Chapter one ~ a special day
It was the middle of a seemingly peaceful night on a little island. The cold and windy weather, was quite the opposite from what you would expect when you hear the word island.
The only village on the whole isle was completely silent and you could only hear the wind blowing from time to time. It always was like this at this time of the year.
Suddenly the silence was interrupted by an loud scream, followed by a few gun shots. This night was also known as the cursed night, be-
"Princess!" A voice yelled. I quickly looked up from my book to see my maid Lust. "Are you reading this book again, princess?" She asked, giggling slightly.
"Yeah..." I answered, not facing her. "Don't worry, princess, I can't blame you, it is a really great book!" The maid said, smiling "But you have to go to bed now! Tomorrow is your big day!"
I sighed. I always hated being a princess and Lust knew this. Heck, the whole castle probably knew this, but I couldn't do anything about, so I'm always trying to make the best out of it, wich sadly didn't really work.
I placed the book on my nightstand and snuggled into my sheets. "Good Night, princess!" Lust whispered when, she closed the door silently.
After a while of just laying in the bed I began to think about tomorrow and sighed. Tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday and my father, King Asgore, wanted to celebrate it with a party.
I didn't really liked the thought of being the center of everything, but I don't want to hurt fathers feelings, after all he did for me and my two younger brothers, Fresh and Error. He adopted and raised us, he even allowed me to wear jeans when I wasn't in public or we didn't had any guests.
I sure liked king fluffybuns, a nickname an old friend of him gave him. Everyone liked him. He was a good king, who cared about his people, but from time to time he was too soft.
Like that time he spared a known killer, wich nearly caused a rebellion, luckily that was prevented by our old judge, who disappeared mysteriously after that. All this thinking made me tired and I slowly fell asleep.

I lazily sat in my cabin, looking at a map, when someone knocked at the door. "Yeah?" The door swung open and Dust, my first mate, came in.
"Captain Reaper, I'm here to tell ya that we're about to arrive at our destination!" He informed me, his hands in the pockets of his jacket. "Oh good, tell everyone that they can go to sleep when we dropped the anchor." I ordered, in a rather bored tone.
"Aye!" He yelled and was about to leave when I interrupted him, with a mischievous grin on my face, saying "Oh and Dust, don't watch Blue while he's sleeping again!" He rolled his eyes, groaning and closed the door.
I chuckled while studying the map again. The kingdom where monsters and humans united, it's been long since I've been here the last time. I wonder how everything changed, heh pretty sure King Fluffybuns wouldn't be so happy to see us again, but who would be if they had to face a group of criminals, who nearly stole one of the most powerful belongings of the kingdom.
We probably had to use our human forms, if we would go into the capital, wich was very likely since the capital was the nearest city and we had fill up our stocks. Wait how do we sneak Blue, into the city, since he forgot how to turn into his human form... was he even with us, when we were here the last time? Meh, I don't think that's important.
I sat on my bed, leaning against the wall. Being a captain sure was exhausting, even if I had a really small crew. With me, we were only five people. Dust, my first mate, Blue, the healer, Papyrus, the cook and Sans the navigator. Yeah, it may be small but it still was exhausting. Especially since all of them had... their 'problems'.
Blue's probably the best example. He has amnesia and forgot nearly everything! We had to teach him how to eat and swallow things! Luckily he didn't forget how to breath.
Or Dust. When he loses control, he's more like a literal monster. He'd kill everything that's in his way. Heh, no wonder king Fluffybuns hates us. I sighed, smiling and closed my eyes, after laying onto my bed, not bothering to put any sheets above me.

The sun only began to rise, but the whole castle was already awake. Savants and maids ran through halls bringing decorations and other party stuff into the ball room.
Lust was on her way to wake the princess up. She opened the door and windows to let the sun shine into the room.
Geno, the princess, groaned not wanting to get up yet. "Morning princess! And happy birthday!" Lust cheered after she closed the door again.
No one really knew this, but Lust and Geno weren't only princess and maid, they were best friends. "Thanks..." Geno murmured, watching her personal maid from her bed.
