Friends and Farewells
~Piper's Bedroom~
Piper's P.O.V.
Legolas had said goodnight to me and Seregon and had headed off to his room. I'm sure he was tired from today and I was curious if me and Hostien's scheme worked. But my thoughts drifted to another soul who was hurting from a past experience that is so unforgettable and maybe impossible to heal from.
While I was thinking, the very person knocked on my conjoining door between the two rooms. I called out and told them to come in. She peeked in and then came inside closing the door behind her. I invited her to sit on the bed and she proceeded too.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Oh I just wanted to talk about the trip." And a few other things.
Seregon's P.O.V.
Piper had asked me come to her room after a few minutes to talk. I wondered what she wanted. Piper was always a good friend to me. We had practically grown up together in Bree and we always looked out for each other.
I knocked on the door and a voice from the other side bid me to come in. I opened it slightly to make sure and then entered the room. Piper invited me to sit on the bed, and since I didn't know what we were talking about or how long I decide it would be a good idea to be comfy. I sat on the bed and asked the question that had been nagging at my mind.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Oh, I just wanted to talk about the trip." she said, but I heard that hint in her voice that it was also about something else.
I raised my eyebrow at her,"Okay, what about it."
"Well," she siting up and pulling her legs closer to her and crossing them,"I was wondering how you were feeling about it. I mean, we don't know how long this journey will be and I would understand if you wanted to go home. No one would blame us for not going."
Go home. That's something I hadn't planned on doing for another ten years or more if possible. There was too much pain there still, and I didn't want to have to explain why I just ran off and disappeared. If anything this trip would be perfect because it would get me away from home and my mind off..him.
"No, I want to help Dasia. And besides I can't go home yet, it hurts too much."
Piper looked me with sadness in her eyes. "If that's what you really want."
"It is." I assured her.
She sighed,"Okay, but you have to go back sometime."
I sighed,"I know, just not yet."
"Well it's settled then. We're in this adventure together."
I nodded in agreement. We talked a little more about what would be good to bring, it has to be light but long lasting since we did not know how long we would be on this journey and we would most likely need speed. This kind of planning was mostly common to us since Piper and me were Rangers and usually planned like this all the time. Although usually we knew how long we would be gone and where we were going.
After we finished talking I went back to my room to go to bed. We had an early start tomorrow preparing for the trip and I didn't want to be sleepy while doing it. When I snuggled into my warm bed, couldn't help but think of home and how much I missed it, and I didn't know if I would ever want to go back as long as he was there.
~The Next Morning in the Kitchen~
Angelica's P.O.V.
It was ten minutes till dawn, I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand and set down the tray I was holding. I had been for an hour making Lembas for our trip, and I was slightly tired from standing for so long. But the kitchen wasn't altogether cleaned even though I had done some while waiting for the Lembas. Now that that was off the list I needed to make some bread. Gertrude had always helped me with this stuff but she was still feeling under the weather.
I was starting to get the ingredients out to make bread when I heard someone come into the kitchen. It was Luna, she was yawning from just waking up. I kept moving knowing she would need some space to make breakfast.
She looked around the kitchen a bit surprised. She probably did't know I would clean up my mess.
"Don't worry, I'll be out of your hair in a couple minutes and it'll look like I've never been here." I said.
"Wow, you've been busy." She said looking at the Lembas. "I didn't know you knew how to make Lembas, or anything for that matter." The last part was muttered to her self but I still heard it.
I smiled, I thought it was quite funny how she thought I knew nothing about what ladies do. Well, I might not know all of it, but what I don't know I have a pretty good idea.
"How long have you been up?"
I thought for a moment and then answered,"I think about an hour now."
She took a moment to process this information, and looked as if she understood. She probably had figured out that I woke up around five. Anyways I was starting to mix the ingredients when she began to talk again.
"Is there something I can help you with?"
I was a bit surprised by the question and might have said no but I hadn't sat down in over an hour so I decide it would be wise of me to except the offer. "Um, yes. Could you get two trays from the covered and butter them so the rolls won't stick?"
