Chapter 2- The School Ball
(Aaron's POV)
I straightened my bow tie. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a tuxedo, a bow tie, and surprisingly, I took off my headphones.
"Wouldn't need this, now." I thought. Anyway, why listen to The Fox, all the time, when you already have music? Plus, my iPhone is like, WAY out of battery and Lance is hogging the charger.
I walked and bumped into Macy. She was wearing a plain t- shirt and pants plus Nikeys.
She frowned. "What's with the fancy stuff?"
I giggled nervously like a five-year-old and started to sweat in my hot "uniform."
"Um, my regular clothes are in the- dryer?" Great job, Aaron. Nice way to meet your crush. Macy went down the stairs and headed outside. I sighed. No way she was going to love me! She might as well choose Clay, the goody two-shoes knight. So the effort of the tuxedo may wear off.
(During the Ball)
Clay, Lance, and Macy wore plain clothes and were milling around nothing to do, might stop at the snacks bar a couple of times. Axl had heart- eyes on Olivia, and they were dancing. Ugh. This "Hey, I wanna dance with you, but I'm too shy," act was really going well.
"Hey, Fox."
My buddy, Max, tapped me on the shoulder. "Dude, wanna play basketball?"
I shook my head no and walked away.
Max caught up. "Why the long face?"
I told him I wanted to dance with Macy and all that, blah blah blah.
He nodded. "Give it a try." And then he left.
"Fan-TASTIC help." I muttered through my breath. I went over to Macy.
"Umm...hey, want..to..uhhh, derk?" I asked her. She gave a face of confusion.
"I mean, do you wanna dance," I threw my nervousness out of me.
She shrugged, "Sure."
I pulled her to the dance floor, and we danced to the music:
Slow, Fast, Jumpy.
Finally, we ran out of breath and took a seat at a bench.
"Macy, I want to..umm..say something," I confessed.
"What?" She asked.
"I..I..I've always loved you."
With surprise, she kissed me. ON THE CHEEK!
"I love you too, Aaron." Macy replied
(Time skip to after the Ball)
"Nice job, dude." Max leaned forward to me.
"Ah, thank you," I said back.
"For what?"
Smirking, "For your advice. Real cool."
Max didn't seem shocked. He pointed to his face.
"Well, I am certainly cool beans."
