— although her tail does allow her to keep her balance , she still can't fall to heights proportionally as impressive as cats can , if that makes sense .

personality :
at first you ' d expect katherine to be just like her father , and , well . . . you wouldn't be totally wrong . katherine is impulsive , has incredible mood swings , curses like a sailor and keeps grudges against people forever . however she did get part of her personality from her mother ; she ' s more mature than her aggressive side may make her seem to be , she has a huge motherly instinct and sadly she ' s very self - conscious about her quirk not being as flashy as ichirou ' s . just like ichirou got more of his mother , katherine got more of her father . . which leads to a lot of trouble .

backstory :
katherine had to roll with expectations during her entire childhood , people kept assuming she was like her father . the worst part being that she couldn't exactly prove them wrong ; she was , indeed , acting like him a lot . so , she ended up deciding that her life would be easier if she acted exactly like people wanted her to — although it wasn ' t always an act , she did feel like something was wrong about it . the turning point being when she was about to beat up a kid because he associated ichirou to her , which drove her mad . she always thought ichirou was better than her in every way , so she couldn ' t stand it when people basically put him at her level .
at that moment she decided to open up to annie about it , which was pretty much the first time she truly asked for anything from her mother . annie , despite not being a psychologist , helped her daughter building back her confidence from the ground up . katsuki didn't help much , but didn't exactly make it worse either as he was too busy calling ichirou soft .
it was only at the age of thirteen that katherine thought about becoming a hero instead of joining the military .
