Everlasting | Chapter Three

I crave space. It charges my batteries. It helps me breathe. Being around people can be so exhausting, because most of them love to take and barely know how to give - except for a rare few.

Chapter Three | Charles' 70th Gala

"I'm glad you two were able to come and see me on such short notice." Queen Elizabeth said.

"What are we doing here? Colin asked as we sat yet again in my grandmother, Queen Elizabeth's office. She wanted to talk to us about something.

"As you both know tonight is Charles' 70th birthday gala and I want you both attend together. Which means you both will arrive and leave together. Sit together, dance, introduce each other to others as a couple and please make sure you two are color coordinated." Granny answered.

"But I wasn't planning on attending." Colin said.

"Well, you are now." Granny said.

"Granny, is there anything else you want to talk to us about?" I asked.

"Oh, yes. Good job, yesterday you two did amazing." She replied.

"Okay, well I need to go." I said.

"Oh, mhm, Georgiana, I sent you some jewels to wear for the gala tonight. They're in Colin's room." Granny said.

"Thank you, Granny." I said, smiling.

"You're welcome, now you two may leave." She said.

We got up and walked out of my grandmother's office. We walked down the hallway and up the stairs towards Colin's guest quarter.

"What are you wearing tonight?" Colin asked as we turn into another hallway.

"A black dress." I answered.

"It's a black tie event, right." Colin said.

"Yes, it is." I said.

"Good, are you getting ready here or are you going home?" Colin asked.

"I'm getting ready here, my personal assistant should be bringing my gown and accessories here, later today." I replied.

"Okay, well I have calls to make. You can do whatever you want." Colin said.

-

"Colin, hurry up, my family is starting to arrive." I said as I stood by the door, waiting for him to hurry up.

"You can't rush perfection." He said coming out of his room.

"Mhm okay." I said.

"Let's go." He said opening the door for me. I walked out into the hallway and he closed the door behind him and we started walking down the stairs.

Once we reached the main floor, we walked to where the Queen and the rest of the family were. I was nervous about Colin being around my family, who probably have a list of questions to ask us.

"There they are." Queen Elizabeth said, causing everyone to look at us.

"Now, we can pose for the family photo." Prince Charles said.

We walked up to the family and my father, Prince Andrew pulled me into a hug. "Hello, Gigi." He said.

"Hello, daddy." I said, smiling.

"Introduce me, to your boyfriend." He said.

"Oh right, daddy, this is King Colin." I said, as Colin grabbed my hand and shook my father's hand with the other hand.

"Hello, sir, you have raised a beautiful young lady." Colin said.

"Thank you, Your Majesty." My father said.

"Please, call me, Colin, we are family now." He said.

'He's a Duchy Original!': Queen pays warm tribute to Charles as Georgiana, Kate and Meghan in VERY sparkling jewels join royals from around the world at Buckingham Palace for 70th party

Earlier today Charles was seen holding 70th birthday balloon ahead of meeting guests nominated by Age UK

The Queen tonight paid a warm tribute to her son as she toasted Prince Charles's 70th birthday. Speaking at a private family party at Buckingham Palace, the monarch spoke of what a 'privilege' it was for her, as a mother, to honour him on such a momentous occasion.

It is understood that Charles was 'deeply touched' by his mother's words which, in a family not known for its public pronouncements of love and affection, was almost unprecedented.

She described Charles as a 'dedicated and respected heir to the throne to stand comparison with any in history — and a wonderful father'.

Significantly, she also gave his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, the highest seal of approval, referring to Camilla by name as the woman who 'sustains' him.

And in a humorous aside she referred to her eldest son as a 'duchy original' – a reference to the organic food line he set up in 1990.

Raising a glass at the black tie dinner, the Queen said: 'It is a privilege for any mother to be able to propose a toast to her son on his 70th birthday.

'It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up. It is rather like —to use an analogy I am certain will find favour — planting a tree and being able to watch it grow.

'My mother saw me turn 70, of course. And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out.

'Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader — a dedicated and respected heir to the throne to stand comparison with any in history — and a wonderful father.

'Most of all, sustained by his wife Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative. So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son, in every respect a duchy original. To you Charles. To the Prince of Wales.'

Royals were pictured leaving Kensington Palace this evening as they drove through central London to head to Buckingham Palace for the 70th birthday celebration of Prince Charles.

His daughters-in-law, Kate and Meghan, travelled alongside their husbands, Princes Harry and William, as they sported huge jewels for the party.

The Duke of Sussex was spotted driving his pregnant wife to the birthday celebration after Prince Charles celebrated his big day today by meeting 70 inspirational people also marking their 70th this year.

The Prince of Wales was praised as a 'prophet' by the Archbishop of Canterbury as he paid tribute to him on his birthday.

King Colin of Edgemere and Princess Georgiana of York, were spotted arriving at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday evening for the Prince of Wales' bash. A glowing Princess Georgiana, donning an Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012 gown.

The black strapless gown with a peaked detail on the bodice and a draped, tiered detail on the hip. A silver Chopard necklace and a black box clutch completed her look can be seen in photos arriving alongside her boyfriend, the King of Edgemere.