She nodded and did as I asked. When she was finished I was done making the dough and was making the rolls. She brought the buttered trays over to where I was and I started to put the rolls on the trays.
"Thank you." I said to her while I was working.
"You're welcome." She said with a smile. Wait..a smile? She actually smiled. She never did that unless it was the king. I had to admit she looked prettier when she did it. I could get used to this.
"So how have you enjoyed your walks with the king?" I asked trying to break up the awkward silence.
She blushes slightly at the thought of her walks with him. "They are very pleasant."
I smiled and nodded at her answer. "What do you do during them?"
"Oh we talk, usually about things that are happening in Mirkwood or Rivendell or the palace in general. Sometimes we talk about different people and I get to learn some of who does what."
"You're from Rivendell?"
"Yes."
"I've been there before, it's beautiful."
"Indeed it is. When did you go? I don't remember anyone from Mirkwood coming there."
I smiled, "Well that makes sense since I haven't been there since I was an elfling."
She made an oh expression. I had finished making the rolls and I put them into the oven. As I started to clean up I searched for something to talk about.
"So what sorta things about Mirkwood do you talk about?"
"Oh the gardens and palace. Actually, the other night we talked about you."
I raise my eyebrows in surprise, why would they be talking about me? "Me?"
"Yes, we were talking about how upset you get when you lose your bow." I smiled, I wished I could've heard that conversation.
"Did you talk about anything else?"
"Um, no." I thought that there was more but she said nothing. So I continued to clean up.
"I'm sorry." I was confused at this sudden statement and stopped what I was doing and turned around and looked at her.
"Why are you saying sorry? Sorry for what? You didn't do anything."
She shook her head,"No, I have done something. I've missed judged you since the first time I met you," we both smiled slightly at the memory,"I haven't treated you right. I thought you were so reckless. And then I found out why."
Now I was really confused, for one Luna the elleth who I thought hated my guts is apologizing to me and admitting she was wrong. On top of it she has a reason why I'm that way and I have no clue what reason she has.
"Why?"
She looked slightly uncomfortable but went on,"King Thranduil told me that you lost your mother when you were young." I made an oh expression and looked down. "I know what's that like and I'm sorry." I don't know what I was expecting but definitely wasn't that.
"You do?"
"Yes, you see I lost my sister and father and I haven't been the same since. I know what it's like to lose a loved one."
"I'm sorry." I said and I meant it. I knew there was something that made her so edgy and cold but I had no idea.
"It's okay," she smiled slightly at the next part," Actually you remind me a lot of my sister."
I was surprised,"I do?"
"Yes. That's partially why I've been so hard on you." It all clicked in my mind and I understood completely.
"So can we start over and be friends?" She asked a bit nervously.
I smiled and nodded. I walked over to where she was and held my hand out,"Hi, I'm Angelica."
She smiled and giggled and took my hand,"I'm Luna."
"Well Luna, now that we are done with the formalities I think a hug would be a better way to greet a friend."
"I agree." Then we hugged and when we pulled apart Luna wiped some tears away from her cheek.
"It's okay, we're friends now. What's in the past is in the past." She nodded and smiled. "And since we aren't in the past I think we need to focus on the present world problem and that is breakfast."
She smiled and laughed at my joke. "Okay. Do you want to help me conquer this world problem before it become a devastating disaster."
I smiled,"I thought you'd never ask." With that we started to make breakfast. We were almost done when Luna shooed me out of the kitchen to go freshen up and change before breakfast and she would do the same. I walked out of the kitchen thinking that I hadn't only made Lembas, but a friend as well.
~ ~ ~
I had reached my room and opened the door to find a still sleeping Hosien. I close the door and she still didn't wake up. I grinned mischievously,"Hostien, oh Hostien." I whispered as I stood over her. Nothing, she was still knocked out. Well there was only one way to wake up an oversleeping best friend. Oh this is going to be rich, I thought as I walked over to the balcony. I turned around facing my bed where Hostien was on the other side.
