[10] Fashion Party Au
It's not quite what you asked for, I mean, it is, but it's also different, but I hope it's good enough. I certainly enjoyed writing it.
T.W. Cavity Inducing Fluff
It wasn't uncommon to find Roman and Patton browsing stores that had a lot of 'female' clothing in them or to find them in the dressing rooms with piles of dresses, skirts, and all sorts of other clothing items. In fact, it was how they spent a lot of their time over the weekends, whether it be in a store, or Roman emptying out his closet and the two pairing whatever they could together and wearing it.
They would often go around together and find random items they liked, and then try to pair them with other things, before going to find shoes, which sometimes proved to be more difficult than planned.
They held one another's hand, not wanting to stray too far from each other. If one saw something they liked, they would both go over to it, and talk about it, before they decided if it was worth it or not.
Roman seemed to find clothes easier than Patton did, even though Roman seemed to have higher standards than Patton, not that either minded, the more time they spent in the store, the more time they spent with one another.
Roman smiled as Patton looked over another article of clothing, trying to decide whether or not to try it on, and if he did, which size would be the best for him.
He was finally convinced to try it on, and Roman didn't hesitate in pulling him to the fitting rooms, so they could start their madness.
Roman was a fast changer, he liked being in and out of the outfits, making it less time spent shopping, it wasn't that he didn't like it, it was just easier to be quick about it, whereas Patton was slower, and took his time to admire each of the outfits, making sure it was the right one.
Roman's first outfit was a glittery gold top, with a red skirt, and some knee-high red boots, with a four-inch heel on. He looked rather good if he did say so himself.
As he strutted out of the fitting room, his mouth went dry, and his chin dropped to the floor (figuratively) when he saw Patton in his first outfit. Roman looked good, but Patton looked drop dead gorgeous.
He was wearing a silver skirt, paired with a light blue tank top, and some grey flats. It was simple, but it was so damn him, and it looked so damn good.
"Ro, you look amazing!" Patton grinned and bounded over to his boyfriend, who flushed at his compliment.
Roman tried to form some sort of response, normally, he wouldn't be this tongue-tied, but there was something about how Patton looked that rendered him speechless.
"As do you, my love."
Patton giggled, and did a little twirl, showing off his selected outfit. Roman loved taking Patton out shopping, and watching him try on all the different outfits, there wasn't one that he looked bad in, and Roman wouldn't ever be able to get over how stunning he was.
"Outfit two time!" Patton grinned, and pushed Roman back into his changing room, before going back into his own.
Roman's second outfit was a red skintight dress, reaching his mid-thigh, coupled with a pair of red strappy heels. He always felt more confident in that style of dress, but he felt rather confident in a lot of clothing.
He smiled to himself and walked out, noticing Patton wasn't yet out. He knocked on his boyfriend's door, frowning when Patton didn't reply for a minute.
"Pat?"
"One minute... It's not... Quite right."
After a moment of waiting, Patton pulled his door open, and Roman thought he would pass out from how stunning his boyfriend looked.
He stood in a mid-thigh length blue skater skirt, paired with a black button-up, similar to what their friend Logan would wear, and a pair of black flats. It was so simple, but it was so Patton, and it looked amazing on him.
"Roro, you look so good!" Patton grinned, and let his eyes trail up and down his boyfriend's body a few times.
Roman smiled and pulled his boyfriend closer to him, the height difference being more noticeable when Roman was wearing the heels.
Patton giggled, and pressed a kiss to his boyfriend's lips, smiling as he kissed back.
"Mi amour, you look simply fabulous." Roman finally commented on Patton's appearance, causing him to frown.
"It doesn't look right, something is missing, and I don't know what." Patton tugged at the edges of the skirt and sighed slightly.
"I think you look amazing, and maybe a small headband would complete the look?"
"I don't know. Maybe. Let's move on." He forced a small smile and watched as his boyfriend sautered back into his fitting room.
The third outfit was Roman's favourite on the hangers, and he hoped it looked just as good on him, but who was he kidding, everything looked amazing on him. It was a pair of red shorts, a white t-shirt that was slightly cropped, and a pair of white flats.
As he unlocked and opened the door, he was met with an adorable sight. Patton was dressed in a light blue floaty dress, decorated with light pink flowers, and a pair of pink flats that matched the flowers.
