"you okay, p?" richie asks parker as they stand on the edge of a cliff. they were at the quarry. the boys stood in nothing but their underwear. parker still wore her white tanktop and jean shorts. she didn't want to jump.

"yeah." she keeps her answer short. she's tired, she didn't get much sleep the night prior. all she kept seeing was the clown.

"so, who's going first?" stan asks. everyone looks at each other. no one wants to go first.

"i'm not doing it." parker turns around and begins walking.

"come on, parker!" eddie calls after her. but she keeps walking. she's too scared to jump. the boys shake their head and go back to looking forwards.

beverly marsh appears riding her bike. parker forgot she was invited. beverly smiles at her, parker politely smiles back.

beverly gets off her bike and begins to take her shoes off. "wanna jump with me?" she whispers as she takes her dress off.

"no, i'm too scared." parker mumbles. yet, she finds herself taking off her shoes too.

"it'll be fun." bev says, dragging out the words. parker gives in and takes her tank top and shorts off.

"so who's going?" the girls hear richie asks as they approach them.

"we are!" beverly says and then she starts to run. she grabs parker's wrist and drags her with her. parker starts to change her mind. but it's too late.

"fuck!" parker screams as the top of her lungs as her and bev plummet to the water. she closes her eyes as she hits the cool water. she goes up for air with a smile on her face.

"holy shit!" she hears richie yell from the top of the cliff. "we just got showed up by girls!"

parker and beverly giggle. "see! i told you it would be fun." beverly says, a grin on her face. parker decided that maybe beverly wasn't so bad after all.

one by one all the boys jumped into the water. all laughing as they went down, except eddie and stan, they screamed like children.

the seven swan out a little further then they all began to splash each other. parker forgot about the clown, the crows, and her fears. she felt happy and was having fun.

"chicken fight!" richie shouted. beverly got on bill's shoulders.

"come on, p," richie helped parker onto his shoulders. he placed his hands on her bare thighs. parker shivered, richie felt his breath hitch. he was touching her bare skin.

"you g-g-guys a-are going d-d-down!" bill says, a playful smile on his face. beverly smirked in response.

"yeah, right!" richie rolls his eyes. he grips parker's thighs harder and charges at bill and bev.

beverly and parker begin to try and push each other off. richie and bill cheer their partners on. parker almost gets bev off but bill saves her.

"hey parker, i hope you like the taste of seaweed!" bev says, a laugh coming out of her mouth.

parker gives her a confused look before beverly shoves her off richie's shoulders. she falls all the way under the water. her eyes open. in the distance she sees something swimming towards her.

she squints her eyes to see it. she finally recognizes what it is. pennywise the dancing clown. her eyes widen as it swims even faster towards her. it's like she's in a trance.

she then realizes what's going on and snaps out of it. she emerges from the water with a blood curdling scream. she flails around in the water. her fears and flashbacks to the previous night returning.

"parker?" richie swims over to her. he gently grabs her arms. she stops thrashing around in the water. "park, are you okay?"

all the other kids stare at her. she doesn't want to tell them what she saw. they'll think she's crazy, out of her mind.

"i-i saw a..." she hesitates on her words. "i saw, uh, a fish. i saw a fish and it scared me." she finishes lamely.

"you got scared of a fish?" ben asks, a confused look on his face. he didn't understand how anyone could be scared of a freaking fish.

"parker is scared of everything." eddie says to ben. everyone, except bev, nods their head in agreement.

parker was scared of most things. crows being her biggest fear. she had so many fears it was hard to keep count. it's like she developed a new one each day.

"yeah," she sheepishly chuckles, "i get scared a lot. that's all."

the boys stare at the two girls who sun tan. they lie on a towel, basking in the sun. their eyes are shut so they don't notice the stares.

richie can't take his eyes off parker. her pale skin glows under the sun. she looks like an angel.

parker opens her eyes and from the corner of her eye sees the boys staring. she nudges bev with her elbow.

"it's like they've never seen a girl before." parker whispers. bev chuckles.

"you, know richie looks like he just saw god himself. he must like you." bev says, a small smile on her lips. parker blushes and shakes her head.

"nah," she makes eye contact with richie. he immediately looks away. "he doesn't like me. he's probably just kidding with me half of the time."

bev looks over to the other boys and their heads snap away. the girls chuckle to themselves.

"hey what's this?" richie asks as he pulls a folder out of ben's backpack. "history homework?"

"derry isn't like any other town i've been in before." the two girls get up and go by the boys. beverly sits in between bill and ben. parker sits next to richie. "people go missing six times the national average. and that's just adults. kids are worse. way worse."

"let me see." parker reaches her hand out and takes the folder. she looks through all the events ben has in there.

"i have more if you wanna see." ben says. parker stops going through the papers.

"no, not really." eddie says shaking his head. parker gives him a 'seriously?' kind of look.

"let's go."