I took in a deep breath and with a grin I bolted towards the bed. I jumped up on it with half of my body on Hostien screaming,"Wake up!" Hostien's eyes immediately shot open surprised at the sudden out burst as I leaned against the head of the bed. She sat up looking around the room and I tapped her shoulder and crossed my outstretched legs. She turned and looked at me, oh that face was priceless, I almost busted out laughing. That was so worth it, even though I was about to be murdered.
"You." She hissed. Her anger rising breaking a record I'm sure.
I smirked,"Good morning to you too sleeping beauty."
Her face was starting to turn red, oh dear. She's in Hosien fireball mode. This seemed a slightly less great idea. I thought about my chances of living, and they looked pretty slim. I prayed that Haldir would walk in and save me, but with my bad luck the last two days I had a bad feeling he wouldn't. What a terrible fate.
"WHY ON EARTH DID YOU JUMP IN MY BED AND WAKE ME UP SCREAMING AS IF THERE IS AN ORC ATTACK?!" Oh boy, way to go Angelica. I hope this is still worth it in the end.
"You needed to wake up."
She looked like she gotten even angrier, which I didn't think it was possible but unfortunately for me it was. She narrowed her eyes at me, uh oh I better come with something fast. She launched at me but fell on the bed as I jumped off of it. She got up, I think she's reached the annoyed level. We were circling the room and she threw a pillow at me and I dodged.
She was throwing more pillows. I dodged another, and another. Man, how many pillows did I have? She was throwing more and I was trying to dodge the one but it hit me and she took the opportunity to tackle me onto the bed. She was sitting in my stomach with a pillow pinning me down.
"Now Hostien before you kill me," she looked even angrier, I got to come up with something fast,"um..you might want to...um.." Dangit, I couldn't think of anything. As I was getting ready to face my fate, I was determined to die a valiant warrior, a knock came at the door.
"Yes?" I choked out, Hostien not budging a bit. It was the maid.
"Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm quite well thank you." Yes I did lie but the glare I was receiving from Hostien told me I had better not tell the truth or I was dead meat, not that I wasn't already but you know what I mean.
"Alright," she said not really believing me,"I just thought you would like to know that breakfast is going to be served soon so you should get ready."
As soon as she said the word breakfast Hostien's eyes lit up. Now what is up with her? She jumped off off me and to the bathroom to I suppose freshen up.
"Um, thank you for the reminder."
"Your welcome." and the maid walked off. I sat there a bit stunned, breakfast! Why didn't I think of that? If that makes Hostien not kill me in the future then I was going to make a note of that. A good note, a permanent note or my life in Middle Earth may not be permanent anymore.
We went down and had breakfast which passed uneventfully, except for a wink from Legolas. I really hope Hostien didn't catch that, but then again there is very little she misses. We went off our separate ways. Me and Hostien went back to my room where she practically killed me to make me tell her that me and Legolas weren't officially courting but we were going to try a relationship that is more than a friendship. I don't think that anybody in Middle Earth can squeal as loud as Hostien. I promise you a little kid in the Shire heard it and probably thought it was an earthquake, it had to have shaken all of Middle Earth I'm positive.
We ate lunch and then surprisingly the King didn't have his usual walk with Luna. Instead he said he needed to talk with Haldir about our plans and then someone else. Wonder who that is. But I wouldn't get to find out because me and Hostien were going to pack the little we needed for the trip after I sent Glimfeather to give a message to Lady Galadriel informing her of our plans. Me and Hostien were upstairs in my room just starting to pack....
~Angelica's Room~
"So why do you think King Thranduil didn't take his "usual" walk with Luna?" Asked Hostien who was being lazy and not packing, instead it was more of me packing for her and her just laying there, doing what terrifies me the most, thinking.
"I don't know. He wanted to talk wit Haldir and someone else? It must have been important. Besides, they have their evening walk to make up with it."
"Yeah you're right."
"So are you going to help me or not?"
"Nah, I mean you're so good at it and I wouldn't dream of depriving you of all the fun you're having." She said sarcastically.
I rolled my yes and snorted, "Oh yeah, I'm just having loads of fu-" and then there as a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" Yelled Hostien from the bed. I shook my head and went to get a slit dress for her. Although they're elegant it's not the best idea to go off gallivanting into the forest with silk floor length dresses.