"Pat you... Wow." Roman's words failed him, and he couldn't take his eyes off his boyfriend, happy to see him in such a him outfit. Of course, all the outfits he chose were his style, but the dress was more him than any of the other things he tried on.
"Thanks, Ro! You look fantastic too! You should get that outfit, and wear it. A lot." Patton giggled, a light pink dusting his cheeks.
"Well, I happen to think you should get that dress since you look so... Ravishing." Roman finally found the word he was looking for and grinned as Patton's blush darkened.
Roman pulled him closer, connecting their lips, not caring that they had another outfit to try on, they had hardly kissed, and Roman was craving the feeling of his boyfriend's lips against his own.
Patton wrapped his arms around Roman's neck, pulling him that bit closer, pressing their bodies together.
"I love you," Patton mumbled against Roman's lips, causing Roman to shiver at the slight vibrations it sent.
"I love you too." Roman smiled and pecked his boyfriend's lips one last time before ushering him back into the fitting room to try on the last outfit.
Roman smiled to himself as he pulled on the blazer, he rather liked this outfit. It was the one he was most sceptical about since he wasn't ever one for more formal clothing, but it seemed to work for him.
He was wearing a red sparkly blazer, over the top of a white shirt, which was unbuttoned at the top, red pants, and some formal white shoes. He admitted to himself that he was able to really pull it off for a future formal event, such as a wedding between him and a certain boyfriend of his, not that Patton knew anything about his plans, yet.
He smiled and walked out, only to be met with an adorable Patton in a light blue blazer, the sleeves rolled back to his elbows, a white shirt, with a pair of grey pants, and light blue shoes.
He watched with a small smile as Patton's eyes widened, and he looked Roman up and down a few times.
"You could totally pull that off if we ever get married." He finally spoke up.
"'If'implies that we won't last, dear Pat."
"Well, we don't know what might happen."
"No, but there is nothing wrong with hoping that one day, hopefully in the near future, we will be getting married, standing at the altar, saying our vows, soon followed by 'I do'." Roman grinned, pulling Patton closer. "Then, what's the word... The Priest, or whatever, would say 'you may now kiss the groom' and I would pull you closer, there would be Virgil, Logan, and their baby girl, as well as Thomas and hopefully his boyfriend, and maybe their child, and a few other people from our families all sat there, watching, but it wouldn't matter, because you'd be my husband, and I'd kiss you." Roman closed the gap between them, holding his love close.
The two only parted when Roman realised he hadn't yet complimented Patton on his outfit, which he really ought to do since Patton made sure to compliment him as soon as he saw him.
"My dear, you look simply divine, I would not wish for you to wear anything other than this at our wedding." Roman smiled, pulling his Patton closer, once more, before reconnecting their lips.
"But Ro, I can't wear this at our wedding."
"Whyever not?" Roman frowned, looking Patton up and down. He didn't see anything wrong with what he was wearing, nor why he shouldn't wear it.
"Because you haven't proposed, silly. We can't have a wedding if the proper steps aren't taken."
"Mi amour, I am well aware of the steps that are required, but, we must buy these today, for the day will come sooner than either of us realise."
"What are you saying, Roman?" Patton scanned Roman's face, and for a split-second, Roman felt bad about leaving his adorable puffball in the dark.
"You will know soon enough, my love." Roman pecked his nose, leaving Patton a giggly mess. "Now, let us change, and by the suits, and one other outfit of your choice. My treat." Roman made no move to let Patton go, leaving Patton subject to multiple more kisses before they headed back to their changing rooms.
Patton's choice was the floaty dress and the pink shoes, but if Roman had the money, he would have bought Patton all four of his outfits, since he looked so darn cute in them all. Roman had decided on the shorts and cropped shirt, with the white flats.
They went to look at some of the accessories and chose a couple to match the outfits before they went to pay. Patton wasn't best pleased with the total cost, but he knew Roman wouldn't have let him pay, even if he wanted to.
Their last stop, before home, was a small cafe they went to every time they were out together, owned by their friends, Logan and Virgil, who had married a few months earlier.
