Part 9 ASR
Khushi followed Arnav but stayed a little aloof to know why the girl was there for. Arnav stood and observed the girl. A guard was blocking her way from entering in and chiding her to leave the place. But she didn't seem to be listening to him. She looked stubborn to enter in.
The guard stood straight when he heard Arnav's voice.
"What's the matter, Ram?" Arnav asked.
The guard named Ram looked at Arnav and said,
"Nothing... Nothing" he stood straight.
"Let her come in," Arnav said.
"It's not necessary..." He said blocking the girl's way,
Arnav looked at him raising his brows that made Ram bow down.
"Who are you, sister?" Arnav asked the girl with respect. That impressed Khushi.
"I'm Sushmita. His girlfriend," she said pointing at Ram.
"Girlfriend?" Arnav asked Ram with shock.
"It's an old story..." Ram said.
Cutting him,
"Old story? Were you guys in a relationship?" Arnav asked.
Ram was silent.
"Sushmita, tell me the matter," Arnav asked.
"We were in a relationship for more than three years. Six months ago, he got disappeared from my life. He refused to even attend my call. I can't find him no matter how hard I tried. Even his family don't know about his whereabouts" the girl said.
"Don't your family know what you are doing? Are not you sending them money?" Arnav asked Ram.
"They knew... I'm sending them money every month without fail" Ram said.
"Then why does she say they don't know about your whereabouts?" Arnav questioned him.
"I asked them to keep it secret. That's why they would not have told her about my whereabouts" Ram said.
"Do they know about your relationship with Sushmita?" Arnav asked.
"No... They don't know about our relationship..."
"Why have not you told them about it yet?"
Ram stood silent.
"I ask you something, Ram..."
"How can I tell them?"
"Why? What's the problem in telling them?"
"They will ask me to get married"
"Instead of feeling happy about it, why are you avoiding it? Don't you love her truly? Is it for timepass?" Arnav asked him furiously.
"No... Certainly not... I LOVED her sincerely "
"LOVED? What does that mean? Don't you love her now?"
"I don't want to marry not only Sushmita but no one," Ram said in a feeble tone.
Sushmita became angry hydrating that. She came forward and clutched his collar.
"What do you mean you don't want to marry me? How could you say so? This is what I get for loving you sincerely for more than three years? This is what I get for trusting you. Is it wrong to be waiting for you? What about the promises? Will you let them go in the air? What kind of man you are?" She exclaimed.
Khushi felt bad for the girl. What kind of man he was? Won't any man on the earth be loyal? She could not hold herself from thinking about her sister Payal. Was this how her sister would also have been cheated by ASR? She thought.
Arnav folded his hands and watched the emotional drama. Ram looked at Arnav hesitatingly.
"What's all this Ram? You know our rules and regulations very well. I don't like cheaters. Loyalty is everything to me. If you are not capable of keeping your word to your girlfriend, how could you be a deserving person to serve society?"
Khushi frowned. SERVE FOR SOCIETY? What service were they doing for society? Though she could not understand she liked the approach of Nannav.
"That's why I don't want to get married. I agree I loved her before I joined you. But now, how can I marry anyone when our life is in danger? Don't we know anything can happen to us at anytime...? Then how could I spoil a girl's life? I don't want to marry her not because I don't love her. It's because I want her to be happy" Ram said.
Khushi was amazed. What were these people?
"Why didn't you tell me about your problem?" Arnav asked with dissatisfaction.
"There are many problems to be solved. I don't think mine is a big one..." Ram said.
"Doesn't not my sorrow matter to you? Won't you care if I feel heartbreak? It's not our problem important one?" Sushmita asked painfully.
"Sister, listen to me. You didn't understand him. He wants you to be happy in your life"
"He is my happiness, Bhai. Without him, there is no happiness in my life. I won't be alive if he doesn't marry me."
"No... Don't talk like that sister. A good woman like you should not think about leaving your life."
"Ram, because of you, a girl is supposed to die. Is this what your life is?"
"My life is not a big deal..."
Cutting him,
"It is... Absolutely, it is... If this is your problem, I can solve it. And... It's my responsibility to save people who stand for me... Their happiness is very important to me than anything. You don't have to serve society, losing your happiness because the motto of our struggles is all about the happiness of the people. We are working for that only. I can't allow my people to lose their happiness to give society happiness"
"But..."
"Go somewhere with Sushmita where no one knows you. I will do all the arrangements for your livelihood. Marry her and live happily with her."
Cutting him,
"I'm happy doing this job. I'm getting satisfied here... I don't want to go anywhere... I won't..." Ram said stubbornly.
Arnav rolled his eyes.
Khushi gritted her teeth. What the hell job they were doing that he didn't want to marry his girlfriend? Was that job greater than the deep love?
"I know you will make such a decision. That's why I didn't say anything. Please don't ask me to leave this place. The satisfaction that we are getting here is something we can't get anywhere. Let me be with you. Please..." Ram pleaded.
