Bonus Chapter 4

*insert terrible off key singing here* I don't really know what to write about this time!

I'm sure I'll figure it out. Oh. Hey...

...

Yixing's POV

...

"YIXING!" I bolted upright as something jarred me out of my sleep. I looked around, still a bit groggy and slow. "Yixing, Hyeja just called. Get dressed. We have to go." Junmyeon seemed utterly frantic, running around trying to put himself together. I dug my palms into my eyes.

"What time is it Jun?" I asked, watching him run around. He snatched up a backpack kept on my vanity in case... "Oh, OH," I gasped, throwing the covers back. "No way! It's time?"

"It's time," Junmyeon said, looking nervous yet excited at the same time. "God Xing can we do this? Can we? Are we actually doing this?" I chuckled, finally rising out of the bed and grabbing him by the shoulders as he zipped by. He glanced up to me. "Sorry," he apologized. "I'm just...scared."

"Junnie, you are perfectly fine," I told him. "No need to apologize." I planted a kiss on his forehead. "No, I'm not really ready either. But as soon as we get there I know we'll be ready." I wrapped my arms around him now, feeling him sink against me. "Alright, we'd better go," I added. "I'll go get Luhan. You finish up here."

"Alright," he agreed, detaching himself from me and continuing to run around. I pulled on a pair of jeans and a sweater. "Love you." I smiled to myself as I left, hearing him call that over his shoulder. At twenty five it no longer sent the same excited tingle down my spine like it used to, but instead nestled inside me and warmed me. Calmed me. Kept me steady. Junmyeon always had a way of doing that.

"Luhan?" I called, knocking on his door. Shortly after I took over from father, my first act was to get Luhan out of the servants wing and up here with me. Luhan was way more than just my assistant; he was my family. I winced when a tiny cry replied to me. "Shit," I swore softly, swinging the door open. Luhan sat at the edge of the bed, his wife, Yu Yan, crouched behind him. Luhan rocked a tiny bundle in his arms. "Sorry," I apologized, bowing to them as I approached. "I didn't mean to wake Li Jie up."

"You're alright Xing," Luhan assured, kissing the tiny baby's head. His cries had soften as his parents' voices. For a few seconds I stood there, admiring their tiny family. Once Junmyeon and I wed, and we spent time travelling between both countries, Luhan finally took the time to focus on himself. Four years ago he told me he would be getting married. And now they had their son, Li Jie, only four months old. "What brings you here anyway?" Luhan asked.

"Oh yes," I said, finally kicked back into gear. "Hyeja just called Junmyeon. It's time." Luhan's expression lit up. "I want you to come with," I explained. "It's only fitting." Luhan turned to Yu Yan.

"Dear?" he asked in a pleading tone. She smiled fondly, reaching out and taking the tiny bundle from him. Li Jie cooed softly, about making me melt. She leaned over and pecked Luhan's cheek.

"Of course you can go," she replied. Luhan wrapped one arm around her waist and gave her a gentle squeeze. I grinned madly. It felt so good to see Luhan happy too. "Say hi to everyone for me, alright?" This part she said to me, turning her attention my way as Luhan got dressed off to the side. I nodded distractedly. We'd been waiting days for this call. However, now that it was here, I felt...nervous? Scared? Wired? All of the above. But I couldn't wait.

"Let's go." Luhan's voice pulled me back to reality. "We don't have much time now." I nodded. He grabbed his own backpack, already made up, and led the way out of the room. We met up with Junmyeon in the hallway.

"Okay, yeah," he mumbled into his phone. "Yeah we're on the way now. We'll be there as soon as we can." He paused, his eyes going wide. "Already? Yeah, uh huh, we'll hurry. We'll see you guys soon. Yep, love you too. Bye." Junmyeon hung up, turning to me. "She's already at the hospital," he announced. "Apparently this has been happening for awhile now. Mother and father are on their way there." Junmyeon heaved a breath, rolling his shoulders. "Yixing, our boy is on the way. Are you ready?" I threw my head back and laughed, startling him. But soon he joined in. I grabbed his hands and we spun in circles.

"I've been ready since she was four months along," I told him. I kissed the tip of his nose. "Our son." The words rolled off my tongue, so sweet sounding. "Our son is on the way."

"Come on, we have to go," Junmyeon said, tugging my hands. "Mother said she'd been in labor for a few hours now. They wanted to be sure he was coming before they called."

"Let's get going then," I replied. And off the three of us raced to see the newest member of our ragtag family.

...

Junmyeon's POV

...

"Hello boys," mother greeted as we burst into the private wing we rented out specifically for this occasion. We paused to give her hugs like we did every time we met up with her. "Hyeja is doing well," mother continued, leading us along. "In pain, but that's normal, trust me." We scurried along behind her. I wiped my palms on my pants. As ready as I felt, it still seemed strange that tomorrow I would be a dad.

"Do we need to do anything?" Yixing asked. Thank god he was the sensible one. I was freaking out right now. Mother pursed her lips thoughtfully.

"Not yet," she said. "Her family is with her right now. I'm sure she will ask for you guys at some point. Better get yourselves comfortable." She led us right to a small waiting area. A handful of my staff, a few more members of Hyeja's family, and father sat around or stood near the vending machine's, chatting.

