Chapter 2

"Ha!" These kids yelled at me. "You think you can take over Britain with your foolish acts, pirate?"

"What?" I said shocked at their rudeness. "Aye! What are ye talkin' about?"

I was literally about to leave to go to me cove, and these two kids were bein' cruel already? I saw the entire city, and just when I was thinkin' this entire trip would be normal, these two brats show up outta nowhere! One was a girl with pink ribbons in her hair, a red dress with a pocket in the center, and her shoes were shiny and black. The other was a boy that was quite chubby, his face and arms were dotted with freckles, and he was wearing dark blue overalls with black boots.

"You're tattoo shows you're bound to take away our freedom!" The girl with blonde pigtails said.

"Besides," the boy with curly, brown hair added. "Your father is a pirate, so it would only foreshadow that you'll be exactly like him: a crook living on sea."

"Aye!" I shouted. "So are ye as shallow as the shoreline to only judge that because one is a Scot that they are a pirate?! God give some shame on ye!"

"There's nothing to judge, you crook! You will always and forever be a lowly class in England whether you're part English or not." He was yelling at me at this point.

"Do you have any manners for a lady?" A bold boy's voice said out of nowhere.

Me head turned towards the person, and me eyes widened as I set me gaze on Prince Dylan of England. I looked away quickly, knowin' of the consequences if a savage like me looked at such royalty. Father warned me of 'em too many times. I heard the Royal walk towards me, and it made me nervous to the brink of insanity.

"Y-y-your Highness!" The two kids stuttered.

"I will ask you again," he spoke like a knife. "Do you have any manners for a lady?"

"B-but," the girl spoke as I felt her cold stare on me. "She's no lady!"

"What of her doesn't make her a lady. Whether she is formal or not, that doesn't mean you should disrespect her. Do you understand me?"

"Y-y-yes!" They both squeaked.

"Now scram before I call you into the dungeon."

I heard there boots click away from me, and I was stuck with a prince. A PRINCE! Someone pirates fear everywhere. I felt him look at me, and I was about ready for him to burn me with his words. I tightened me bandanna over me head to rid of the headache about to occur once more.

"Are you alright?" He asked softly.

"W-why?" I asked abruptly without lookin' at him.

"Why what?"

"W...why did ye help me? A Scot of all people."

"Do all the English treat the Scottish like this?"

"N-no..."

"Then why you? A lady."

I unconsciously rubbed me tattoo, and when I realized he was possibly lookin' at it, I was too late. He took me wrist lightly, and I flinched. Was a Royal really touchin' me? I still didn't look at him though. I knew guards were probably watchin', and if I was caught even catchin' a glance, it would be off with me head or a death in me family.

"A half blooded English?" he spoke while lettin' go of me hand.

"Kill me if ye wish," I squeaked while squeezin' me eyes shut. "Just don't hurt me father or mother."

"Why would I do such a thing?"

"The king does it to any pirate child." I then breathed a sharp breath in since I realized what me mouth just blurted. "I-I-I mean-"

"Calm down," he said in a softly. "I didn't know my father did this harsh torture to you and your family. Is that also why you're not looking at me?"

I merely nodded.

"I-if we look at royalty, either me or me family is as good as dead. U-unless someone changes that law, I can't look at y-ye. Only your shoes."

"Well, I command you to look at me then."

"W-w-what?"

"If you are commanded to by a royal, then you must be able to look at me."

I took a deep breath in as I slowly opened me eyes to the prince's face. He blinked his eyes in surprise as I did so. I got a good look at his features: Brown eyes, brown hair, tan, olive skin.

"Say," he said. "You're that girl I bumped into earlier."

"Y-y-ye were that boy?" I replied half shocked half dumb-founded. "W-w-why aren't ye dressed in your uniform?"

"It gets too hot around here to wear that thing everywhere. I thought I'd wear some simple clothing today. Why do you ask?"

"I-I-I j-j-just..." I rubbed the back of me neck. "I-I wasn't expectin' ye to be someone I'd run into." He laughed, and it made me look up in confusion. "What's so funny?"

"I'm sorry. This is very rude for me to say, but the way you speak is very strange."

"I've never heard anyone say that about an Scot," I said.

"There's always a first about everything, right?"

"Um.... yes?"

He chuckled at me reply.

"May I ask you something?" He said.

"Y-yes?"

"May I see you at the ball tomorrow night?"

"W-w-what? B-b-but I-"

"Being a pirate's daughter has nothing to say if you can go or not go. I'll be sure to tell the guards that you will be excused. Alright?"

"A-and what if the King, your father says something about it?"

"I'll tell him you're a mere friend I met."

"Y-y-ye are making a big mistake, Prince-"

"Please." He held him hand up and smiled sweetly at me. "Just call me Dylan. I don't much appreciate when people think of me as higher than them."

I nodded and turned to leave. Suddenly Prince- er- Dylan took my wrist and held me back.

"May I get you're name, please?"

I flinched when he touched me wrist. They weren't gloved, and it took all of me will power to not seemed to shaken up by the act. I looked to him and sighed.

"C-Coora. Coora Terra."

"Alright, Coora," he smirked. "See you at the ball?"

"If I am able to find a decent dress, then yes."

And with that, I smiled shyly at him and walked away to the docks. I then looked around and dove into the cold water. I swam left and right until I reached a small opening to this amazing cave with diamonds in the ceiling. When I was younger, I found this place while swimming. It lit up with only the reflection of the water and diamonds' light. I stuck me toes in the soft sand and sighed.

"Coora," I said to meself. "Y-y-ye just spoke w-w-with the Prince of... E-England, a-a-and he a-a-a-asked y-you to the b-ball. W-w-what should ye do?"

I paced around the large area. I rubbed me forehead as I tried to think of a place where I could get a dress. I didn't own any... wait. ME MOTHER! Surely she had a dress from when she was younger and in England! Coora, you are in for somethin'. Just somethin'.