"It's me." Said he voice from the other side.
"Well that was vague." I said from my wardrobe. We both knew who it was by the response.
"What do you want Ishmael?" Replied Hostien.
He opened the door slightly and peeked in. After he was sure he was okay he opened the door and walked in and sat on the bed.
"Hey!" Whined Hostien from the bed.
He ignored her, "Nice room you have here Ang."
"I told you not to call me that."
"Do you have something you need to tell us or are you randomly picking on us to irritate the living day lights out of?"
"Touché. Sorry I was just trying to warn you about the storm that's approaching this way with high speeds."
"What storm?" I asked, turning away from the wardrobe suddenly intrigued at what this storm might be.
"Oh, so you don't know."
"Just spit it out already Ishamel!" He wasn't taking Hostien seriously so she added, "Or I'll tickle it out of you!"
The smirk that was in his face died instantly as he subconsciously inches away from Hostien on the bed. "Okay, okay."
"So you'll tell us?" I asked.
"Yes, if only under human derest. So the storm is your father."
"Tree?"
"Ada?" Me and Hostien said at the same time.
"Yep and he's coming your way." Ishamel said pointing his finger at me.
"What's got him so mad?" Said Hostien just as curious as me.
"You know how King Thranduil didn't take his "usual" walk with Luna after lunch because he said that he wanted to talk with Haldir and someone else?"
"Yeah?" Me and Hosien said.
"Well guess who that someone else is."
Me and Hostien looked at each other still confused. "So what does that have to do with me? Did I miss translate a word in a letter or something?" I said jokingly high fiving Hostien and laughing.
"Yeah go head, laugh now but you won't be when Tree gets here ."
"Why?" Asked Hostien.
"Because guess what the King and Tree talked about."
"What?" I asked.
"You two just don't get it!" Said Ishmael irritated.
"Get what?!" I asked getting slightly irritated myself. And then it clicked, Hostien must have gotten it too because we looked at each other at the same time and back at Ishmael.
He smirked,"Well you finally got it."
"You don't really mean.." I asked leaving the sentence hanging for we all knew what I was saying.
He nodded,"Yep, they talked about your awesome decision to help hide a human and travel Middle Earth if that's what it takes." My eyes slid shut and as my worst nightmare came true. This was horrible.
"Anyways," he continued,"I've got more important thing to do then to stand around and get killed by a live tornado so I'll be on my way...." Ishmael said getting off the bed and heading towards the door.
"Important things like like kissing Iliana?" Said Hostien while smirking, me and her high fived again as Ishmael slightly blushed at the moment and rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Elleths." He said as he closed the door.
Me and Hostien finally got control of our laughing and I went background packing. Or at least as much as I could finish before I became elf roast. And that's when we heard it. Very distinctive footsteps were coming down the hall toward my room, fast.
Oh boy, I thoughts, here we go. Me and Hostien were thinking the same thing when a bang...um..I meant a knock came form the door.
"Come in." I said almost feeling as high I would choke on my words. Now don't take me wrong, my father would never hurt me but that didn't mean it was Christmas either.
"Angelica." My father said as he came in. My back was to him as I was folding a garment but I didn't need to see him to tell by his voice that he was livid. Well this isn't going to be afternoon tea discussion. By the look on Hostien's face I'd say I guessed right.
"Hello Father." I said, finishing the garment I was folding and placing it in the leather saddle bag.
"Don't 'Hello Father' me we need to talk, now." He put a specially emphasis on the last word, something that me and Hostien didn't miss.
"Hostien, will you please leave us for little while? There is something I wish to discuss with Angelica alone." Since my back was to him I told Hostien with my face, pleading her not to leave me. Although my father's glare had a little more affect on her. Drat.
"Yes father." She said in a whimper, getting up from the bed.
"Thanks a lot." I muttered to her. She shrugged and gave me the 'I'm sorry ' look but that wasn't too comforting. I continued to pack, my father just standing there like a bomb waiting to go off.
"I presume you know why I'm here." He said.
Actually not entirely, no. "On the contrary, I do not, but I'm sure you will fix that." I said a bit sarcastically.
