In this AU, all of the Steves are tiny little moth people! Each chromatic kingdom is made up of Steves that are moths of their color (for example Green Steves being Luna moths or coffee clearwings, Blue Steves being mottled opal moths or blue tiger moths, you get the idea). While normal IRL moths are mostly only active at night, the Steves are awake during the day and sleep at night like people.

Sabre is a normal human at the beginning of the story, living in his own house in a town and all that. One morning he goes outside, and as he's looking around his yard he sees a black moth flying around, which is strange as moths are usually only active at night. As soon as he tries to get a closer look, the strange black moth flies away towards a group of trees in the yard. Curious, Sabre follows it.

Sabre goes into the group of trees the moth flew into, and looks around for it. Suddenly, the trees above him shift and block out the sunlight, and branches quickly grow behind him to block him inside the trees. Sabre begins to panic, and then the black moth flies over. A dark blue glow begins to emanate from the moth's wings.

Sabre suddenly feels like he's falling, with everything around him seeming to grow bigger. In a few seconds, everything goes black.

Sabre slowly wakes up on the ground, feeling something poke him. He hears two voices.

"Orange, stop poking him with a stick. You might startle him if he wakes up."

"It's fine, Red!"

"You're gonna get yourself in a bad situation again. If he gets scared and attacks you, it's going to take a lot longer than usual to find a regen potion for your wings with all of the trade routes that had to be closed recently."

"What do you think he is? Why doesn't he have wings? Or antennae?"

"I don't know... I don't think he's any type of moth at all."

"What do you think he could be, then?"

"Dude, I just said I don't know."

Sabre, getting his bearings a little, twitches a bit as he opens his eyes and looks around a bit. One of the people in front of him quickly jumped behind the other.

"He moved, he moved!"

"I can see that, Orange. Calm down, it's best not to be too loud or freak out. You might make him panic, we have no idea what he's been through before this."

Sabre then pushes himself up from laying on the ground, and sits up. In front of him is Orange Steve, a furry yellow legs moth (yeah I know yellow is in the name even though that kind of moth is clearly orange-), and Red Steve, a red giant Prometheus moth. Orange Steve is hiding behind Red's wings, while Red looks curiously at Sabre.

Sabre is very confused by the sight of the two, as the last thing he expected to see was moth people. He then notices his surroundings, and sees that everything around him is giant; grass and flowers are like trees, trees are like tall, thinner mountains, and a normal tree leaf looks like a tarp over things.

When that black moth (who is later revealed to be Void in disguise) started glowing, it shrunk Sabre and sent him to an entirely new world that wasn't the realm Earth is in. Now, Sabre is inside the Steve Realm, surrounded by the moth people inhabiting it.

Red and Orange soon explain where he is and who they are, and so, the story begins.

As for things like transformed Steves (Rainbow, Galaxy, Light, etc.), They'd still be the moth species they were before, just a different color.

Now, I believe that Sabre doesn't have to always be tiny here. With the help of a special stone that Orange/Rainbow finds and turns into a pendant for Sabre later in the story, Sabre can return to his original size for a while. This comes in handy for a lot of things, like battle, Sabre needing to find food for himself, or when he wants to help with construction in things. It doesn't have a cool down though, and Sabre has to wait 12 hours before he can use the pendant again.

Also, for animals, either the person that claims can go the extra mile and find insects that could correspond to normal animals, or just tiny animals. Both are equally cute.

(Moths are fluffy. Which means the moth Steves are fluffy. This also means that when Orange/Rainbow hugs him, Sabre don't wanna let go.)

Orange: Sabre, I need to go back to my house now.

Sabre: (bearhugging Orange) Nope.

Orange: Sabre-

Sabre: NOPE.

(Sabre notices Gerald staring him down from a little ways away.)

Sabre: (at Gerald) WHAT, YOU JEALOUS?

Orange: (has accepted defeat) T>T

(Yellow Kingdom getting attacked by the Darkness beast.)

LC (an Io Moth): Uh, where'd Sabre go?!

Orange: Wait for it.

(Suddenly, in the trees, giant Sabre appears. Since the Darkness beast is still tiny to him while he's like this, Sabre picks it up like a fricken doll.)

Sabre: (throwing the Darkness) Ya- YEET!

(Darkness beast goes over the treeline.)

LC: ...That was awesome.

Orange: Right?

(Just- Sabre gladly receiving hugs from the Violet Steves with Orange and the Violet Leader just watching in the background. Don't judge him, would you turn down the opportunity to hug a ton of fluffy pink moth people? Didn't think so.)