"Get up! We don't want anyone to wait!" Lust clapped and Geno slowly sat on her bed. "First off you have to turn into your human form, princess! We wouldn't want that everyone sees your..." "Yeah, I know!" Geno interrupted her.
Lust chuckled, when the princess turned from a skeleton into a young woman with white hair, which covered one of her red and blue eyes. A strange eye color, but if you compare her to her two brothers, she's the most normal of them.
Error was black boned and had strange blue marks on his cheeks. His eyes were mismatched, one was only a white dot, while the other was blue with a yellow ring around it. And that not only counted for his skeleton form, but also for his human form, with the difference, that his skin was dark grey.
No one really knew why he was like that, but if someone would stare at him or asked a dump question, the only response they would get a glare.
Fresh, the youngest of them, was strange in the way he acted. He didn't understand emotions and spoke pretty strange. The clothes he wore always were very colorful and often very light. It almost hurt, when you looked at him.
Geno raised from her bed and let Lust do what she had to do. The maid, searched for a dress and shoes first, and since Geno had to wear them all day, they had to be comfy but still elegant. In the end, she chose a white dress with red and golden highlights and a white pair of heels.
Geno sighed when she began to put it on, getting help from Lust. Now, Lust began to brush the princesses hair and put it in place afterwards. She also added a few accessories, like earrings and a necklace, to the outfit.
The last thing Lust did, to complete Geno's outfit was putting her crown on her head. It was made of gold and had three rubies set into its top.
"You look absolutely beautiful!" Lust complemented and led the princess to a mirror. Geno eyed herself for a moment before nodding slightly.
Lust sighed. "I think it's time that you get breakfast! So, smile!" Geno nodded and immediately began to fake smile, after the two left the room.
"Why do we have to wear this again?" A voice asked from the dining room. "Because it's Genos birthday, you idiot!" Another one hissed. "Boys, please stop arguing." A third Voice sighed.
Lust giggled and knocked, while Geno rolled her eyes about her brothers argument. "King Asgore! The princess is here!" She said and opened the door.
This got everyone's attention immediately, even the boys stopped arguing, when they came in. "Geno, you look beautiful!" Asgore exclaimed, smiling very happy. Error and Fresh nodded in agreement. They both wore pretty formal clothing's, wich probably upset Fresh since he didn't like them at all.
Everyone sat down and the breakfast was served, Porridge with some fruits as side dish. It was pretty silent most of the time and it didn't really felt like a 'special day'.
After everyone ate up, the second lead of the royal guard, Edge, his sister, who was also in the royal guard, Fell and the judge, Honey, were brought into the room by a servant.
"You asked for us, you majesty?" Edge said, kneeling when he entered the room. Fell kneeled too, while Honey just watched them, mostly of laziness, but also because the judge is as powerful as the king, so he didn't had to be so formal to the king. "Yes, where's Undyne?" Asgore replied. "She had to take care of something important, so she couldn't come with us, but she'll join us later!" Was Edge's answer.
"Alright, is the carriage ready?" Asgore asked, smiling slightly. "Of course! You can use it anytime you want!" "Good, we will be on our way now!" And with that the boss monster raised from his chair and walked out of the room, followed by his three children and some servants.
Meanwhile at the market, a skeleton in human form, with white hair and mismatched eyes, one red, one white, seemed to debate something with herself. She was standing in front of a stall, which sold chocolate.
'I don't know... should I really buy this chocolate? I mean, it sure looks delicious, but it's expensive and I also have to buy more equipment for my next adventure.' Were her thoughts.
In the end she sadly left the stall, since she didn't had enough money. "Are you okay Cross?" A voice asked. The young woman or Cross looked at the owner of the voice and immediately recognized her friend Outer.
"Hi Outer and no! I had to leave the tasty looking chocolate because it was too expensive!" Cross whined, in a cute voice. Outer chuckled a bit and said "You and your chocolate." "What?! Chocolate is super delicious! It's ma world!" Cross exclaimed.