They always got the same drinks and a muffin to sit and share, and they spent their time talking and occasionally roping Virgil into joining them at their table, which usually made Logan join them too. The cafe was often quiet, which didn't make it too much of an issue for customers. The hour they spent there with their friends helped ground them after a happy, giggly afternoon.
Before long, they were going home, Roman getting ready to initiate the next part of his "Pampering and Proposing to Patton Plan."
He ushered Patton off to their bathroom, where he'd set up some candles, and a nice bubble bath, allowing him to relax, and await a nice long evening of cuddle sessions, movies, and a surprise.
Roman set about making the room calming, with a nice scent of lavender floating around in the background, he set out four of Patton's favourite movies and laid out the snacks they were going to have for the evening.
All too soon, Roman was pressing a soft kiss to Patton's forehead, making him realise how cold the water had become, and the relaxing atmosphere seemed to have drifted elsewhere.
Roman gave Patton his privacy in changing into a pair of soft pyjamas, before leading him back to their bedroom, making Patton gasp at how everything was laid out.
"Sun?"
"I wanted to treat you, we don't get to have many full days together, so I wanted to make sure today was perfect."
"Ro, any day I spend with you is perfect." Patton smiled and pecked his boyfriend's nose, before said boyfriend led him to the bed, and put in the first movie.
By the end of the third movie, almost all of the snacks had gone, and there was only one thing left for Roman to do.
He reached into the drawer by their bed and gripped onto the small box he had stashed in there. He paused the introduction to the movie and got Patton to turn to him.
"Patton, mi amour, we have been through so much together the past four years, and I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend, but it got me thinking, maybe we shouldn't be boyfriend's anymore." He held up a hand, showing Patton he wasn't finished and didn't want him jumping to conclusions. "So, I took it upon myself to set up the best day for us to spend as the last day of us being boyfriends. We spent it the same way we did as our first date, and so, I think this has gone on long enough." He pulled out the box, and opened it, holding it out in front of him. "Patton, would you do me the honours of marrying me?"
"Ro? That's what this was all about? Your elaborate plan to propose?"
"Yes."
Patton grinned, tears filling his eyes. "I would love to marry you." He lept into Roman's arms, half laughing, half crying.
"I love you, mi amour."
"I love you too."
Roman slid the band onto his finger, and the two went back to watching their last movie, sharing many kisses, and loving every minute of being curled up with one another.
BONUS:
Logan and Virgil sat in the seats, their baby girl Maria in Virgil's lap, cooing at her dads. Thomas and his boyfriend sat next to them, Thomas waving and grinning at Maria, who would giggle and coo more.
They fell silent when the organ began to play, and they all stood, turning to face the end of the aisle, waiting for the 'bride'.
Patton linked arms with his sister, and the two walked to the front of the room, where Roman stood, eyes filling with tears as he laid eyes on his fiance.
The wedding wasn't anything spectacular, just a few people, and the soon to be husbands, with a small ceremony, and then a small buffet and ballroom dance, in their living room.
"Mi amour, you look simply stunning," Roman spoke after Patton and his sister let go of one another.
Patton couldn't stop the blush coating his cheeks, or keep the small giggle from escaping his lips. He wanted to compliment Roman back, but the words wouldn't form, and as he laid eyes on his soon to be husband, his heart skipped a beat, and he fell in love all over again.
The vows went by in a blur, and Patton couldn't recall what was said if he tried, but it didn't matter, as soon as the band was slid onto Roman's finger, and he was pulled closer, much like back in the department store, nothing else mattered. He met Roman halfway, their first kiss as a newly married couple, and Patton couldn't be happier.
They soon parted, and smiled giddily at one another, they couldn't be more smitten if they tried, not that it mattered, being smitten with one another got them where they were, and they were too happy with one another to care about much else.
The rest of the evening went by in a blur, and before they knew it, they were lying in bed, fingers laced with one another's, and they were on their backs, staring at the ceiling, trying to catch up with the day's events.
"I love you, my sun." Patton mumbled, turning his head to look at Roman, who smiled and looked back at him.
"I love you too, my husband." Roman grinned, and pulled Patton in for a short, sweet kiss, loving how they seemed to melt together.
That night, they slept cuddled close to one another, and they realised it was much like the first time they shared a bed, they didn't care about the other's space, they just wanted cuddles, and it was perfect. Life was perfect.