You probably want to know how Hyeja even ended up becoming our surrogate anyway. Let me tell you, it was one hell of an awkward conversation. Minji and Hyeja were the only two girls from my past dates I kept in any steady contact with. And after a few years of being together, Yixing began to develope a sort of wistful air about him, especially once some of our mutual acquaintances began siring children. At first it never clicked why he would always sigh but smile brightly and run to greet our friends, instantly fawning over their little ones. He never outright said anything, but one night while I attempted to fall asleep the puzzle pieced itself together. Yixing wanted kids.

We argued back and forth over the best course of action once I broached the idea to him. Surrogate was a must; neither of us could actually carry a child. We also debated who should have one first, since we both wanted a biological child. Finally we settled on me. But then I had to pick a surrogate. Only one name ever popped into my mind when it came to anything in my life that Yixing didn't already occupy. Hyeja. But would she even agree? I hadn't known if she'd even wanted kids. So I mustered all the courage I had and summoned her to the palace. I tripped over my words as I attempted to ask her, which she laughed and shook her head at. She readily agreed, telling me she'd felt honored that I'd even asked her.

That was ten months ago. The following month we both went to the facility, and a few weeks later, bam. She had a tiny bundle of embryos inside of her. I wasn't afraid to admit I wept when I heard the good news. And I cried again during one of her appointments and we found out it was a boy. Yixing teared up when I returned home and told him, sweeping me into his arms and twirling me around in delight.

"Junmyeon?" I jerked up at the sound of my name being called. As it was so late, and we'd rushed to get here, I'd started nodding off in my seat. But whenever I saw one of Hyeja's nurses I sprang up, swaying slightly from the sudden movement. "Hyeja wants to see you," she said. I turned to Yixing, who gave me a tired smile and a tiny pat on the back.

"Go see our girl," he told me. "She requested you after all." I sucked in a breath and nodded. All of this suddenly made it feel so much more real. I followed the nurse back to her room. My heart tore when I heard crying. I shoved passed the nurse to try and get to the room sooner.

"You bastard!" I ducked out of the way as a styrofoam cup came sailing over my head. "How could you do this to me?" Luckily, mother warned me about this. I sidled up to the side of her bed, taking one of her hands in both of mine. I ran my thumb over the back of her hand.

"You're doing great," I murmured just as another contraction seemed to strike. She let out a little scream, squeezing my hand a little tighter. I winced at the pressure, but talked soothingly to her until it passed. She sank against the pillows. "Yixing and I love you so much," I told her. She glanced to me, the tiniest little smile crossing her features. "You're doing great. Just a little while longer, okay?" Another contraction. She screamed and around me the doctors ran around, shouting things at one another. I pulled a chair up to sit at her side. Just a few more hours (hopefully) and I would finally meet my son.

Yixing's POV

...

"Yixing." I groaned as someone shook my shoulder, opening and then squinting my eyes against the bright florescent lights. I yawned, straighting my position, wincing at the pain in my side. Luhan grinned down at me. "Come with me," he said softly, helping me to my feet and guiding me down the hallway.

"Where are we going?" I asked. But then I heard it. A tiny, shrill cry. My heart rate rapidly sped up, as did my footsteps, until I was practically sprinting down the hallway ahead of Luhan. I paused at the final room at the end of the hallway, catching my breath and mentally preparing for what was inside. I peeked in. Hyeja lay in the bed, sleeping at last. And in a chair by her bedside sat my husband. In his arms sat a, now quiet, mass of blankets.

"Yixing," he greeted quietly, tear tracks visible on his face. "Come here." I approached slowly. Junmyeon shifted the blankets slightly, lowering one corner. And there, in his arms, laid our beautiful baby boy. He bounced him slightly. "Oh my god Yixing, he's so perfect," he breathed out. I knelt in front of him.

"May I?" I asked. Junmyeon only nodded, passing me the bundle. The baby squirmed inside, making little noises of discomfort. "Hey little fella," I whispered. "We've been waiting for you." I rocked him back and forth, leaning down and placing a tiny little kiss to his forehead. "Oh Junnie," I said, rising so we were even. Our foreheads met and he closed his eyes. "How long until we have to greet the press?" I asked.

"We have two more hours until they can take pictures," he replied. I sat back on my haunches, studying the man before me. The bags under his eyes indicated just how tired he was, but my god did his smile glow right now. "You were right," he told me. "As soon as he was here I was ready." He leaned down. "Whatever it takes. Anything for you little man."

"What's his name?" I finally asled the big question. We came to a mutual agreement that he could name him, since he was biologically Junmyeon's. At that, my husband smiled softly, reaching out and stroking our son's cheek.

"DaeHyun," he responded. "Kim DaeHyun." DaeHyun. I shot up and connected my lips with his as DaeHyun cooed to himself in his little cocoon.

"It's perfect Junnie," I mumbled against his skin. I felt him shudder. I sat back down, cuddling my son a little closer to me. "Welcome to the world DaeHyun," I whispered. It was now official. Junmyeon and I were dads!

...

Everyone wanted to see them with kids, and while this may not quite be what you meant, welcome their son all the same. Kim DaeHyun everybody!
