Catherine POV

I was shot with a blast of electricity that sent me flying of the cliff right beside the cafeteria. Who thought it was a good idea to do that. I looked down to see that the tide was out and I was about to be crushed unto sharp, pointed boulders.

"Omg my life is about to end without me having my first crush or kiss. I haven't even gotten married or had children and I'll never know what happened to SpongeBob when he went to the surface" I whined not realizing Andrew saved me.

"Quit whining your alive" he said placing me safely on the ground. Thank god I'm alive.

"Catherine are you okay..god what if your brother found out you got hurt he would have me head. Thank god your okay. If you weren't I'd be dead cause your brother is coming tomorrow to visit you and he's my alpha he'll kill me for letting you get hurt imagine that this beautiful body being turned into a rug how dreadful" Jason rambled shaking me like crazy.

"Relax dude I'm okay but she isnt" I said using the water from the fountain to lift the slut into the air.

"Now I think you owe me an apology....I'm waiting" I said allowing the water to circle around her.

"Jackson do something I can't use my powers...help me" she screamed at the guy who she walked with.

"What do you want me to do?" he asked worried as I was now holding her by the throat.

"Use your power your an water elemental" she croaked. For some reason this felt so right like it was what I was born to do. Kill. I tightened my grip around her neck enjoying watching her suffer why did this feel so satisfying.

"I can't she's too strong " the guy said tring to break my hold then I realized that multiple people where trying to break my hold on the slut.

"Catherine stop!" a voice rang through my ears which some how brought me back to reality. I was wrong to do this. Hurt people for entertainment it's wrong to find pleasure in causing people pain it's wrong to be me...I'm a monster.

I looked at the girl who I was once choking to death being attended to by the teachers who happened to go to the scene. I feel so....empty now knowing I would kill someone for shear entertainment I would kill someone who had a family and kids but worst of all I would take away a person's life for pleasure.

This isn't me it's something inside me but what is it. Like a force waiting to be awakened which each minute I breath it tries to find dad and way to break out.

"Cat you okay?" Kaden asked me. Normally I would be shocked but now I just feel like I need to be alone.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just a little shocked at what came over me" I told him. He did something unexpected next smile.

"It's okay your a mermaid beautiful yet dangerous but don't worry you'll get through this week all will" he encouraged me. I couldn't help the smile that formed on my lips.

"Thanks guys it means a lot but right now I need to be alone" I told them walking out into the woods but I felt someone following me.

I turned around to see Andrew and Aihisa flying towards me. "What do you want" I snapped at then annoyed.

"We wanted to see if you were okay" Aihisa said looking worried for the first time not smiling.

"Well..I'm....fine you can go now" I told them walking further. But someone gripped my wrist.

"Please tell us what's wrong even though your not my mate nor are you an angel but I feel like I should protect you..please...just tell us" Andrew begged his wing now flopping to the floor. I never realized until now who beautiful they are. They where white with the ends a dark blue each feather crafted to fit together nice, it looked like it had just been polished repeatedly.

"It's just that...I don't know..I'm famous back in the human world with adoring fans and everything but now I feel like I've been lying to them about my voice since I'm a mermaid I bet any other mermaid could sing better than me so how does that work...does it mean I was lying to them or I was blinded. Even before I found all this...before I knew I was a mermaid I could sing so I'm wondering if it was all a lie" I told them throwing me self down on the grass.

"Well its seems that you've always had the ability to sing whether with or without your mermaid side so I doubt you've been lying to everyone. Knowing your a mermaid that powerful 'siren' voice is now amplifying what was already there. So you weren't lying before I found out I was an angel in always had this attachment to being in the sky the feeling it came with and I was an expert a combat so when it finally happened I realized having these powers only amplified it" he explained

"Thanks...both of you" I whispered clutching the end of my sweater.

"No problem now let's get moving the bell will ring any minute now and Miss Basksun is not one for lateness" Aihisa laughed I joined in but nodded.

"Did you see her face?!" I laughed recalling how miss Basksun looked when the spell back fired and caused an explosion.

"Yeah she was all like...transgera halovandos cetran-" I cut her off seeing that the spell was actually working.

"Maybe you shouldn't repeat what she said I don't want to mess up my hair" I complained.

"Okay fine but I think we should hurry up we have training now and Coach Lockwood isn't very nice. We're in Practice 4 just like everyone else in the dorm. The whole school can't to training at the same time so the do it in groups" she said growing her wings. I wish I had wings.

