Part 2 In the search of...
Arnav was looking at the path on which the biker girl went.
"What a girl, Nannav..." NK said.
Arnav composed himself and the smile on his face got vanished.
"Girl like her is very rare... such a rare piece she is..."
Arnav looked at NK and gestured something through his eyes. NK nodded ok understanding his gesture.
"Mohan, let's go" Arnav ordered.
They left the place. Within half an hour, they reached Indira Gandhi women's hostel. NK looked at Arnav who nodded yes. NK got down from the car and went to the hostel warden.
"What can I do for you, Sir?" the warden asked NK who was looking dashing in a blazer.
"I want to meet Payal's roommate..."
The warden got stuck.
"Payal's roommate?"
NK nodded yes.
"May I know who you are?"
"I'm Nandkishore... Arnav Singh Raizada's cousin brother"
The warden stood up gulping.
"Sir, she had not had any roommate as she stayed in a single room. She hardly mingles with others. As she was an IT personality, her work timing changes often. We didn't see her after her birthday. Don't know where she went"
"Do you know about her sister, CHUTKI...?"
"Sorry, sir, we don't even know she has a sister"
NK frowned.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, sir... no one knows about her sister. The police also came for the investigation. We already had given them the needed details, sir. Payal was a reserved girl. So, we don't know about her sir"
NK was disappointed.
"Well... I hope you will forget about our inquiry..." he warned her.
"No, sir... I won't tell anyone about you. you can trust me"
"That's good for you"
He came back to the car.
"Did you get anything about Payal's sister?" Arnav asked.
"No Nannav... the warden said Payal Bhabi stayed in the single's room and never mingled with anyone," NK said.
Arnav sighed.
"We enquired about Payal in her workplace too, she didn't have friends in her office it seems"
"But how?"
"Actually... Nannav..." NK hesitated.
"Tell me clearly NK"
"Actually, Akash was the one who didn't want her to get close to anyone in her workplace and hostel. He thought it might bring problems for us"
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Don't worry Nannav... we will find Payal's sister..."
Cutting him,
"When? We are searching for her for a month but we haven't gotten any information about her yet" Arnav said wearily.
"It's because they are not belonging to Mumbai but Lucknow. Payal Bhabi came to Mumbai as she got a job here. At the same time, her sister went somewhere else to study..."
"What do you mean, somewhere else? Don't you know the exact place?"
"Akash didn't tell me in detail about Chutki"
"Didn't you ask him anything?"
"I did... but he didn't GIVE..."
"GIVE? What do you mean by GIVE? What did you ask him?"
"Her Phone number" NK scratched his head.
Arnav glared at NK gritting his teeth.
"Knowing your filthy mind only Akash would not have liked to share the details about her with you..." he chided.
NK wiped his flushed face with his palm.
"Do something and find her... I can't disappoint Akash"
"We will surely find her, Nannav"
Arnav sighed.
The next day
A girl got down from her bike, in front of the police station. She removed her helmet and kept it on her bike. We had already seen her before. She was the same girl who saved a girl from the acid guy the previous day.
"Oh, God, she came again to talk rules and regulations..." A constable murmured annoyingly.
She came inside the station. At the same time, the inspector who came there saw her.
"Sir... I'm Khushi Gupta..." she was about to start,
The inspector stopped her showing her palm.
"We know, Madam. Your sister is missing. We are searching for your sister. What can we do madam, no one knows about her in her workplace and also in the hostel. No one knows where she went on her birthday" the inspector said.
"Sir, why can't you understand what I say? She was in a relationship with ASR... he must have known about her. enquire him about my sister, sir..." Khushi said.
"Madam, how many times should we tell you, we can't do that? Not only we but no man in this Mumbai city will do that"
"Why sir? Is he a ghost or what?"
"No, madam... he is not a ghost but A...S...R..."
"Why are you building up too much about him?" Khushi asked irritatingly.