He didn't seem to like that so I wiped the smirk I had on my face off. "I talked with the King today and learned some very interesting news."
"Really?"
He ignored me and continued,"..news that you neglected to tell me."
"Imagine that." Knock it off Angelica, as you trying to get yourself killed today?
"Don't get smart with me. You know exactly what I'm talking about."
"I do?"
"Yes you do! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Tell you what?" I asked innocently, unfortunately he wasn't buying it.
"You know very well what! Why didn't you tell me that you were leaving Mirkwood to go on this..this..this thing to help a human you don't even know!" He sounded out ragged.
"Oh, that." I said calmly, that only irritated him more. I really wished Hostien would've killed me earlier. That would've been the nicest thing anyone in my entire life had done.
"So?!"
"So what?" I asked, trying to be as naive sounding as possible. But when it's my father, well let's just say it's impossible to fool him.
"You can't seriously believe you're going."
"And why in earth not?" He seemed insulted by the question.
"Why on earth- how can you even ask that? There are plenty of reasons why not!"
"And they are?"
"Well for one you're too young." I snorted.
"Too young? Please Ada, I'm over a thousand years old. How can that possible be too young? It's not like I haven't traveled in Middle Eart before." Point for Angelica. I shot down his reason and I was mentally giving myself a pat on the back. Unfortunately I forgot for a moment that 'reasons' was plural. Details, details.
"Uh well." He was a bit flabber gasted because he knew I was right but he came up with another excuse,"It's too dangerous."
I raise my eyebrow at him. What sorta reason is that? "Too dangerous? Too dangerous for whom?"
"You of course!"
"Now that's funny father, because the last time I checked I was the best fighter in all of Middle Earth. Did something change that I didn't know about?" Point two for team Angelica. I'm on a roll.
"No of course not. But you knew what I meant."
I looked at him, I really had no clue what he was talking about,"Um, no Ada. I don't. "
He sighed, I could feel some of his anger melt away,"It's too dangerous because they might find out about you."
Oh, now we're at the root of the discussion. I was now more concerned about my father then my packing."You don't have to worry Ada. They won't find out. There's no way they will, and besides. If they had known they would've already come, right?" I asked hopefully.
He calmed down significantly,"Your right." He said with a sigh,"It's just..it's just when I see you I see your mother. You're so much like her you know? I just remember what happened. And I just don't want that to happen to you, ever."
"Oh Ada." I said a bit choked from what he had said. I walked over to him and give him a big hug. We cried a bit and then pulled apart slightly.
"You're not going to let that stop you, are you?" He asked as he wipe some of the tears on my face away with the back of his hand.
"No." I said.
"You sure you want to do this?"
I looked him straight into the eyes. "Yes Ada, I'm sure."
"Alright. Come on now, give me that smile." I smiled at him, he as really doing the best he could.
"That's my girl." He said and kissed the top of my forehead. "Alright now. You've got some packing to do if you're going in that trip tomorrow." I smiled at him.
He was almost to the door when he turned around and looked at me to say one more thing,"And Angelica?"
"Yes?"
"You should've jumped out the window." I laughed at his teasing comment as he closed the door. I sighed and looked around the room. This was definitely going to be a memorable trip, it was already and we haven't even started yet.
~Meanwhile in the King's Chambers~
"Yes Ada?" said Legolas coming into his father's Chambers as requested.
"Ah Legolas, come here. There are some things that I wish to speak to you about." Legolas walked towards his father who was looking out into the balcony. When he reached Thranduil, he began to speak.
"Legolas, what do you think about Luna?"
He thought for a moment before answering,"I think she's a very kind hearted elleth. She's beautiful too." Legolas added with a little smirk.
"Yes that she is. How would you feel if I decided to court another elleth?"
Legolas thought for a moment,"I think it would be fine. As long as she was nice, had caramel hair and green eyes, and red lips."
Thranduil smiled slightly at Legolas's requirements."Well, I'm sure I have no doubt that I will be able to meet your requirements son."
Legolas smiled,"This elleth wouldn't happen to be by any chance to be Luna, would it?"