Khushi frowned. These guys must not be doing any good job for sure. That was why he was a bit ready to leave the place. Didn't she know men? her concentration went back to Arnav.
"Ok... From here on, I'm transferring you to the RC. You can continue your service from RC. Ok?"
Before Ram said anything,
"Thank you so much Bhai sab. I don't know what job you are doing. But I'm sure you must be a great man. That's why he is ready to sacrifice everything. Thank you for making him understand me and making him marry me" Sushmita said joining her hands.
"Go and talk to your family. Arrange your wedding" Arnav said.
The next stance uttered by Ram shocked Khushi to the core.
"I'm so glad that I'm continuing with you. Thank you so much, ASR..."
Khushi's eyes popped out like popcorn. Her eyes got rooted on Arnav's face.
ASR? Was he ASR? Was he the one whom she searching for? Was he the one who her sister loved? Was he the reason for her sister's disappearance? She wanted to rush to him and slap him hard left and right. She took a step and stopped as her phone rang. She saw Hrithik calling. She remembered what he said. She fisted her fingers. Didn't he ask her not to react even though she got to know who they were? Letting her frustration on him would help her to find her sister? Certainly not. It would not be easy to get the truth about Payal from these guys. She should act wise and find out about Payal. They should not suspect her. Didn't know why they let her roam around the vicinity freely. Whatever it was, it would be helpful for her to find the truth. She should achieve it going on their flow. She should make them believe that she was completely surrendered to them.
Khushi took back steps, observing Arnav. Damn... this man... anyone would fall for his charms. Why not Payal? There was nothing to wonder if she had fallen for him head over heels. Any girl would do that if he proposed to her. But why did he hide Payal? Where did he hide her? Why? Would he be an organ-stealing gang leader? What was that he mentioned about RC? What was RC? Was that a code word? It seemed there were many things to be found out.
But, the way he consoled Ram seemed so nice... Was he a good man or bad? If he was a good man, what about Payal? However, he should have known about Payal. Khushi didn't want to conclude that he was a good guy. In Ram and Sushmita's matter, he acted so genuinely. It didn't mean he was genuine. Who knew why he patched them up? What if there was a reason behind that? He might do that to shut Sushmita's mouth down.
Whatever, ASR did wrong by bringing Khushi Gupta to their place. she was going to be a headache to him. He had to answer her about Payal. She will get it by hook or by crook. Khushi thought.
Part 10 Entrance in the wall
Khushi thought something. She should share the live location of the place with Hrithik. Then, he would surely bring the police to this place. This ASR's game would get end for sure. She rushed back to her room. she opened WhatsApp and tried to send her live location to Hrithik. But there was no signal on her phone. She was confused. She saw a full signal on her phone a few minutes ago when she captured the photos of the guards. Then what happened all of a sudden? She searched for the signal extending her hand with her phone. When she turned towards the entrance of the room, she saw Arnav leaning on the door folding his hands with a smirk on his face.
Khushi stood in attention pose, hiding her mobile behind her back.
"What happened? There is no signal on your mobile?" He advanced her. the smirk still crawled on his lips.
Khushi stood catching her breath. She started moving backward as he came close to her. She stood, hitting her back on the wall. Arnav leaned toward her. Khushi closed her eyes tight, turning her face to her left side. She opened her eyes, hearing,
"What's your designation?"
She looked at him with confusion who was looking at her smilingly. Designation? Why did he ask about it now? Was he going to offer her a job?
"Don't you know what is meant by designation?"
"BA criminology," she said with attitude.
"Is pickpocketing also a subject in criminology?" He asked teasingly.
That's when she understood he was taunting her. Did he know she pickpocketed her mobile from his pocket? She stood looking somewhere with embarrassment. She didn't understand one thing. He knew she took her phone from his pocket. Yet, he didn't react to it. He looked cool. But why?
"No one dared to touch my pocket ever... You have very good pic pocketing skills" he chuckled.
Khushi gulped down hard.
"I like it"
She looked at him jerking.
"It seems you love your phone very much. Keep it... play games on it... you can play only games in it because you will never get a signal in that. This area is under the control of Jammer now..."
Khushi's eyes widened in shock. JAMMER? Arnav nodded yes with a smirk.
"That's why you let me pick it from your pocket?"
"Yup... Usually, I don't like to disappoint anyone. That's why I let you do what you want..."
"Don't talk like a saint" she said gritting her teeth.
"Saint and me? When did I say I'm a saint?"
"What do you think? I won't trust your acting. You can make people believe you but me"
"What made you think that I'm trying to make you trust me?" He folded his hands.
"Don't underestimate me..." she said not answering him.
"Nope... I had seen your pickpocketing skill. Then how could I underestimate you? You are so talented than anyone I met so far"
Khushi didn't know whether he prized her or taunted her.
Taking his hand, she stuffed her mobile in his palm.