"The whole world knew about him, madam... he won't talk but only his gun. He won't mind killing people if anyone stands against him. Please don't waste our time and yours also. Do something useful... I'm telling this for your betterment only madam..."
"Being a policeman, how could you talk so irresponsibly?"
"Think whatever madam... we can do nothing..." the inspector said.
"Madam, don't believe his words. What he told about ASR is not true. They have not gotten any witness against him yet that he is a criminal. They are easily blaming him for all the crimes that are happening in Mumbai and getting rid of the responsibility" the accused who just got arrested in a pickpocket case said mockingly.
Khushi frowned at him and then at the inspector.
"Shut up you bloody pickpocket..." The inspector threw the lathi at him.
"Madam, they arrested me in the pickpocket case, if they didn't catch me, then they will say ASR is the pickpocket" he laughed.
Khushi shrank her eyes.
"Madam... ASR is a nice man. These guys are jealous of him. that's why they are creating a scene against him" the man continued.
"If you won't be silent, I will put you behind the bars, putting more cases on you" the inspector warned.
"Didn't I say madam...? this is how they escape from the responsibility by putting the cases on innocents" the accused said.
"Madam, you please go... do your work," the inspector said.
"This is my work sir... I'm a CRIMINOLOGY student. I will go to the commissioner"
"Please do it..." the inspector left the place casually.
Khushi gasped hard wrathfully. What kind of people they were?
That was when a gang of people entered the police station. They looked rich and arrogant.
"Who is the inspector here?" the man in the middle of them shouted.
"He is Ishan Joshi" Khushi heard someone in the station muttering.
The inspector rushed to the man.
"Please take your seat sir" he gestured to a constable and he brought a chair for the man called Ishan Joshi.
"My brother is missing from the last night... I want him to be at my house in an hour... I don't care what you will do" he ordered the inspector.
"Sure sir... we will bring him to your house no matter where he is," the inspector said politely.
Khushi gritted her teeth. What creature this inspector was...! he talked to her rudely and now pleased this man shamelessly...!
The man removed his brother's photo and extended it to the inspector. He saw the photo and Khushi's eyes coincidently fell on the photo. Her eyes widened, seeing the boy. He was none other than the same boy who tried to throw acid on a girl the previous day.
"He is my brother Nishan Joshi. He was at home till last night... we didn't find him in his room from today morning..." Ishan said.
"Ok, sir... we will find him as much as possible..."
The inspector called the writer.
"Write a complaint and get the signature from SIR"
The writer nodded ok and wrote the complaint. Ishan signed into it and left the place.
The inspector saw Khushi was still there.
"Madam, haven't you gone yet?"
"Sir... I want to tell you something"
"Madam... we are busy... we have no time to listen to you..."
He was supposed to go,
"Sir, I saw this guy yesterday"
The inspector stopped at the same place and looked at her.
"Oh... so what? They also saw him yesterday... he is missing from today morning only..."
"But, he tried to throw acid on a girl..."
"Whaaat?" he frowned.
"Yes, sir... but I saved her from him..."
The inspector became thoughtful.
"One minute..." the inspector went in.
"Madam, don't get interfere in to this matter... they are dangerous people... listen to me... this Ishan is not a good man. Go from here" the accused warned her in a low tone.
Khushi came out of the police station and went to the tea shop that was opposite the station. That was when someone extended a tea glass to her. She looked at the person. it was a woman PC.
"Take it..." the PC said.
Taking the glass from her hand, Khushi sipped.
"I have been seeing you coming to the police station for a month. Don't take me wrong... these guys won't help you... and definitely not after knowing the involvement of ASR in this case."
"Is he that bully?"
"Who knows? No one has seen him ever... no one knows what he looks like... he is a mystery... you are looking like a girl from a good family. Please don't get into his matter... you are a young girl. Save yourself... leave Mumbai... I'm telling this for your betterment" the PC left the place, leaving Khushi in a whirl of thoughts.
To be continued...
