36 Revenge?

Part 36 Revenge?

When Arnav came out of Rishi's house, following Khushi, they saw Rishi's son Ganesh looking at his mother who was getting inside the police jeep being furious.

"Hey, why are you guys taking my mother in the police jeep?" He shouted wrathfully.

"She is related to Shashi Gupta and his wife's murder case. That's why we arrested her" Roshan said.

"My mother would not have done that... it can't be true"

"She accepted it. Your father also knew it... Go and ask him"

Ganesh looked at Khushi. He became infuriated seeing her. He ran to her like a mad person. He tried to catch up her neck. Before he touched her, Arnav pushed him forcefully and Ganesh fell to the ground. Standing up from the ground, he again tried to reach Khushi but Arnav clutched his shoulders and made it impossible. Khushi looked at him perplexed.

"Why the hell are you behaving like a mad?" Arnav yelled.

"It's everything because of her family..."

Khushi who was already broken down stood motionlessly.

"What are you looking at? You guys are greedy... You guys want everything for yourselves... if you guys had given us a little amount of property; we would also have lived our life peacefully. So, what if my father is an illegitimate child? Does not he belong to your family? What was his mistake of being an illegitimate child? It's your grandfather who is the son of a b***. He needed another woman to get satisfied..."

Before he uttered one more word, he received a tight slap from his father. Ganesh looked at him shockingly.

"One more word... I will break your head against the wall. You have no right to talk about my father. It's purely my mother who is blameworthy here. She lived with him having no commitments. If she had demanded her rights, she would have earned them from my father. And, we should not blame this girl for something she is not answerable for. She doesn't even know the existence of our family"

Ganesh tried to say something,

"However, no one has the right to take one's life, for any reason. Your mother did that. So, she ought to get punished. Because of her, my brother and his wife died. Khushi is standing alone in this world having no one for herself. Because of your mother, she lost her parents, her sister is in a coma stage. How are we going to repay it? Could we? We could never... Stop blaming her and her family"

Rishi came to Arnav.

"Please, take her from here. Sorry for his behavior. Please... Go"

Arnav looked at Khushi who wiped her tears and got inside the car. Arnav started the engine and left the place.

There was complete silence in the car. Khushi was continuously wiping her cheek whereas Arnav was continuously stealing her glance. He had much more to talk to her but she was not in the state to pay attention to him. He knew that. So he didn't disturb her.

They reached Gupta house.

Khushi went to her room. Arnav stood looking at her helplessly. He didn't know how to console her. He didn't even know what was she undergoing.

Khushi stopped before entering the room. She looked at Arnav turning behind.

"I would like to meet our lawyer", she said.

Arnav nodded yes.

"Now..." She added.

Arnav again nodded yes. Khushi walked back to the car. Arnav started the car and headed to the lawyer's residence.

Khushi was silent. It seemed she cooled down herself.

"Are you alright?" Arnav asked.

Khushi looked at him and said nothing. Arnav could not conclude the look. He told that openly.

"I'm not an expert in understanding the meaning of a sorrowful girl's look", Arnav said.

Khushi looked outside through the window.

"Ok, I understood... You are not alright"

Khushi stayed silent.

"Can I do something to make you alright?"

Khushi closed her eyes, parting her lips.

"Ok... I won't disturb you"

She looked at him painfully.

"I really can't understand the meaning of your look", Arnav said.

Khushi again went silent.

"By the way, why do you want to meet your lawyer?"

"I want to get cleared something from him" finally, Khushi talked, breaking her silence.

"We are going to his place announced. what if he is busy?"

"I will wait..."

"Mmm," Arnav understood that Khushi would like to finish something right away.

They reached the lawyer's place. As Arnav assumed, the lawyer was busy. He was dealing with another client. Arnav conveyed to the lawyer about their arrival through his junior. He asked them to wait for a few minutes.

Khushi sat on the steel chair, that was being kept in the reception of the lawyer's office. Arnav had never witnessed Khushi in such a state. She was always full of energy. No matter how stressed she had been. Arnav felt bad for her. Heading her, he seated next to her.

"Khushi, I can understand your feelings. You lost your parents in an accident but it was not an accident. You thought Payal was attacked by my rivals but they are not my rivals but your father's. It all seems new to you but, this is how the world runs. Nothing is valuable here except for money. Money can make anything possible. Don't lose hope. There is always a way for every problem"

Khushi was looking at him without blinking.

"Don't look at me like this. I'm controlling myself not to flirt with you. You are making it difficult for me with your hazels" he spoke out reading her eyes.

Khushi averted her gaze from him immediately.

At the same time, a junior lawyer called them in.

"Do you want me to come? Or, shall I wait here"

"Come with me"

She walked after making sure of him following.

The lawyer greeted them with a warm smile.

"How are you, Khushi?"

"I'm fine uncle... He is Arnav... My friend"

"Hello... I'm Ashok Metha"

He shook hands with Arnav.

"Tell me, Khushi, what can I do for you?"

"I would like to give an equal share of our property to my Babuji's brother"

Ashok looked at her shrinking his eyes. Arnav blinked his eyes, understanding her mind.

"I would like to do it as much as possible, uncle"

"But, this is your family property. You can't make decisions solely. Payal's acceptance is a must."

"Jeeji will be fine with it"

"Only her signature can confirm it. That's law"

"Didn't my Babuji ever tell you about our shares of property?"

"Yes, he did. He clearly wrote it in a document before his death"

"Then, why didn't he do that with our family property?"

"We can't do that when the case is going on in the court. We were waiting for the judgment. But, as per the law, your Babuji divided his earnings onto your names"

"Do I have full rights on my share?"

"Of course, yes..."

"Shall I transfer them onto anyone's name?"

"Yes, you can..."

"Then, transfer them to Rishi Gupta's name"

"Are you sure?"

"Mmm"

"Think once Khushi"

"Why?"

"Because this is the biggest decision of your life... It's all about money. You may repent later"

"I believe in myself, uncle. I can take care of myself"

"How? What will you do for your survival?"

"I will find a job..."

"I will give you two days. If your decision is still the same, I will do what you say"

Khushi was supposed to reply,

"Please, Khushi... Try to understand. However, I'm not going to do it in haste."

"No uncle..."

Cutting her,

"Do you think, your mind will change in two days?"

Khushi gulped hard, closing her eyes.

"Then, what's the problem?"

"I will be the same... Get the papers ready..."

"I will get the papers ready, hearing a YES from you the day after tomorrow," Ashok said.

Khushi nodded ok and left the place.

"Thank you" Arnav followed her.

Arnav started the car towards Gupta's house again.

"Don't you want anything for yourself?" Arnav asked, concentrating on the road.

"I don't want something that was the reason for me losing my beloved once"

"I agree... But without that SOMETHING, we can't survive. You need money for your future. You will be confident if you have a healthy bank balance"

"I already have a healthy bank balance and, unfortunately, lost my confidence completely. Let them be happy with the money. At least, they will get happiness from that"

"Do you think they will be satisfied?"

"It's none of my business to think about their satisfaction. My duty will end at the point where I gave them money. After that, it's their responsibility to get happiness. Jeeji will also do the same if she comes out of the coma stage"

"Actually, you should be angry with Rishi's family "

"I'm angry with them like hell... That's why I'm accomplishing this. Let them know nothing can be changed with money. They will have money but peace of mind. One day, their deeds will question them. They can't answer them easily. That's karma..." She exclaimed.

Arnav was stunned. He never heard of such a way of revenge. This would take time but would happen. Their mother was in jail. That was enough to cause them to realize, money was not enough to be happy. Arnav supposed.

To be continued...