"Yeah, yeah, anyways did you know that the king and his children are going to have a carriage ride through the capital?" Outer asked. "No, really?" "Yup, and according to all of the people that are running into the same direction, it's very likely that he's actually here!"
"No way! I wanna see him!" Cross exclaimed as she ran into a huge crowd of people. Outer could barely follow her. "Hey wait for me!" He shouted, but Cross didn't slow down a bit.
When they arrived, Outer panted heavily. "Are you really out of breath just because of a little bit running?" Cross asked, raising an eyebrow. "What?! I'm just an astronomer what do you expect from me?!" He shouted panting.
Cross couldn't say anything, because she was interrupted by the sound of hooves coming closer. Everyone looked into the direction and cheered when they saw a big roofless carriage coming closer.
It was white and had golden highlights. In the carriage were the King himself Asgore, his three adopted children, Geno, Error and Fresh, the head of the royal guard, Undyne, her second commander, Edge, the royal scientist, Alphys and the judge Honey. The royal family was waving to the crowd, from their seats, while Honey was leaned back, not caring at all. Edge looked into the crowd with a stern expression and Undyne chatted a bit with Alphys.
Around it walked a few royal guard members for safety and some servants and maids. The coachman was a skeleton and seemed to be in the royal guard too. They wore a red pullover and a black jacked, wich had fur on the hood. The skeleton also had sharp teeth and what really stood out was a golden one. You couldn't really tell if it actually was a he or a she, but that wasn't important anyways.
The carriage already left the street and the many people began to walk their own way again, when suddenly someone bumped into Cross sending her to the ground. "Oh I'm sorry! Are you okay?" They quickly apologized and held out their hand. "Yeah I'm fine, don't worry." Cross said smiling, taking it.
It was a small skeleton, that wore a blue bandanna around his neck, a light gray T-shirt, blueish grey trousers and a blue pair of boots. "My name's Blue! Nice to meet cha!" They cheered. Cross couldn't really tell if it was a he or a she.
"I'm Cross and this is Outer!" She introduce them. "Blue?! Where are you?!" A voice yelled. "Oh I have to go! I hope we can see each other again! Bye!" They waved and ran to a tall man with grey hair and mismatched eyes. He wore a blue jacket with a grey hood and black shorts. Something about him, made Cross shudder.
"How comes that guy has grey hair? He doesn't seem that old! And he can't be a skeleton, since skeletons always have white hair in their human form..." Outer thought loudly. "That's not always the case, Prince Error for example! He has black hair!" Cross argue. "Yeah... but still!"
Outer chuckled a bit realizing he couldn't win this. "Welp, I gotta go now! See ya!" He waved and walked away, turning into a random street. Cross waved back and went, after looking around her like a criminal would do, into the direction of the forest.
"You can come out now!" She whispered, opening a pocket of her jacket. Something jumped out and seemed to stretch itself. "Ugh, finally!" It muttered. "Sorry Chara! That took longer than I expected." Cross scratched her head. "Yeah, I heard everything."
Chara, a little, white slime, sighed "Anyway, ready to train?" "Yup!" Cross said, summoning a giant knife. "Alright then! Ready? Go!" The slime yelled and dodged an attack from Cross, that came right after their command.
While they trained Chara yelled a lot of things like:
"Too slow!"
"More focus!"
"Was That all you've got?!"
"Good luck next time!"
Little did they know, that they were being watched.
~meanwhile at the castle + another tem skip~
It was pretty late now. The ball rooms were full of people, mostly servants and maids, since most of the invited kingdoms didn't had time. Only two kingdoms actually came.
Princess Dream, Prince Nightmare and some of their servants, came from the kingdom of dreams. Princess Ink from the kingdom of art (Wow best names ever!-.-) also had time.
Ink was talking to Error, who seemed to blush a lot, while Nightmare talked to King Asgore and Dream chatted a bit with Geno. The two princess got along pretty well, even if Geno was really tomboyish from time to time, while Dream was more an little angel.