"You have guessed right my son. Yes it would be Luna."
"How do you feel about her?" Legolas asked curiously.
The king thought for a moment before answering, "I haven't felt this way about anyone since your mother died."
Legolas nodded, knowing his father was sincere and he wanted him to be happy. "In that case I think it would be a wonderful decision to court her."
"I'm glad you feel the same way I do."
"So is there anything else?"
"As a matter of a fact yes."
Legolas was curious at what else his father wanted to talk to him about, but he waited patiently for his father to continue. "I heard from Haldir that you are planning to go with them on this trip to help the human Dasia."
"Yes." I said not sure at what he was getting at.
"Is there a reason why?" He probed.
"Well, I want to help." It sounded weird even to his own ears.
"Are you sure there isn't another reason?" Thranduil asked his son suspiciously.
Legolas was about to say no when his father looked at him, the words drowning in his throat. "Well...um...maybe."
"There either is or there isn't."
"Well, okay. Yes there is."
"It's Angelica isn't it?"
"Ada!"
"What? You can't deny it. I know you've had you're eye on her for quite some time. That is why you have ignored all the other elleths and have been so distracted lately, isn't it?"
Legolas was a bit surprised at how blunt his father was, but he had to admit that he as right. "Yes, it is." He said.
"So when as you going to go into an official courtship?"
"ADA! I can't just ask her so suddenly! Although I admit I like that we are not ready for that yet."
"Funny, you've known each other for a thousand years and are finally ready to kiss yet you say you aren't ready for courtship?"
"What? Who says we kissed?"
"I do for one. And you can't deny it. We both know it's true, I can see it in your eyes. Am I right?"
Legolas looked down for a minute and then back at his father."Yes." He sighed,"But I still don't know how you knew."
King Thranduil smiled, "I may be old son, but my eyes have yet to fail me yet. You have that same exact look in your eyes as I did when I was courting your mother. "
Legolas smiled at the mention of his mother. "So when are to you going to ask Luna?"
King Thranduil thought for a minute and then answered, "There's no time like the present. I suppose I'll ask her tonight when we have our walk." Legolas nodded in approval, "When as you going to ask Angelica?"
"I'm not sure. I'll just have to wait for the right time." Thranduil nodded to his son's decision.
"Well I guess this discussion is over then. You may leave."
Legolas nodded and slightly bowed and walked to the door.
"Thank you father."
His father nodded,"Where are you going now?"
"I'm not sure."
Thranduil smiled slightly, although Legoals couldn't see it since his back was to him. "Give her a kiss for me."
Legolas rolled his eyes and shook his head as he walked out and closed the door.
Thranduil stood there by himself thinking, "Legolas has picked a jewel. He better cherish it, or one day it might be gone suddenly."
~At Angelica's Room~
Legolas's P.O.V.
I arrived at Angelica's room and knocked in the door. I heard a muffled 'come in'. I opened the door to see Angelcia latching up a leather satchel that I assumed was either her's or Hostien's for the trip.
"Yes, can I help y-" Angelica said as she turned around and saw me. "Oh Legolas, I didn't know it was you. Do you need something?"
I smiled as I answered, "Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I am looking for someone." I said as I walked toward her.
Her eyebrow lifted slightly as she answered,"Who are you looking for?"
"Oh, just the prettiest elleth in all of Mirkwood." I said slyly.
"Well then you missed Luna. She's in the kitchen I believe making dinner." She said and smirked at me.
Alright we can play this way. "Let me correct myself, in looking for the most beautiful elleth in Mirkwood."
"Well you've lost me there. I'm not sure I can help you much."
I walked closer to her and looked at her face and then pretend as if I had a moment of understatement. "Nevermind! I found her. She was right in front of me the whole entire time." She blushes slightly and I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
"Is she now? Was there something you needed from her?"
"Yes as a matter of a fact there is."
"And what is-"
"But I think I can help myself." With that I closed the distance and planted a kiss on her lips like I had wanted to do all day.
"That's an interesting need." She said when we pulled apart.
"Oh yeah, and I forgot something."
"What?" I kissed her again.
"That was from my father."
