Tyler is a depressed teen who is at this point trying his best to make his way through highschool at least. He was a loner who wanted no one near him and is bored of everything and everyone. He wanted everything to be over with already in all honesty but he kept holding out despite his life being and feeling like a baren wasteland.

But that changed when one day a exchange student from California arrives at the school and his name is Josh Dun. Josh was and has been blind since birth but his blindness makes him see like a new born, black and white but able to make out objects and people but sees them as blurred out shadows.

When Josh and Tyler first met they immediately clicked and took a liking to each other. As Tyler learned more about Josh's life Tyler didn't understand how Josh was able to be so sweet and a ray of sunshine but Tyler also realized that Josh was a perfect reason to keep pushing forward to the end because Tyler wanted to do something special for Josh some day...

He wants to be able to help Josh see somehow. He didn't know how he'd do it yet but he wants to help him see the world and protect Josh from all the horrible and harmful things.
