Chapter 3: Escape

Caleb's POV:

Today was the day that I have been planning for the past two weeks. Today was the day that I escaped the palace and went into the city without escorts, parades, or bodyguards. I would be able to go out and not be known as the crown prince next in line to the throne, but instead, be known as a simple person that doesn't have any fancy title or have everyone bow down to me and do my every whim. Nope! Today I would be just an ordinary person on the streets. And thanks to Mark, Unella and Hunter will be able to come with me.

Speaking of those two where are they? They should have been here already. I told them to meet me in mom's garden right after breakfast, and it is now about an hour after everyone had left the table! Just as I was about to go and see where they were so that we could go and I could tell them the plan I saw them come around the corner.

"Where have you two been? It has been an hour! Any longer and I probably would of left without you!"

"NO!" they said in sync.

"Well then are you ready to listen or not?" They both nodded eagerly in response.

"Okay, so here is the plan. First we will all leave at different times I'll leave first then 15 minutes later Hunter you will leave, and then 15 minutes after that It will be your turn Nell. Then we will all meet at the back hedges towards the middle, I found a little slot where we can get through but only at certain times because of the guards rounds. We good so far?"

"Yah yah we get it, finish up so that we can leave already!"

"Yah I agree, Chop chop!"

"Okay after we leave we can go anywhere within the city, but you have to make sure to not call attention to ourselves! For you Hunter that means No flirting with every girl in sight then bragging, and Nell that means for you-"

Nell cut me off "Yah I know that means no showing off" she said mockingly.

"Yes and if you get into trouble we will call eatch other NOT the Palace! Kapich?"

"Yep"

"Rightieo! So when do you leave?"

"In 15 minutes"

"Ack! That only gives me 40 minutes to change!"

""Why do you need to change? You just changed after breakfast, and that was only an hour ago!"

"Well I am dressed like I live in a palace and in nice crisp colors, so if I don't change I will be bringing attention to us. Duh!" You see my sister while ever the fashionista is very smart and pays attention to detail. So to anyone else her statement might of seamed that she was a stuck up spoiled little princess and a stereotypical girl who changes ten times a day, and while she sometimes does that, she actually is very practical and knows what she is doing and is totally not snooty.

"Yah but why will it take you so long?"

Exasperated she answered "Because! Have you seen my closet?!" Buuuut she still does have her girl moments.

"Ok! So does everybody know the plan? Oh and also before I forget! Mark is going to be covering for us so you better be nice, and try to avoid mom and dad, okay?"

"Yuppy Doodles!"

"Alright and makesure to be back at the spot outside of the gate by 6 or else we will miss dinner and the rents will be suspicious... well actually mom wil be suspicious, dad... well I don't know about him, let's just try not to get him mad."

"Alright Got it"

"Yuh Huh! Eye yie Captain" Hunter does with a fake salute and all, including a smirk.

"See ya in 15 and 30!"

********************************** (45 min later) after they left the palace

I was wandering around the streets enjoying my freedom roaming the streets alone because my sibs ditched me when I see a bakery that I have always wanted to go to and I had heard a lot of good things about. It was called "Gift Bakery". It was close to the center of the city where there was a large park. As I was about to step into the shop there was this loud applause coming from the park where there was a large gathering of people. My curiosity won over my taste buds and I went over to see what all the fuss was about.

When I got to the front of the crowd what I saw entranced me. There were these dancers who gracefully and beautifully danced to the lively music that was being played by the musicians of the group. At the front of the group was a girl who seemed so enthralled in her dancing, and she seemed to soak up the attention of the crowd. These weren't the only thing that drew me to her, her not only was her dancing beautiful, but she was also one of the most beautiful woman that I had ever seen. This coming from a prince who had seen princesses from around the world. I sat and watched as her body twisted and turned along with the beat light on her feet with absolute grace, balance, and skill. Once the dance ended my trance was broken by the loud applause that I joined in on, and added to the pile of money. The dancers bowed collected the money and went towards the booths that were set up behind them; I hadn't even noticed them until now.

I wandered around the booths looking at the items that they were selling, when I ran into someone. And I heard an "Umph"

"I am so sorry! Are you okay?" I say to the person that I bumped into before I even looked at them.

"I'm fine, but next time you should look at where you are going instead of dancing in la la land in your head" Came the reply from the girl who I had just bumped into. When she looked up I recognized her as the woman dancing. She had deep emerald green eyes with dark chocolate brown hair that had some strands of lighter brown in it. It was long and wavy, leading me to look towards her slender neck with a body to match.

I was brought out of my thought to be unnoticeable checking out of the woman when I heard her talk to me "Hey! Are you done checking me out now?" She had her hands on her hips, one hip popped with an amused smile on her face. Her voice was smooth and enticing, like music to my ears, with some amusement in it.

"Wa-what no I wasn't checking you out" I insist.

"Okay, whatever you say big buy. Anyways since you made me drop my food you get to buy me some more" She says pointing to the sandwich that she was picking up now from the ground and putting into a nearby rubbish bin.

"Fine, but since I'm buying I get to choose where, and I should know who I am buying food for instead of just a complete stranger" I say trying to know more about her.

"Ok, where do you want to go, and by the way my name is Eldira, Eldira Moon".

"Well Miss. Eldira Moon would you like to accompany me to the Gift Bakery?" I say with a bow, smiling as I look up.

"Why Yes I thing that would be lovely!" she says playing into the part "Thank you ..."

Thinking on my feet because I don't want to blow my cover I give her my first and middle name "Caleb Rodrick"

"Thank you Caleb"

Going into the shop we both get a turkey sandwich with lettuce, cucumbers, salt and pepper, vinegar, and tomatoes all on sour dough bread. After getting our food we sat down and talked for what seemed to be a short time, since she was off from dancing for the rest of the day, but what turned into being hours. When the alarm that I had set on my phone I realized how much time had gone by.

"Oh my, it has been hours I need to be getting back, and you should too."

"Ack! You are right, my brothers will probably be going nuts!"

As she was turning to leave I stopped her "Hey, mind if I get your number so that we might be able to do this again?"

"Sure" We exchanged numbers and I raced off to the hedges, because it was almost 6!

"I'm here, I'm here!" I exclaimed to my twins, panting due to the fact that I had sprinted there.

"Just in time! Weren't you the one who told us to be here on time and then you are the one who almost misses the deadline." Hunter says.

"Yah, why were you almost late anyways?"

"I'll tell you after dinner, cause as of right now we are going to get there just in time to change and get down to the dining room!"

"Fine! But as soon as we are dismissed from dinner I want you to spill!" demands my sister.

"Fine. Now let's GO!"