"Really? He told you to kiss me for him?"
"Yep."
"I don't think that's what he meant."
I shrugged, "Well it is to me if it suits my purposes."
She rolled her eyes. But she couldn't fool me, I know she was amused at what I said.
"You hungry?"
"Mhm." She said.
"Why don't we walk down then?"
"Alright." She said. I knew that if I held out my arm she probably wouldn't take it so we held hands on our way to the dinning hall. When we were about to enter we let go off each other's hands, I was slightly disappointed by this, but I knew there would be plenty of time in the future to hold her hand.
~End of Dinner~
Thranduil's P.O.V.
I was slightly less talkative at dinner than usual, but I kept on thinking about how I was going to ask Luna if I could court her. After dinner finished, which seemed sooner then I had expected, me and Luna headed to the gardens for our evening stroll.
When we reached the gardens the stars were starting to come out lighting up the sky. Me and Luna walked until we came to our favorite path that lead to a beautiful spot with a bridge.
"You're quiet tonight Thranduil, are you feeling alright?" Luna asks with a sweet voice filled with concern.
I broke out of the daze I hadn't even realized I was in and looked into her eyes. "Yes, thank you I am quiet well."
"Alright." She said, not looking too convinced. We reached the end of the path where it lead to a bridge that went over a beautiful rushing river.
We started onto the bridge when I decided now was better then ever.
"Luna?"
"Yes?"
"There is something that has been on my mind lately. There is something I would like to talk to you about."
"Yes of course Thranduil, what is it?"
I got down on one knee, holding her hand. She as clearly in shock. "Luna, ever since I met you I was taken in by your beauty and your kind heart as well as your willingness to serve. It would give me much pleasure if you would do me the honor of courting you."
She looked absolutely surprised, but then a look of happiness swept over her face. "I would be delighted to." She said. I stood up and took something out f my pocket to reveal a silver necklace in the shape of a oval. It was surround with white diamond and in the middle was emerald stone that brought out the green in her eyes.
"May I?" I asked. She nodded and I put the necklace on her. I looked into her beautiful eyes that shone in the starlight. She looked breath taking in the moonlight.
And then I did what I had wanted to do since the first day I laid eyes on her. I put a hand around her waist pulling her closer to me and one behind her head as I place my yearning lips onto her soft warm ones. It was wonderful to have the feeling of my lips on her lonely ones.
Her arms encircled around my neck as our kiss deepened. As I had her I my arms I felt like I never wanted to let go. It seemed like we were there forever, and that time had stopped. We were both slightly disappointed at having to break the sweet kiss but we did in the knowledge that there would be many more to come.
I walked her back int the palace for it was getting late and we had an early start tomorrow. I walked her to her room and place a soft kiss on her lips once more before biding her goodnight and returning to my own room. It was indeed late into the night when I actually went to bed, for I could not stop thinking about the kissed we had shared. I went to bed, I could still feel her lips on mine and I couldn't wait till I could hold her in my arms again.
~The Next Morning~
Angelica's P.O.V.
Everyone has been up early and had had a good nights rest. We all had had breakfast and were getting our things together so we could leave. As me and Hostien were grabbing our things my father came in and told us both to be careful and to make him proud. He gave me and Hostien each a knife that was small enough not to be seen, but big and sharp enough to do damage. These weren't ordinarily knives. They were hard to see to the eyes of foes and would help protect yourself when in need. We both slide them into our boots and Carrie our stuff to the front gate where everyone was loading their horses.
Me and Hostien load our things onto our horses, which wasn't to much. Everyone had said their goodbyes. When I said good bye to Luna she had told me to be careful and come back to her. I laughed at her and said I would do my best but no promises and the we hugged. Everyone had mounted their horses, and after King Thranduil had said one last warning to us to be careful the front gate opened.
We rode out of Mirkwood's security and walls, with our cloaks and hair flying behind our backs and for some of us towards our homes. So the nine set out, including Glimfeather who had returned from Lorien. Two Rangers, two brothers, a human, a best friend, the king's son, and a bird brain. I could tell this was going to be a journey, that I'm sure none of us will ever forget.