Lust leaned against a wall and watched everything, until another skeleton walked towards her. He was in human form and had strange marks on his cheeks. It look as if he had cried with a lot of eyeliner. His eyes were nearly completely black, the maid could barely make out his dark grey pupils. His spiky hair was light grey and he wore a servant outfit in yellow and orange colors.
"Can I help you with something?" Lust asked politely. "Yes, were are the toilets?" He asked, turning his head from side to side. "Go down the hall over there, turn left and you're there!" The maid explained, smiling. "Thanks" he said and began to walk to the hallway Lust was pointing at.
She relaxed a bit, but then someone leaned against the wall next to her. It was also a skeleton in human form. He had one red eye, while the other was completely white, it didn't even had a pupil. His white hair was a bit red, as if he had been bleeding there. He also wore a servant outfit, but in darker colors than the one that Lust saw before. He muttered something, when he noticed Lust, looking at him.
"Oh hello." He greeted. "Hello." Lust giggled a bit when she saw the taller ones slight confusion. "You okay there bud?" She asked, knowing that it wasn't the most formal way to say it, but something told her, that he wouldn't mind it. "Yeah, I just didn't see ya there. The names Horror." He held out his hand for her to shake it, wich she did. "I'm Lust. Nice to meet cha. Are you one of Nightmares and Dreams servants?" "Yup, I'm Nightmares personal servant actually." "Oh that's funny! I'm the personal maid of princess Geno!"
"Wha- really?" Horror exclaimed. "Yup." Lust nodded. "Wow, ya don't really talk like it." "You neither." Lust argued. Horror laughed a bit. "But when you're the princesses personal maid, then why aren't you in your human form?" He asked "The king doesn't want that I steal her the show." Was the reply.
Horror raised an eyebrow. "Are you that beautiful?" Lust blushed slightly and answered "I don't think that I'm more beautiful than the princess... it's something else." She looked at the floor in embarrassment. "Okay." Horror said confused. The maid really hated when someone asked her why she never was in her human form, it brought back bad memories.
Lust suddenly sensed something and teleported away quickly, knowing that it was the princess. "What the?!" Horror yelled in surprise. He looked into the crowd to find her and saw her next to the princess helping her up. She didn't seem to feel so well, since Lust also had to support her while walking.
Horror decided to help too, so he walked over to them. "Can I help you?" He offered. Lust nodded slightly and pointed at a golden plate that laid on the ground.
Horror nodded understanding the message and began to clean up the mess, some other servants soon joined him. The crowd around them slowly cleared and that's when he felt something glare at him. The servant's eyes slowly wandered to Asgore, where he met Nightmare's cold stare. Horror flinched, he knew Nightmare's plan, he would have to explain this later. But now that he thought about it, he didn't even knew why he actually helped.
Meanwhile Lust dragged the heavily breathing princess down the hall to her room. She carefully sat Geno down on her bed and got a medicine with a glass of water. Geno took both and gulped down a pill, with a rather disgusted face expression.
"Thank you, Lust." She thanked, as slowly began to breath normal again. "That's my job!" Lust smiled as she went to the door. "Take your time, I'm gonna tell everyone that you're alright!" Geno nodded slightly and Lust closed the door.
The maid decided to teleport again and landed right next to Asgore, who spit his drink out in shock. "Lust! Don't scare me like that!" He exclaimed, coughing slightly. "Oh forgive me my king, I just wanted to assure you that Geno is fine! She'll rest for a bit and then come back." She apologized. "That's good to hear." Asgore sighed.
"It sure is!" Prince Nightmare, who was next to Asgore all the time, agreed. He had, like Error, black hair, wich covered one of his eyes, and wore a crown with a crescent moon on it. "It would be shame if someone died on their birthday, especially their eighteenth." The maid didn't like the aura of the prince, something about it was suspicious.
Lust nodded and bowed, before she walked away, after looking at Nightmare suspicious one last time. She saw the man that asked her for the toilets, looking around confused. He saw the maid and walked towards her.
