Part 22 Research

Arnav's gaze was calm enough to make Khushi furious. She reached Arnav with the same fury.

"What's happening here? What are you guys doing here?" she asked Arnav.

Arnav looked at Ram who left the place silently.

"You should have understood it by now... Or, read it" Arnav pointed at the bold golden letters of RESEARCH CENTER.

"What all the research is about? What Ishan is doing with your research?"

"Didn't I say, we are working for society? This is one among them... This is a research center. We are contributing some valuable research to this society."

"That means, are you using these people for the experiments?"

Arnav folded his hands and nodded yes.

"This is not right... who gave you the right to do this? This is illegal"

"So? So, what if this is illegal? These guys are not the saviors of LAW. They are lawbreakers. They lived their lives selfishly... they never minded destroying others for their happiness... SILLY happiness" he stressed the word SILLY.

"But..."

Arnav stopped her showing his palm.

"No one gave me the right to do this. I don't need anyone's permission because these guys also never got anyone's permission to do anything. Then why should I get the permission?"

"This is not right... the punishment will be severe, if you get caught"

"I know how to save myself. You don't have to mind about it. Keep it secret if you can..."

"What kind of research is this? These guys seem in trouble..."

"Of course, they would be because this research is about cancer."

"Whaaaaat? Cancer?" she was shocked.

Arnav nodded yes.

"That means, you guys are intentionally making them cancer patients?"

"Without making them cancer patients, how could we do research on them?"

"Do you have any idea, what the hell are you doing?"

"What do you think? Do you have any idea how much money has been invested in this research? We knew very well what we are doing"

"But, it will give them killer pain"

"Throwing acid on a girl won't give her killer pain?"

"I agree what Ishan did is absolutely wrong. he tried to throw acid on a girl..."

"He is here not just because he threw acid on a girl... he was on our hit list even before the incident"

"But why?"

"Because he is a rapist. He raped many innocent girls and became the reason they committed suicide. You won't believe... he raped a six-year-old girl and burnt her alive" he said gritting his teeth.

Khushi gulped hard.

"What was her mistake? Taking birth as a girl is the only mistake she had done. Do you still think this kind of man should be left free in society? Will you say he won't touch any other girl here after? Could you question this beast for his action just like you are doing with me?" he shouted making her jerk.

"Just six years old child... just think... how terrible her condition would have been... what kind of pleasure this B**** would have gotten from the kid? Don't your spine shiver while thinking about it?"

Khushi's eyes tear up instantly.

"Will you feel sorry for him IF.... (he stopped for a while) he did the same with PAYAL?"

Khushi was shocked to the core. She widened her eyes and gulped down hard. Arnav clutched her upper arms.

"Tell me, Khushi... will you feel sorry for him?"

Khushi closed her eyes and tears rolled down her cheek.

"You can't... I know that because you love Payal. So, you can't tolerate anything bad happening to her. Our country has millions of Payals. I feel the same for everyone. All are my sisters and brothers and I give equal importance to them. I won't be sitting silently and letting these men do atrocities. In fact, I'm using them for a noble activity. I'm not killing them uselessly. They are giving their lives to this society. Because of them, humans are going to get cancer medicine that will save many innocent lives"

"Instead of using them for the experiments, you could just kill them..."

"Then how could we do the research?" he said with attitude.

"As usual... with rats and monkeys..."

"Why would we torture innocent animals for research that is not going to be useful to them?"

"I didn't get it"

"Cancer is a human disease. Do you ever heard of an elephant or lion dying due to cancer?"

Khushi frowned.

"Human and Animal DNA won't match. Every life's genetic factor differs from one another. All are different. Then, what's the point of using animals to find medicine for humans? It won't be successful. Human medicines should be tested on humans only. Then only the experiment gives an acute result. That's what we are doing. These guys won't deserve a place on the earth. They deserve brutal death. Before that, let them contribute to society"

"Why are you so furious?"

"Are not you? Don't you feel to kill the rapist when you watch rape news on TV? You guys just reacting... I can't stop just reacting. That's what difference between you and me"

"In this process, you don't understand that you are losing your life"

"LIFE? What do you mean by life? Our life should have a reason. We don't take birth just to die... We should do something before dying. I have already done what I can... I don't care if I die"

"People call you gangster... rowdy... "

Cutting her,

"Let them call me anything... I know what I'm doing. I don't have to give an explanation to anyone"

Khushi was silent.

"By the way, what are you doing here?" Arnav asked.

Khushi got stuck. Her mind worked fast to answer the man in front of her.

"I just came to see what place is this"

"You got to know what place is this. What are you going to do now?"

Khushi shook her head from left to right.

That was when NK rushed inside the RC. He got stuck, seeing Khushi there.

"You here?"

"She is so curious to know what we are doing" Arnav smirked.

NK shrank his eyes. Arnav raised his eyebrows contently. NK came close to him and whispered something in his ear. Arnav looked at Khushi, getting amazed. They smiled at each other making Khushi frown.

Taking his mobile out, Arnav dialed someone. The call got attended.

"Arnav Singh Raizada speaking"

".........."

"Be careful when you leave the RC. Check the AMBULANCE well before leaving the premises" Arnav said, looking at Khushi with a smirk on his face.

Khushi was horror-struck. Did he get to know her plan of escaping through the ambulance? But how? She bit her nail nervously. She looked at NK who was smiling at her. Arnav disconnected the call and kept the mobile in his pocket.

"So, you are planning to use the ambulance to win the challenge?" Arnav said.

"No... not at all... I didn't have a such idea in my mind until you said..." she said hurriedly.

Arnav folded his hands.

"Really?"

"Really... If you have doubt, ask Nanne" she said.

"Hello, why are you dragging me into this?" NK asked.

"Nanne is the one who guessed your master plan right..." Arnav smiled.

NK nodded yes.

"By the way, how did you guess it?" Arnav asked NK.

"You told me about the challenge and asked me to block all the sources that could lead Khushi out of this premises. I was thinking about it. That was when something clicked in my mind. I told her about how Akash went to meet Payal on her birthday. So, she should think of using the same way to leave our premises because she didn't have other sources to do that" NK said.

Khushi sighed.

"So, you came here to look for the possibility to escape..." Arnav asked.

Khushi looked somewhere.

"What do you think of our people's ability? Do you think they are dumb?"

"Haan haan your men are so smart... I tried to escape from here unknowingly. I'm sorry" she said joining her hands, making them chuckle.
