So, Sabre actually arrived in the RQ world through an experiment done by Void, a scientist in this world that wants to pull a creature from another dimension in order to create the ultimate bioweapon (think like kingpin from Spiderverse but reasons for dimension rifts are not good in any way). The dimensional rift closed just as Sabre was pulled through, landing Sabre in another part of the country, where Orange is in fact.

Void thought the experiment had failed, and started trying again. However, later in the story he could find out about Sabre through reports of sightings and send Steves that are basically the FBI in that world after him, causing the 'Orange running from the cops with Sabre while everyone else has his back' thing mentioned in the last chapter.

Void actually used to be Seer, just like in the series, but something different happened to make him how he is now. Years ago, during the start of dimensional study, a rift collapsed and the machine holding it open exploded right next to Seer.

After getting out of the hospital, he seemed fine, minus the extreme change in color... but little did everyone know that the accident had changed him not only physically, but mentally as well. This once-peaceful individual, at first wanting to open dimensional rifts to create new bonds between unlikely allies, now tries to open them to gain a world-conquering pawn that only he can command.

Sabre does indeed have hidden powers, very strong powers actually. At first, Orange and everyone else thinks he doesn't have them, but then he starts making things float, healing wounds almost instantaneously using magic, floating which turns into hovering off the ground which eventually turns into flight, and a few other things.

I had the idea that Orange Steve will stay Orange Steve throughout the story, however... something happens. Maybe Orange could gain a Rainbow Steve form after an accident happens with Sabre's powers, which makes him more powerful by a lot. The 'Rainbow' look would only appear while Orange is using those powers.

Was thinking the same could happen with Shy/Light, and possibly Galaxy. He could either be just him the entire time and Time and Elemental are his two sons that live with him, or that could happen except he's just an Indigo Steve and then incident with Sabre's powers happen. I dunno yet.

The Chromatics we all know could be part of one large county, each being sectioned off in towns that are mostly made up of their respective colors, minus a few other-colored Chromatics that live in towns they don't match with. Nobody is treated differently because of it, if they're living in a town different from their color, it's actually pretty normal.

People like conspiracy theorists, 'paranormal investigators', and other odd people might try to bother Orange about the strange happenings around him because of Sabre, some even determined enough to uncover some kind of cryptid or whatever to try and break in (ahemRainbowRedahem).

This does not end well, as they end up spooking Sabre and causing him to use his powers, and they usually end up in the hospital or something without any memory of what happened. When questioned about what happened by police, Orange just holds up a baseball bat he has and says 'self defense'. Red backs him up as well, naturally.

So. Had an idea that sprouted from a joke on one of FC's streams. Just- Imma say it.

(Sabre hugging Orange's leg just as he gets back from going on an errand with Red, Galaxy, and Blue Steve (actually a Leader here). Elemental was left in charge of watching Sabre while Time was cooking in the other room.)

Time: (From the kitchen) ...Elemental, what'd you do?

Elemental: (Who showed Sabre a horror movie) *nervous sweating*

(Elemental books it)

Blue Leader: (Dropping the bag he was carrying and chasing Elemental) ELEMENTAL, WHAT DID YOU DO?! GET BACK HERE!

Galaxy: ELEMENTAL, IF YOU DON'T TELL US WHAT YOU DID YOU ARE SO GROUNDED!

(I've been thinking of this all day lol)

(Red trying to teach Sabre to cook using the stovetop while Sabre and Orange mess with each other. They're trying to make pancakes.)

Red: Okay, first we need to butter the pan-

(Red turns around)

Orange and Sabre: *Orange is handing Sabre a handful of powdered sugar that he took from an actual bag of it he's holding*

Red: Do NOT-

(Red scolding Orange for trying to give Sabre straight-up powdered sugar, because they have no idea if that much sugar could give him a heart attack.)

(Orange trying to give Sabre a lollipop)

Orange: (Handing one to him) Here, this is a thing we have called 'candy', one of a lot of different kinds. Try it!

Sabre: (Stares at it form a minute, then tries to eat the lollipop with the wrapper still on it)

Orange: Ah- NO-

(Red driving a car with Orange and Sabre in the backseat.)

Orange: *Trying to calm Sabre down as Sabre freaks out at the absolute sorcery that is moving car*

(Red in a hurry.)

Red: COME ON, ORANGE! I NEED TO GO TO WORK, AND YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!

Orange: (Giving Sabre a fluffy blanket while he's sat in front of a TV set to a ten-hour-long compilation of animal videos and with a snack tray next to him) WELL EXCUSE YOU, BUT I NEED TO MAKE SURE SABRE'S GONNA BE OKAY WHILE WE'RE GONE!

Red: GET YOUR BUTT OUT HERE!

Orange: (Handing Sabre a plushie) GIVE ME A MINUTE!

(Sabre stays quiet during a lot of the story hehe, so he just doesn't question a lot of things.)

- Red Steves aren't really hidden in this AU, just secluded

- Works at a high-paying coffee shop next to a skatepark as a manager

- The more responsible one, when it comes to helping Sabre with this world

- Visits the Red Town (better known as Rose Hills, it being a town set in a mountains' valley) very often, talking with the Leader, the Professor, and M (when he's out of his room, and 'M' is actually short for 'Maroon' here)

- Writes mystery/cryptid stories for fun

- Jacket is from his highschool, given to him by a friend (who is now the Red Leader)

- Age: 16 (High School Sophomore)

- Goofball

- Very clumsy

- Goes to school at a high school in the Orange Town (better known as Sunset Shores, since it's a coastline city)

- When school ends a little after the start of the story, he gets a part-time summer job at a craft store

- Main person that cares for/protects/hides Sabre

- Has Gerald in his room most of the time, lets him run around the house, and lets him out into the large yard behind the house when need be

- Red is his legal guardian, his biological parent having died before he was a year old, and they trusted Red with him

- Visits the rest of the neighborhood often (Happy and Funny, who are brothers in this AU, Shy, Nerdy, Loud, etc.)

- Close friends with the Orange Leader, as it's a close-knit, small city

- Does have his ears pierced as well, just not shown here

Making Sabre's actual design right now, and I can't resist putting more characters in modern outfits, so get ready for that :3
