What if when Void was infecting Sabre, instead of actually corrupting him, Void accidentally broke Sabre's soul into pieces?

[Story]

When the Darkness reached it, Sabre's soul couldn't handle the stress of its corruption, and broke into many pieces. Most being very small, but there were a special seven pieces that were bigger and held more power. All the pieces flew out of Sabre's body and were teleported into different parts of the world, leaving Sabre with only the smallest piece to stay alive. Sabre turns very greyed-out, like all the saturation of color from him had suddenly left, and he passed out as he didn't have enough of his soul for his body to be conscious. Void, confused by this turn of events, thinks he killed Sabre and left Time to suffer in grief.

Time, who had watched the events unfold, rushes over to Sabre and sees he's still alive. He quickly brings him back to the bunker, where everyone is panicked and confused by what's happened to their strange friend. As Time explains what happened, Sabre is put on something similar to life support, when Blue Steve (the friend of the one that was turned into Soul, and the future Leader) discovers Sabre's broken soul. He brings this to the attention of everyone else, who are devastated by the news.

Time then remembers how the soul pieces were teleported, and tells everyone else what happened to the pieces. Quickly going into Time's dimension, the Leaders that are left and friends of Sabre listen to Time's idea; use the Interdimensional TV to look for the pieces, get them back, and return them to Sabre.

This turns into a mission alongside getting rid of the Darkness, which the soul pieces help with immensely (you'll see how soon). Of course Void hears about this revelation, and races to beat the Chromatics and others to the soul pieces, wanting to complete his plan of corrupting Sabre to take over the Realm. Now with competition to save their friend, the Steves rush to find the pieces and get Sabre back.

In total, there are 25 soul pieces scattered around the Realm.

The smaller pieces previously mentioned are small bits of power that can help restore Sabre by a little bit, but not a lot. There are 18 of them, each in random places. The Steves can tell where one is because they slightly change the area around them, turning the ground and whatever else near it a slightly glowing ivory color. When 5/18 smaller pieces are collected, which means Sabre has 6 pieces back in total (because of the piece that somehow stayed with him), Sabre is able to wake up. However, he is still extremely weakened, and is barely able to stand after first awakening. As more pieces are collected, he gets stronger, but doesn't start getting his real strength back until the bigger, more powerful pieces are found and brought back to him. When all 18 small ones are collected, Sabre is able to walk small distances and carry lightweight objects.

The bigger soul pieces are much more powerful, and actually have forms that look like copies of Sabre. There are 7 in total; Light, Shadow (not Shabre, explained later), Rainbow, Saint, Creator, Destroyer, and Constellation. Each have different sides of Sabre's personality, including his flaws. The personality traits and flaws are more exaggerated, as there's nothing cancelling out each other for them to be more normal.

Light Soul Sabre - Found in a cave in the Overworld. Has powers similar to Light Steve, yet a little bit stronger than his. Light Soul is the protective and watchful side of Sabre, the side used when in battle most of the time. However, Light Soul is also the side that blames himself for the harm that comes to Sabre's friends, thinking that he could've protected them.

Shadow Soul Sabre - Found in Void's lair, had been captured in Void's attempt to find the pieces first. Shadow Soul stays quiet all of the time, never speaking. He knows why all the Steves are uneasy around him, so he just keeps to himself and stays out of the way. Shadow Soul is the side that suffers from the loneliness of being isolated, as Sabre is the only being that doesn't really belong in the Realm, he often feels alone which carries on to Shadow Soul.

Rainbow Soul Sabre - Found in a forest in the Overworld, because he kept turning the trees and other plant life around him unnatural colors. Rainbow Soul is the happier, silly side of Sabre, always cracking jokes and making everyone else smile. He keeps unknowingly reminding everyone of Rainbow Steve, as they're very similar in how they act. Rainbow Soul is also the side that panics whenever something bad happens, that panic sends him into incoherent ramblings and accidental use of his powers, which changes the colors of many things around him. The color-changing bit doesn't work on living things.

Saint Soul Sabre - Found in the World Beyond, being protected by the spirits. The Blue Steves were pleasantly surprised by this piece, as Saint Soul understands everything about spirits and such, basically the same things the Blue Steves know. Saint Soul is the shy, quiet side, speaking quietly and never really wanting to get into large groups. Saint Soul is also the side that absolutely freezes when something goes amiss, like a deer in headlights. People often have to drag him out of bad situations.

Creation Soul Sabre - Found in an icy area, surrounded by a strange golden aura. He knew they were coming, and came with the Steves with no hesitance. Creation Soul is basically like the one that follows all the rules and keeps watch over everyone, making sure they're staying out of danger. Like his name suggests, he can create small things like a butterfly or flower. He basically acts like the Soul Sabre group parent. Creation Soul is also the side that gets angry in bad situations, most likely at whatever is attacking them (aka he's the one with anger issues).

Destruction Soul Sabre - Found in the Realm's version of the Deep Dark, also known as where the Obsidian Steves used to be. Destruction Soul is the chaotic one, constantly wanting to set something on fire or break something (as long as it doesn't hurt his friends). He often butts heads with Creation Soul, however they both still get along fine. Destruction Soul panics like Rainbow Soul, except he runs to make sure everyone is okay and to get them out of there before joining in with Creation Soul to fight whatever's attacking.

Constellation Soul Sabre - Found at the old tower used to access the Middle World. Constellation Soul resembles Galaxy Steve, and has similar powers, however acts more chill rather than chaotic. Constellation Soul is the side of Sabre that keeps everyone calm and stops the actual chaotic ones before they get in trouble. Constellation Soul also is the side that acts as defense whenever something bad happens, as he can create a shield around whoever he wishes. His side flaw is that he's the one who never sleeps.

As the seven shards are being collected, these soul beings are always with the group collecting, which is Time, Elemental, Yellow Steve (with the leather chestplate) Green Steve (aka therapist), and Happy Orange Steve. The soul beings go back to Sabre when they're all there and are brought to the Rainbow Bunker. When going to fuse back together into Sabre's soul, they say goodbye to their new friends and say that they're not really going to be gone. Since they're all part of Sabre, they're always going to be there in a way. Once everything is done, the experience had made Sabre himself stronger entirely, and has an even better immunity to the Darkness and has some powers of his own, said powers mirroring the Soul Beings.

The Steves figure out that the reason why Sabre seemed powerless before was that since the soul beings only had a small semblance of consciousness, they were all cancelling each other out and didn't get to let any power form. Once they had been given full sentience and got to experience the world, it gave them full consciousness and made them closer together, now able to let some power go through.