"Keep it..."
"Good girl" he tapped her nose.
"Don't you dare touch me" she said angrily, shrugging his hand off.
Though that surely touched his ego he liked it. What right did he have to touch a girl? He never intended to touch any girl but Khushi. He didn't know why.
"By the way, who are you?" Arnav asked.
"Why should I tell you about me? Can't the great ASR find out who I'm?"
Didn't she call him NANNAV a few minutes ago? But now, she called him ASR and Arnav noticed it.
"It seems you find out who I'm ...?" Arnav smiled.
"Yeah... I saw your judgment... That's when I got to know who you are" she said sarcastically.
"You are not just a criminology student but a criminal" Arnav smiled.
"See, who is telling that... A criminal himself is addressing me as a criminal. Very funny"
"It seems you know about me well"
"The whole world knows how criminal you are"
"Not everything told by people can be true. People is talking only about what I want them to talk about. Within a week, I can completely change people's perspectives about me... So, don't trust anything blindly. Use your brain" he touched the corner of her forehead with his index finger.
Khushi flinched back a little.
That was when Arnav got a call. He became serious, seeing the number. He attended it right away.
"Yes, doctor..."
"....."
"Oh..."
"...."
"Ok doctor. I will arrange it"
He started walking out while dialing someone.
"Yes, Nannav?"
It was NK.
"NK, our Doctor called me. He needs AB-negative group blood for a heart operation. Send our men to government hospital who has AB negative blood. Quick"
"Ok Nannav"
Arnav disconnected the call and walked to his room. Khushi was standing in confusion, hearing his phone conversation with NK. Arranging blood for a heart operation? Why did the doctor call a criminal for blood? Who was he? Was he running a charity? She saw a few men getting into a jeep and leaving the vicinity hurriedly. NK was the one who sent them. She observed NK, hiding behind one of the big pillars of the long corridor. He was going somewhere. She slowly followed him. NK entered a room. Khushi stood outside the room and tried to overhear what he talked.
"Nannav, four of our men went to the government hospital"
"Good"
Nannav? That meant NK was talking to ASR. Was that ASR's room? She slowly pepped in. The room looked very very simple wondered her because she thought the gangster's room would be lavish like she saw in the movies. There was a bed, a TV, and a shelf full of books. What kind of gangster he was? He was sending his men to donate blood for an operation... sorting a love matter and making the couple ready for the marriage... Top of all, living a simple life... she could not understand anything.
She walked to her room and sat on the bed. Switching on the TV, she watched the news. The news was running on TV. Assistant Commissioner Aman Mathur was answering the media people about the missing persons in Mumbai.
"When will you find the kidnapper, sir?"
"We are investigating"
"For how many days will you give the same answer, sir?"
"As of now, we can say nothing as we don't know the prediction. We are giving our best to find the culprit."
"What about the gang murder, sir? There is a gossip roaming around not only Mumbai but also all over India that ASR is behind the gang murder"
Khushi sat straight, hearing ASR's name.
"Who is ASR? Why are you guys always putting him in the front line?" he asked with anger as well as disappointment.
"Because Arnav Singh Raizada is always in the front line, sir"
"Just because we could not find the culprit, how could you make a gangster a hero?"
"Sir, are you jealous of ASR?" a reporter teased him.
"Don't be silly..." Aman walked away without giving heed to the reporters.
Khushi sighed. Instead of calling Varma, she should have called Aman Mathur, she supposed. But, she was not lucky enough to get his number. It seemed Aman Mathur hated ASR to the core. That meant, he was the right person to deal with ASR. If she got a chance to communicate with Aman Mathur, she was ready to become an eyewitness against ASR.
At the same time, Khushi's confusion raised more about ASR. The reporters not only taunted the Assistant commissioner for not finding the culprits but also acclaimed ASR indirectly. What was that man? Except for one issue, she was getting only good vibes from the man one by one. PAYAL... that was the only issue that confused her. Payal herself told that she was in a relationship with ASR. The same day she got vanished. Before that, she tried to say something about ASR when Khushi called her. Khushi didn't know what she wanted to say. She didn't know what to do. How to find Payal.
Khushi's attention got diverted as she heard an ambulance sound. She was sure that the ambulance was coming towards the building. The sound was nearing her. But, the siren sound stopped all of a sudden. That confused Khushi. Was there any hospital nearby? She went to the window and looked outside. Her brows went up, seeing an ambulance getting inside ASR's vicinity without making a sound. She saw the ambulance going towards the back side building. She could not believe her own eyes when the wall of the building opened and gave a way for the ambulance to enter. The next second, the way got vanished and it looked like a wall again. Khushi was stunned. It looked like magic. It seemed the building swallowed the ambulance. The mystery around the building and ASR was getting deeper. That made her mad. She was sure about something. The gangster called Arnav Singh Raizada was doing something illegal, beyond the imagination.
To be continued...
