(This can work for any fandom!)

You download a video game of some kind, and it's super good! You can customize your character to look and act exactly like you, no matter your hairstyle, skin color, eye color, whatever!

You really enjoy playing the game, and can interact with the characters. You tend to interact with your favorite character the most however, and one day they say "You know something? I....really like you (Name). Not this....character that you play. I like you."

This is concerning because one, the only other self aware character in a video game you can think of is Monika from DDLC and we all know how that turned out, and two, last time you checked this wasn't a romance game.

But then the game glitches and your back at the start of the conversation. You decide to brush it off, but it seems weird.

It gets worse as the game progresses, your favorite character pops up more and more, and whenever they say or do something that could even hint at them being self aware, the game glitches back again as if they never did anything.

I am willing to make this a yandere thing if you'd like, but it doesn't have to be.
