AU #134 (yes I'm numbering these now)

So after the loop, Sabre is put back into the Realm as a wandering spirit, joining Orange Steve. Orange was left as a spirit back when Void killed him, and he wandered and watched as the time passed alone until Sabre died too and came along.

Sabre came back to the Realm when he died because, as a consequence to the deal he made to revive that one time, his soul is bound to the Realm. He can't leave this world if he tried. Not like he wants to though, he's happy to watch over his friends with Orange by his side again.

They spend a long time watching as the world moves forwards, observing the progress the Kingdoms are making and keeping eyes on their friends. Gerald is the only one that can see them other than the Blue Steves, and regularly lets them hang out in his castle. Sabre and Orange also enjoy pranking people every so often (what else are they supposed to do as ghosts?) and making a game out of keeping off the Blue Steves' radar so they're not caught haunting everybody. It's really easy for them to avoid them, but don't mess with them to purposely get their attention, and they do so because they don't want to cause problems for the Blue Leader.

Maybe some other characters are wandering too, like some of their friends that didn't get to properly live or died during battle. Like Funny, Dark, Elemental, and anyone else you can think of. Maybe they decide to all be one big group of ghosts and just haunt the crud out of everybody for the rest of their afterlife.

Except, Sabre and Orange's afterlife is cut short.

For some unknown reason, one morning they're suddenly lying down in a circle of grass, which is underneath a big colorful tree. It takes a while for them to wake up (suddenly being back in living bodies and all), but when they do, they see the prismatic tree above them and realize they're alive again.

Very soon after, a bunch of people of various colors surround the tree, some of them walking inside the tree's clearing and helping them up, all of them there because there was a very loud commotion there just after everyone felt what was like a large shockwave of power. Sabre and Orange don't recognize any of them, but maybe a Leader or another familiar face comes through the crowd and sees them.

That's when they find out that they've been somehow revived, decades after their deaths.

Not way into the future at a point where none of their old friends are still there mind you, or far enough that their friends are at the ends of their lives, no. I'm not making this too sad. Maybe 20 years or so. Anyway-

Sabre and Orange Steve are almost exactly how they were when they died, but any injuries or scars they had are completely gone. They also look a bit different too, Orange has rainbow tips in his hair and his skin has a few colorful spots, while Sabre has something similar but it's just his hair and not as much. He still has its blindfold, but it's a much lighter grey. They both have different outfits when they first awaken too, being simple shirts and pants in a white color with prismatic accents all over.

They're very obviously taken to the Leaders after that, probably making everybody meet up at the Green Kingdom or the Professors lab so people can check to make sure they're okay and also try to figure out how they're alive again. Of course, happy reunions ensue for a while. And then, their new story can begin.

Here's a few more story details:

- Sabre and Orange Steve don't remember anything from before they woke up under the colorful tree that grew around Orange's grave. They could remember doing something they did normally as ghosts, but suddenly everything is blank and the next thing they knew they were waking up in their new bodies. They still remember everything they did as ghosts, which saves them from having to catch up, but they're a bit confused as to why that part of their memory is missing.

- They can see other wandering spirits after they're revived, being able to communicate with them too. They also see their actual identities/appearances, unlike the Blue Steves who can only see a wandering soul.

- Just a possibility, but maybe since they were ghosts for so long, Sabre and Orange still have some abilities left from it?

- Whatever revived them gave the two a power boost, as Orange has stronger abilities while Sabre finds himself to have gotten stronger physically.

- They notice that their friends are more protective of them than they were before, meanwhile all of them just have PTSD from last time.

(A Blue Steve trying to catch them while they're still ghosts)

Blue Steve: I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!

Sabre: (making his voice sound further away to mess with him) Nooo I'm nooooot!

(Orange is laughing)

(Colorless Guard minding his own business while posted outside)

Sabre: (watching from further away) Go, do it.

Orange: (floats over to behind the Guard)

(Orange waits for a little bit, waiting for the right time, before he quickly pulls down a branch that hits the Guard, his armor making a comedically loud noise. Orange goes back to Sabre while the Guard shakes leaves off.)

Guard: Ugh- I swear this Kingdom is haunted-!

(The duo laughs, which this time is heard by the Guard. He just freezes for a bit before slowly turning to look at another Guard that's posted down the street.)

Guard: ...You heard that too right?

Guard 2: I wish I didn't.

(Orange Leader is visiting Gerald, when he sees him staring at a corner.)

O.L: Buddy, there's nothing up there. What are you looking at?

(Meanwhile Gerald turns to the Orange Leader while Sabre and Orange continue to make silly faces, floating in that same corner.)

—

(When the duo is revived. Sabre is waking up in the grass while Orange is still asleep next to him.)

Sabre: (not exactly fully awake yet, staring up at the tree leaves) ...what year is it and why is everything bright.

—

(Sabre is standing next to a staircase, when Orange suddenly comes crashing down it.)

Sabre: (helping him up) Holy crap dude, are you okay?!

Orange: I forgot I don't float anymore...

—

(Insert the original Orange Village squad hanging out again. Maybe Funny is joining is as a ghost. They're all just happy to be together again.)