"Excuse me, but what happened here?" He asked. "Oh, princess Geno didn't feel so well and that caused a bit tumult, that's all." Lust explained, as if it was nothing. "Oh, is she okay?" "Yes, she got her medicine and she's fine again. She only needs some rest."
"Oh good!" He smiled. "Oh yeah! We didn't introduced each other properly! I'm Killer, the personal servant of princess Dream." "Hello Killer! My name's Lust and I'm the personal maid of princess Geno." The smaller skeleton introduced herself.
She was about to ask him something, when a scream erupted the ball room. Everyone turned around to see a horrifying scene. Prince Nightmare, who was covered in some kind of goop, stabbed King Asgore, with tentacles. The goat monster seemed to whisper something, before slowly turned into dust his soul disappearing almost immediately. More screams could be heard, when guards from the kingdom of dreams began to attack.
Lust quickly teleported away. She appeared right in front of Geno's door and slammed it open. Geno jumped slightly, but calmed a bit down when she saw that it was Lust.
"Lust? What is going on?" She asked worried. "You have to get out of here! Code D!" The skeleton yelled. Geno's eye widened. "W-what?! Father's dead?!" "Prince Nightmare stabbed him!"
The princess nodded, grabbed her medicine and a red scarf she was holding and put in on, desperately trying to hide her sadness with an angered face expression. "Alright one last time for this day!" Lust shouted, as she teleported herself and Geno to the stables.
The first thing they saw, were a few royal guard members, but before they could talk to them, boney hands clasped over their mouths and they got pulled behind a haystack. They both let out a muffled scream.
The princess and the maid looked behind them, but calmed down when they recognized Fell, one of the most loyal royal guard members. Her red eyes glowing in the darkness
"Be quit! If they see you, they'll try to capture you! Their traitors!" She hissed and pulled her hands away from their mouths. "What?! Why?!" Geno whisper yelled. "Mostly because of my brother... luckily not every member is bad, some stayed loyal, but they were captured, luckily I could escape! We somehow have to break through their blockade." Fell murmured, trying to explain everything in a short amount of time.
"Just leave that to me." Lust said determinedly. "No, you have to stay on my side!" Geno argued. "No, I have to inform the other servants and maids about our code D." Lust said, as she slowly sneaked out of their hideout.
"Good, but I order you to insure that everyone stays alive, including you!" Geno hissed. "I see what I can do Princess! Fell... please take good care of the princess!" Was the last thing the maid said before she left the safe shadows of the haystack. Fell saluted and dragged the princess towards two horses.
"All of you have to come into the castle!" Lust yelled, a bit overdramatic. The royal guard members only looked at her, not moving an inch. "The king was killed and we're being attacked!" She shouted.
"Hehe, sorry sweetheart, but they won't obey you!" A voice laughed. Lust turned around to see two skeletons walking towards her. One was taller than the other, he wore similar clothes to Fell, only with an orange pullover, while Fell had red one.
The smaller was the one that spoke. Lust could say by his uniform and his cocky attitude, that he probably was the captain of the royal guard in the kingdom of dreams.
"Oh you found Lust, good." Another voice chuckled. Said skeleton already knew that Edge was the one talking. "Why don't you show yourself!" Lust shouted, challenging.
Edge slowly went out of shadows, rolling his eyes. "Tell me were the princess is." He ordered. "No." Was the answer. A sharpened bone attack hit the ground next her foot. "Tell me, or the next attack will hit you!" Edge yelled.
Lust didn't say anything. Edge grumbled and summoned more bone attacks, but Lust was gone. Suddenly he felt pain in his chest, he looked at his left to see the one and only Lust.
The maid somehow managed it, to hit him right in the chest. That caused all the royal guard members to rush over to them. They tried hold her in place, wich wasn't easy, because she struggled a lot. "NOW!" She yelled and before anyone could react two horses galloped out of the gate, that luckily was opened.
"Go after them!" Edge ordered, but unfortunately for them, all the other horses were freed and ran through the courtyard.
The small skeleton with the cocky attitude smirked. "You sure are clever. It should be fun to tame you." He chuckled sadistic, making Lust gulp slightly.
