Angsty AU time hehehehehe

After the reset, Sabre and Time suddenly find themselves in an entirely new world. However, while Time is just confused, Sabre panics. He knows this place, and the new silver wings and feathers on him are familiar as well.

Time tries to ask what's going in when he sees Sabre's new form, but Sabre avoids his questions and immediately starts to try to find a place for both of them to hide. Time follows him, not really having another option, and keeps trying to get some answers from his friend. Sabre, however, only says he'll explain later.

Along the way, Time gets a few things out of Sabre regarding where they are. Sabre explains that this world is where he's from, and it's run by a species of Avians, which he's part of. These Avians have a hierarchy based on wing color, their scleras matching these colors. Sabre takes off his blindfold to show Time this, then ties it around his arm so he can see through the trees better.

What makes Time the most confused, is that Sabre goes quiet for a moment, then says they just need to avoid the other Avians when he had asked about his own wings' color.

Eventually, they run into a clearing where some Avians had made a camp of sorts. Although, as soon as they see Sabre and Time, they attack with intent to kill. A golden-winged Avian seems especially dead set on their elimination.

The two quickly begin to run through the forest, the other Avians chasing behind them. A multitude of arrows fly past them, most normal while some are gold. They can hear the noise of metal armor and the gleams of swords as the Avians try to catch up.

Soon, they reach a cliffside. Time stops as he sees it, but as Sabre approaches he quickly grabs Time and runs towards the edge. Time exclaims, asking what he's doing, but Sabre only tells Time to trust him.

He jumps off.

For a moment, Time can feel them both plummeting down, closing his eyes out of fear. They suddenly begin to rise through the air, however, and he slowly opens his eyes to see what's going on.

Sabre is flying, using his wings, holding onto Time tightly. The other Avians are still following, using their wings as well. They occasionally stop to fire arrows at the two, but they're only slowing themselves down.

Yet they couldn't run forever; after a long while of trying to get the other Avians off his tail (figuratively, he doesn't have tail feathers) while carrying Time, Sabre was beginning to tire out. The golden Avian noticed and took advantage of this, quickly dashing to catch up.

The gold Avian takes out a sword as they approach behind Sabre, Time yelling out a warning as they start to swing. Sabre speeds up and dodges upward in time for the blade to miss its intended target, his torso, but it struck his legs instead.

Sabre cries out, quickly kicking the gold Avian in their helmet to make them back off, but the damage was done. As Time panickedly yells for Sabre, worried, Sabre looks for a place to crash land. He knows this area better than the other Avians; he could lose them this way.

Sabre spots a familiar area below them, and immediately closes his wings around himself and Time, as they start to fall.

As Sabre and Time descend, the Avians stop following them, believing them to be as good as dead. Besides, they can't land in that area; they know what that territory belongs to.

A few minutes later, Sabre crashes into a semi-shallow pond in a forest, it breaking his fall. As he unravels his wings, Time immediately jumps from under them and grabs onto Sabre, pulling him onto the solid ground.

Struggling to stand because of his injury, Sabre leans against Time for support as he points out a nearby cave they can hide in. Time carefully obliges, slowly making his way to the cave.

Once inside, Time attempts to heal Sabre using his reversal ability, but it only works most of the way. With no other real choice, they decide to camp out in the cave while they wait for Sabre to heal.

As the sun sets that day, they have already made a fire and some makeshift cots, Time getting the supplies while Sabre stays in the cave and makes things. They both sit next to the fire, silent, when Time asks for an explanation as to what's going on. Sabre finally cracks, and gives some much needed answers.

The Avians hate outsiders, especially ones that pose a threat to their authority, but just outsiders in general. That's why they were attacking Time.

But Sabre? He's one of their own, why would they attack him?

Well, before Sabre was born, no one had ever had silver wings. Despite their close relation to gold, which is considered holy and is the highest tier in their hierarchy, Sabre was cast down from his species, his silver wings being named the mark of a monster.

They hated him, just because he was the 'wrong color'. So, he hated them too. But now, they're hunting him and his friend down... and he doesn't know if they can run forever.

Their only hope is if they can find a way back home; back to the Steve Realm.

Basically Sabre and Time run throughout the world, trying to find a way home, while the Avians are chasing them. They occasionally get captured, and Sabre gets injured. A lot. Time usually ends up trying to heal him.

Anyway here's some lore stuff;

- Sabre ran from the Avian kingdom when he was a kid, and ran into the dragons, who were also hated by the other Avians. They ended up taking him in and raising him.

- Avians have an alternate form, one that's more bird-like.

- The golden Avian is alway there whenever they're being chased, and is almost hunting them down. Think like the Tyrant in RE2.
