(A/N): this is the beginning to a string of one shots for Halloween this month! It's just an intro to what's to come rather than it's own one shot. So sit back relax, and allow me to show you to the door.

The hallway was dark. Looming. Shadows danced along the walls beckoning you down them. Showing you to the door at the end of it all, like monsters in your nightmare urging you to walk forward.

There with outstretched hand the handle was grasped. Turned allowing the door to open. It  creaked upon the weight added to it, pushed open effortlessly revealing a dimly lit library.

Books now took the place of the taunting shadows, towering high above you with cobwebs dangling from each shelf all connecting to the chandelier in the middle of the room. And just underneath it in a lavish lounge chair donnie sat comfortably, legs crossed hands pressed together in a prayer like position.

His eyes closed until the door creaked revealing someone was at the door. They opened in an instant.

"Ah," he slowly looked towards the door, "I see you've come to see what this is about."

The figure walked further into the room, feet sinking into the plush rug, now catching sight of the raging fire just behind him. The flames rose to lick the inside of the fireplace warming up the room. (Giving it a cozy atmospheres despite the cobwebs and darkness that shrouded the room.)

"My dear readers, I have a collection of tales for you on this frightful October night." Donnie smiled, motioning for you now to take a seat, looking across the way at a second lounge chair.

You slowly walked forward taking a seat hesitantly, falling into the cushion with ease. It was warm and now that you were sitting in it you realized also made of leather. Though that didn't take away from the eeriness of the situation.

"You see I, brilliant master mind, tried a series of experiments on my brothers. Unfortunately, not naming names on who's fault it is, they failed. I am here tonight to share with you the horrid tales of their misfortune!" Donnie laughed as lightening flashing behind him. The rain pounded harder against the window causing your eyes to look up towards the sound, seeing the lightening flash just for a moment.

Donnie cleared his throat into his first. Quickly shaking his head. It looked like the evil laughter was an accident.

"Sorry, I was just thinking about how ridiculous they all looked at one point." Donnie waved his hand dismissively.
"Anyway, I'd like to formally welcome you to a night in my lab."

A smile stretched out across his lips again as the fire went out on its own. Casting those playful shadows across the room.

"I hope you all enjoy my genius. As well as proceed with caution....After all my dear readers these stories are also about you."