"Cat I think you need to hold up on the pizzas of a while" she complained panting once we reached the training area.

"What are you saying I'm fat?" I asked her offended.

She nodded laughing as I opened the door leading us to a large opened field.

"Okay students" a strong voice boomed causing all the talking to stop.

"As you all know this is training for when your in the real world...even wih this Academy there are people out there who refuse to listen to the rules as why we are in hiding. All of us here are at least sixteen so I don't expect to bady anyone. Weapon up, suit up and line up" the same voice boomed once more reveling a man that looked like he was in his mid thirties.

I looked around to see everyone rushing to get weapons that ramdomly appeared there where weapons for each species. Cool bruh.

Spotting the mermaid one I picked out two daggers after making sure I had a whip. Once finished I noticed people where in battle suits.

"Catherine what are you wearing?" Aihisa asked changed into a black tank top with the back open for her wings and black leggings.

"Here put this on" she said then flicked her wrist and I was dressed in a black crop top with black leggings and a black leather jacket and combat boots all my weapons in place.

"Alright...the healers are right here if you need help. There are five flags randomly placed in the forest the team that find the most will be declared Victory each dorm is a team good luck..you'll need it" was all he said before vanishing leaving the healers who were sitting down relaxing.

"How are we going to do this?" I asked everyone once they where there.

"I'll fly to cover more ground Aihisa by my side. Jason and Kaden scan the area look out for any other contestants who are trying to follow us..I hope that nose is good wolf boy" Andrew started now looking at Jason who nodded "Naomi and Cathrine, Naomi I need you to set up traps and Catherine we need you as back up for Naomi" he said looking at me.

I frowned why didn't I get something important.

"Let's go we use these to communicate with each other there water proof and fire proof. Okay let's now out people. Go! Go! Go!" he shouted running off the cliff. Can you believe we have to jump to reach the flags. And what is it with this school and cliffs. Gosh people.

I glanced at Naomi who was using where element as an advantage using a rock to keep her afloat. She swiped me up then pushed us of the cliff. I watched as Jason and Kaden took a free fall. Lucky for them.

Once we landed Naomi jumped into action running with me hot on her trail. There where other students all running with us some flying and some just standing there. Weird.

"Catherine....the trees say there's a flag right beside the lake near here come on we'll need you" she said dragging me deeper into the forest.

"Go Catherine quick we need to get that flag" Andrew said through the ear piece.

I started running at full speed pulling Naomi along with me.

"Stop!" She screamed causing me so slip on a branch and fall with the two of us. I glared at her as she hid behind a tree signaling me to follow. I did but I was still up set.

"Are you a good swimmier?" she asked me peeking out from the tree. I then
noticed the group of students who where jumping in the lake some shifting into mermaids and some growing wings to swim with. Oh they must be nymphs.

"Of course I can swim" I said stating the obvious.

"Well go now listen...there are three water trolls in there don't let them touch you or you're out this lake has a current swim with it. If you see troll create a water bubble inside the lake to protect your self oh and try not to wake the beast" was all she said before pushing me into the lake.

I instantly transformed as my clothes dissolved leaving me bear with only my ear peice.

"I swear if this is a trick I ain't buying it where is that stupid flag" I muttered under my breath as I swam through the lake. Uh....miss Fishwater said mermaids have echo location so if I make a sound I can use it to locate any near by objects. Yes I remembered something.

I sang a note which came back to me immediately like it bounced back hold on it isn't supposed to do that. I sang another note which came back again. There's something close by. I looked around and saw nothing.

Your just exaggerating Catherine relax- I screamed when I saw the ugliest thing alive swimming towards me. That must be the water trolls. Quickly I made a bubble around be blocking them. God they where ugly.

I looked to my left to see a light blue fabric sticking out of the rocks. I found it. Looking behind me I noticed the troll was still gaining on my. Okay you have one shot at this.

I quickly dropped my shield then grabbed the flag freeing it. I looked again to see it was about a few feet away from me. I quickly jumped out of the water landing directly untop of Naomi.

"Did you get it?" she groaned pushing me off her by now I was drying my tail. I raised the flag after completely drying my self then placed all the water from my tail back into the lake.

"Okay Andrew found one and Jason found one we found one so two more I'll tell the rest to regroup" Naomi said talking to the others.
