Catherine POV

"Well hello students I'm your teacher Mrs Huntress but just call me Artemis" the teacher said walking up to us we were  right in font of the endless forest. We're in hunting I don't know why we have to do hunting.

"If your wondering, I'm a trybrid vampire, werewolf and mermiad not sure how but I am. Enough with introductions this is hunting as you know we are carnivores we eat meat. Well in a way we are omnivores as well but you get the point. We are to hunt for food. Today we will learn how to so this and other things. So lets begin" Mrs Huntress I mean Artemis said.

"Group by  species " she ordered her eyes silver.

"All were cats one side, werewolves another side and werefoxes on side let's begin" she clapped her hands together.

"Mermaids you have a major disadvantage but you can use this as your advantage" she told all the mermaid were in formation.

"Water is everywhere this is how you do your prey/enemy may not realize this. You also have the siren song this is commonly forgotten but it is useful. Now we are going to the human world for training, on an island in the Bermuda triangle the waters a dangerous but you can handle your selves now let's go" Artemis said using fairy dust to create a portal.

"Why does everyone hate me" I groaned into my pillow. It was lunch time but I needed a swim to calm my nerves it was awful hunting I was nearly swallowed by a shark. Gosh if it weren't for Matthew saving me man that guy is a pro.

"Hurry up Catherine well meet you at our normal table later" Kaden  yelled shutting the door. I changed into a lime green short sleeved crop top with a pair of overalls and some sneakers.

I ran out of the cabin my skin itching to be in the water. I took the long way since the tide was out I wanted to do a cliff dive.

"Hey wait up!" someone called after me.

"You going to jump?" the person asked it was then I realized it was Matthew. I smiled nodding.

"So lets go!" he said then pulled me into the water along with him. I instantly transformed as the water touched my skin. He smiled at me well it seems my tail is special but they don't worry much saying that my mom could of just asked a witch to change the colour when I was younger.

"So what's on your mind?" he asked me as we swam to the cafeteria.

"Not sure there's always something on my mind" I told him playing with some small fish not sure which kind through.

"You know I didn't realize your tail was golden like the royal family" he said touching my for some reason my eyes fluttered close.

"Unlike mine" he said no longer touching me.

"I'm not really a merman I'm half shark that's how I saved you from that shark we weren't the same breed but it worked" he said showing me his tail he was right he had fins at the sides and on on his back.

"Want me to give you a ride?" he asked smiling. I nodded sitting on his back with my tail flopping over.

"Hold on to the top fin" he said I did as told then we appeared infront of the cliff where the cafeteria was. I was confused how could we go up.

"We use the water. Here create a bubble around you to dry yourself" he instructed I followed "Now use the water around you to push you into the air" he told me I did as told again. I was sent flying in he air it felt like I was flying.

"God don't  frighten me like that Cat!" Aihisa screamed jumping up. I smiled sheepishly sitting down.

"Here's you pizza" Jason handed me my pizza.

"My love" I cooed to the pizza slice. Everyone laughed while I took a bite out of the slice.

"What do you have next?" Andrew asked.

"Uh...have knowing the elements next for so ever reason I have to go if I'm not an elemental I go to free period with Aihisa " I told them looking at me schedule.

"Well its dosen't matter to be a elemental you have to be chosen your not born into it" Naomi stated finishing her soda. I nodded understanding.

"We should go through class is at the other end of the school" Naomi said getting up I followed then said goodbye to the others.

"Omg Catherine your a elemental " Naomi screamed as she walked me to shadow travel I doubt I'll be needed there.

"Beware of the evil within" I read the sign to entrance the cave that happened to be our classroom. It opened up reveling the actual cave.

"Bye Cat good luck! You'll need it" Naomi said as the cave closed up.

"Hello?" I asked in fear. It felt like I was being watched for some reason.

'You weak and pathetic excuse for royalty. You have the power to destroy the whole school yet you refuse to do so. Idiot! ' a voice screamed inside my head.

'She's not an idiot leave her alone' another voice said.

' Both of you be quite!' another voice demanded.

'She's is a fool just wait til I get control I will kill all. After all you are nothing but a monster Catherine!" the same voice from before said.

"No I'm not" I whispered to my self as guilt consumed me.

"Um...miss would you stop talking to your self and join the class" a deep voice said snapping me back to reality. I turned around to see a man standing on a rock while the rest of the class sat on the floor. I sat down beside the only person I knew Kaden.

"As I said before this is shadow travel where we explore the arts of our ancestors wicked ways. This technique was used to kill humans in the late 1800s but now it is mostly used to move from the underworld to the supernatural world or vice versa " the teacher explained.

"This method is used today but in a different way. We mistake this power and use it for granted some even use it to play pranks on each other. This is unacceptable! It this class you will learn how to use this power correctly now let's begin" he clapped his hands and the whole place went dark except for one dim light of  a torch.

"To shadow travel you need to visualize where you want to go " he instructed I took a deep breath and focused on the light.

"Now allow the darkness to engulf you a think of your self reappearing somewhere else now go" he instructed suddenly everything felt cold then warm.

I reopened my eyes and saw that I was in front of the platform. I looked around and saw the whole class looking at me with wide eyes. What happened?

"Well you can definitely shadow travel your just not supposed to" the teacher said adjusting is spectacles.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused but the bell cut me off. Oh yeah it seems time moves faster in the supernatural world.

"Good bye class your assignment is to find out who was the first person to discover shadow traveling due next class" was all the teacher said before disappearing. Darn!

The rest of the day went by quickly and before I knew it I was back at my dorm but what bothers me was who were those voices in my head.
