Chapter 8

I watched with intense anticipation as the short skeleton passed me, sitting in a large nearby chair. It looked worn down and well used, making a creaking noise when Sans made contact with it.
" Come sit kiddo "  I nodded, feeling my heart quiver with fear. I could tell that Sans hid something behind that smile of his. Was he the boss? Had he replaced the old one if he was? At the point, despite my fear , anything seemed possible. Monsters existed, the mafia was practically on my doorstep and now I was sat beside a skeleton who wanted to question me. I was willing to believe anything at this point. I watched quietly as Sans crossed his legs over one another, chuckling gently as he did. It set me on edge, not knowing what was so funny.
" So, Laura , tell me about y'self " I jolted from my spot on the couch, watching as the skeleton's smile widened, seeming like he took joy in seeing confusion and fear. I had never told him my name, he called me kiddo up until now. I began to shake, unsure of what to say. How much did he know about me? Obviously not everything if he wanted to ask me questions. I cleared my throat, breaking the tense silence. I needed to speak up, knowing we would be there all night otherwise.
" How did you know my name? " I know it was gutsy but I needed him to answer me first, my heart wanting to finally be set at ease from all the fear that the skeleton had inflicted. Sans quickly put out his cigar and uncrossed his legs, leaning forward and resting on his knees.
" None of ya concern kiddo " Ok. I could live with that answer, not wanting to question him further. I watched, horror overfilling my heart as his eye began to glow blue, the flame flickering and gently illuminating the room around us. I sighed, knowing that perusing for answers wouldn't be easy, it was best to comply with the monster's wishes. I was willing to tell him. I couldn't hide anything from the mafia.
