EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Britain's 'most eligible bachelor' the Duke of Westminster, 27, who inherited £10bn is secretly engaged to Princess Ariana of Wales

Here's some news to have female hearts breaking across the nation: Britain's most eligible young bachelor is said to be off on the singles' market.

I hear that the Duke of Westminster, 27, who inherited a £10 billion fortune when his father died two years ago, is engaged to Princess Ariana of Wales, 31.

'They are very much a couple,' claims one of their friends. 'They've been together for two years and have so much in common.'

Hugh, who studied countryside management at Newcastle University, has taken Ariana on a luxury holiday to California and reports last year said the couple are 'blissfully happy' and also where he proposed to the Princess.

He became Britain's youngest billionaire on the death of his father, Gerald.

As well as inheriting the title, he gained control of a property empire with 300 acres in Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as land in Cheshire, Oxford, Scotland and Spain.

A friend of the royals, Hugh was asked by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2013 to be Prince George's godfather.

He was, though, brought up to be without airs and graces and began his education at a state primary near the family home of Eaton Hall, Cheshire.

A spokesman for the estate declines to discuss Hugh's love life, telling me: 'It has long been our policy not to comment on personal matters.'

"I should probably go and talk to your father about our engagement and ask for your hand in marriage." Hugh said.

"We're definitely not doing this in the correct order, Hugh." I said.

"Nothing about us is normal and traditional which I love us so much." Hugh said.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Ariana and Hugh Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster.

The wedding will take place in Summer 2019. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

Her Royal Highness and His Grace became engaged in California earlier last year. Princess Ariana has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Hugh Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster has also sought and received the blessing of The Prince of Wales.

🔝Chapter Six | Engagement Interview🔝

BBC: Your Royal Highness, Your Grace, congratulations to you both.

Princess Ariana: Thank you.

BBC: Can we start with the proposal and the actual moment of your engagement? When did it happen? How did it happen?

Duke of Westminster: It happened a few months ago, in California while we were on vacation.

Princess Ariana: We went on a walk in the backyard of the home we were staying at. It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee and I instantly said yes.

Duke of Westminster: She did not let me even ask. I had to remind her that I did not ask the question yet and she said, of course continue. But I was happy she was willing to want to spend the rest of our lives together.

BBC: And this is how long after you first met?

Duke of Westminster: Oh it would be two years and a half, a little bit more than that?

Princess Ariana: No, just about. It would be about two years and a half, yeah.

BBC: How did you first meet?

Princess Ariana: Ah yes, we first met — well as you know Hugh is Prince George's godfather and naturally everyone thinks the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge set us up but no that is not the case. We met in Paris at a wedding.

Duke of Westminster: Paris, yes, the city of love. We were attached to each other the whole tonight and soon we were traveling to see each other and going on dates.

"He cannot be seriously convincing Granny and pa to send you two to South Africa." I said.

"He feels that we are more popular than Catherine and him, the focus should be on them not us. He even thinks you should be stripped of your full time status since you haven't done any engagements." Harry said.

"I cannot believe I'm at war with my big brother and I've been in the country for a few days. I did not do anything to him and yet here he is leaking stories to the press and trying to get rid of me." I said.

"That's why I wanted you to come back. We need to show him that this cannot happen." Harry said.

"The monarchy survived Edward VIII's abdication, the survival of the monarchy was in question after the death of our mum, if these people try and bring Meghan, you and I down the potential effects of that could be the final blow to the House of Windsor. The cracks are showing. We will play it smart then. I'll announce I plan to marry in June, maybe a couple of days before his birthday. If he thinks I'll be queen then I shall think as if I am. You two just focus on the baby and I'll handle everything until you both get back to work." I said.

"Ariana, be careful." Harry said.

"What could they really do to me?" I asked.

"It's done, now we just wait for the big day and hopefully nothing goes wrong because this is the biggest last minute wedding ever." I answered.

"Why did you pick June 19, anyways?" Meghan asked.

"My parents got married on a Wednesday, June is my favorite month, wanted to steal the moment from William, who birthday is on the 21st and because everyone got married and all the other months that I thought of." I answered.

"Mhm, those are some interesting reasons." Meghan said.

"Because she's here to do, Harry's dirty work. You know Ariana has no problem being the evil one." William said.
