That's An Order
God was a cruel, cruel person.
After all this time, now he decides to punish the golden haired sinner? A certain Colonel had a few things to say about that. Reality, was a horrible place. It was such an irony to live in. The boy had survived so many things, that he thought nothing could destroy the blonde. But, he was wrong. Because the blonde lay in a hospital bed, frail, and clinging to the last few ounces of life he had left. And God was going to sit there, and make his life even shorter? Why? Why him of all people?
You can't die on me....you're not allowed to die before me.....that's an order....!
Multiple machines were attached to the boy, working to keep him alive, just for a few more days, maybe weeks, or maybe months if he was lucky. It wasn't fair. The boy had to do so much work, just in order to breathe.
The doctors think you won't wake up, but we both know that isn't true. Right.....?
He never realized how much he cared for the boy. But seeing him hanging onto life by a thread, made him realize how much he was in love with him. He grabbed the boy's flesh hand, and gently rubbed his thumb over the top of his hand.
Please....please wake up. You have to wake up. You have to get through this.....
The constant beeping of the heart monitor put the elder man at some ease. At least he knew the boy was still breathing. However, it served a different purpose. The beeping reminded him of much he missed the boy. He missed teasing his shortness, or his opinion on milk.
Please God, have some remorse for this poor boy. I beg you, please!
And so, he found himself praying to a god, that he didn't even believe in. But he'd do it. He'd do it for this boy. The boy that changed him, and broke through his masks of emotion. By now, it's been three days, 36 hours, 2160 minutes. That's how long he's been in this white room, with the fragile boy.
I'll do anything, just please. Give my love back to me...I can't lose him. Not him too.
Multiple times people had tried to push him out of the room. He wouldn't budge. He'd put up a fight, and his trigger happy Lieutenant couldn't even stop him. His team was on edge.
Wake up....you have to. There's no one else to take care of your brother. You have to be the one to do it.
A suddenly, it's as if a miracle had been bestowed upon the boy, and God had heard his prayers and pleads. Golden eyes slowly flickered open, and the hand that was held, gently gave the man a reassuring squeeze. Tears threatened to fall down the man's face, as he smiled softly at the boy.
"Thanks for not dying on me." Was all he could manage. He would confess right then and there, but he as afraid. Afraid to lose the blonde he loved so much.
Edward, I love you so much....
The boy just gave a weak grin in reply, and nodded.
I love you too Roy...I love you too.
