Chapter Five : Your Queen

The story was all over the news within minutes, but Lucia didn't see any of it. In fact, she didn't know much of anything going on for the first few hours of her abduction.

She was in a dirty shed, unable to open the door and unable to escape. Her phone was taken away, no windows, and screaming wasn't doing anything.

Lucia laid on the ground, wondering what was going on. Ransom? Wouldn't she be safe if this was all ransom?

Her captors came a few times to bring her food, and each time they came, Lucia made a dash to get outside, resulting in being tied to the small bed they had in there.

There was nothing that she could do, a helpless little doll, and she hated it.

Th next day her captors had brought in a television and they turned it on and made Lucia watch as the imagine of Nicholas appeared on the screen.

"We have a special message from King Nicholas of Mendorra, regarding the kidnapping of Princess Lucia of Wales..." Lucia's eyes wide with terror, sure he was about to say something that would probably make the situation worse.

"Good afternoon. I wish to thank the volunteers assisting law enforcement agencies, and the family and friends of Princess Lucia -- all of whom who have given and continue to give their best efforts and interests in the police's determination to find resolve to the disappearance of our beloved princess. We've received a lot of phone calls and there's a lot of interest from the public. Many of you may be confused as to why I am here today and it is simply because Princess Lucia is my wife, the mother to be of our unborn children. Princess Lucia is Queen Lucia of Mendorra." Nicholas said.

"No." Lucia whispered.

"Now, the one thing we don't want to happen is a continuous barrage of rumors that will cloud the case nor do we want to have people try to press too hard to try to get too much into the investigation. Police are the ones that are capable of handling it.  Let them handle the technical investigation.  We have to be able to follow the process and procedures that the law requires.  Even though there's an urgency to try to solve these cases, one has to be very very patient -- those in our community have to be very patient -- to allow that process to evolve.  Otherwise, we'll jeopardize the potential to use whatever evidence is being found." Nicholas said as he looked down at his note cards.

"I'm going to ask everybody to please be patient, let the police do their investigation and let them -- and everybody in this community continue to help as much as possible, but let the police do their investigation without all the rumors that are floating.  It just complicates issues much, more more. It makes it much more difficult. And for the men who kidnapped my Queen, I want you all to know that our family will not rest until the you all captured or Lucia until has been brought home. Thank you." Nicholas said as one of the men turned off the television.

"This bad." He said.

"We kidnapped a Queen! They'll definitely kill us." Another one said.

"No, we have to ask for the money then we'll return her." The bigger one said.
