17 The Local Culprit
Part 17 The local Culprit
Khushi could not believe her father agreed to the marriage and he is also ready to send her to Delhi to do a job in AR. But how did it happen? What did Arnav tell him that he was so much ok with that? It's ok if he is fine with the marriage and asked to work for Arnav. But, how did he let her work in AR? How did Arnav make it possible? She wanted to go to Arnav and asked him about it. But she was hesitant to do that. Shashi knew she has feelings for Arnav then how could she casually enter his room? She waited for a right chance.
As she expected, Shashi left the clinic with a bag. That reminded her of Shashi's words. He wanted to go to Nainital to buy some basic materials for the clinic. Is he going to Nainital now? She slowly followed him and stood at the corner of the road, hiding behind a tree. Shashi stopped at the bus stand. Within five minutes the bus arrived. She made sure that the bus moved, taking Shashi. She rushed to Arnav without wasting time.
Arnav saw her rushing inside. Khushi came to him and kneeled in front of him.
*How did you make my Babuji agree to the marriage? * She asked excitedly.
*Is it? Did he agree? * Arnav asked as if he didn't know.
*Didn't he tell you anything? *
Arnav nodded no.
*He agreed to send me to Delhi to work in AR*
*Oh, that's great...* he extended his hand for a shake.
Khushi shook hands with him.
*What did you say that my Babuji changed utterly? *
*I said I love you...*
*That's all you said? *
*What else could I say? *
*But my Babuji was so frustrated, seeing us together...*
*Any father would have reacted the same like him if he sees his daughter with someone*
*Then how did you cool him down? *
*I did nothing... he understood that his daughter's happiness is important*
Khushi became thoughtful. Doesn't she know her father? Arnav flicked his finger and Khushi flinched back.
*What are you thinking? *
She nodded no.
*Your Babuji is ready to get us married... is not it enough for you? You looked confused...*
*Not like that Arnavji...*
*Then what? Are not you happy with your father's decision? *
*I'm so happy about it... but I can't understand how he agreed to it without making a fuss...*
*Do you want him to fuss? Call him... I will tell him to fuss you*
Khushi hit his shoulder pouting. Arnav laughed.
*You are so unique... you always react in the way no one does* Arnav chuckled.
*I'm so happy... I really can't believe Babuji agreed to our marriage. I was so worried about it because I know my Babuji. What he just did is totally opposite to his real nature*
*Human mind won't be like same always... he might have thought that I suit you more than anyone who could make your dream come true*
Khushi nodded yes.
*Get ready to go to Delhi...* Arnav smiled.
*But, how could I come? AR should not recruit for jobs...*
*They will...* he said confidently.
*How do you know? * Khushi frowned.
*Just a guess... *
*Oh... As ASR got vanished, the last interview should have been canceled... they may contact it again... right? *
*Yup...*
*Do you really want me to work for ASR? * Khushi asked.
*Why...? Don't you want to? It's your ambition, Khushi...*
*But you too have a company... it won't look good if I work for someone instead of you*
*Don't think so... AR has a very good reputation. You will get to know that when you reach it. And You don't have to give up your goal for me... As you wish, work in AR. And then decide*
*You are talking as if I got a job in AR already... Don't you know how hard it is to get a job in AR? *
*I believe you will get a job in AR for sure... you have potential*
*But, I'm a mere village girl... I just want to try. I don't think I will definitely get a job*
*Ok, try your best... don't think of the result...*
*Mmm*
*By the way, you said nothing about me...* Arnav asked.
*About you...? About what? *
*I shaved my beard off... had a haircut...*
Khushi tried not to smile.
*what's there to say? Every man does...*
*Rally? Am I not special for you? *
*Of course... you are. But I don't think there is something to be highlighted...*
*You know; you are so haughty-headed girl...*
Khushi dropped her jaw.
*Just because I don't say you look handsome and dashing, am I a haughty-headed girl? *
*So, am I looking handsome and dashing? *
*Haan, haan... you look fetching...* she said wearily.
*Can't you say that with a smile? *
*But you said I'm a haughty headed girl...*
*Then who you are if you hide the truth in your heart? *
*I will say it after our marriage...*
*Why...? Why not now? *
*Won't it sound like buttering you? *
Arnav laughed.
*I know you... you and buttering me...? *
*What do you know about me? *
*You are so straight forward girl... people suffocate to stand*
*Is it wrong being true? *
*No... but you were not truly admitted that I'm looking fetching...*
*It's different...*
*How?*
*You may feel superior...*
*Oh...* his brows went up.
*You may think I'm not equal to you...*
*Oh...*
*And, you may search for someone...*
Khushi sat next to him.
*Didn't anyone proposed to you before? *
Arnav shrank his eyes.
*Don't Delhi girls have a taste? How they left you to be single? *
Arnav controlled his smile.
*So, you are thinking that I will search for someone, leaving you behind? *
Khushi made a face.
*Don't you trust me? * Arnav asked.
*How could I trust you? I know nothing about you...*
*Will ASR betray anyone...? *
*No way... but why do you bringing him here? *
*How are you so confident about him? Do you know him? *
*I know him... he is a man of honor... he won't change his mind and words ever... that's what the reason of his success*
*You will get to know I won't change my mind and words when you come to Delhi*
*Will you take me to your house? * she asked amazingly.
Arnav nodded yes.
*What will you tell your family members? *
*I will say what I should say*
*You mean... will you tell them that you want to marry me? *
Arnav nodded yes.
*Are you sure? *
*Damn sure...*
*I will trust you if you do that*
*Really? *
*Of course, what else a girl needs other than a surety from her man?*
*Deal? *
*Yeah... pakka...*
*Done... * Arnav smirked.
They heard a footstep sound. Khushi stood from the bed. They saw NK coming.
*Nanne, Babuji agreed to our marriage* Khushi said gleefully.
NK looked at her unbelievably.
*Really? *
*Yes... Arnavji made him agree*
*Oh... tell that first...*
*Means...? *
*Anything is possible for Arnav Bhai...*
*I don't know how he covers up people* Khushi said wondering.
NK was about to say something, Arnav gestured to him not to. NK took the water jug and saw it empty.
*Khushi, please give me some water* NK asked.
Khushi nodded yes and left.
NK rushed to Arnav.
*Bhai, I have found who spread the break oil on the road...*
*Who? * Arnav asked gritting his teeth.
*He is not this village but the next village. Laalan his name is. He does underground work openly...*
*How do you know? *
*Didn't I say, my friend is there in the area? His neighbor boy saw him spreading oil on the road in the mid-night*
*Ok... don't go to the area again... we will deal with him after this plaster is removed* Arnav pointed his leg.
*Are we going to meet him?
*Not we... but me... you don't have to come with me... I will handle him...*
*But why? *
*You belong to this village. You don't have to interfere in this matter*
*We don't have to meet him openly... I have an idea...* NK said his idea.
Arnav became thoughtful.
*Say yes, Bhai*
Arnav nodded ok. He hoped he can get information from Laalan.
