Prologue
"Attention passengers this is your captain speaking, our flight 6399 will no longer be heading towards St. Louis as we have been hijacked to fly to Long Island. I apologize and we are doing everything we can to stop..."
A loud bang is heard through out the cabin of the air craft and cuts the captain off mid sentence. All we can hear is the scratching sound of a walkie-talkie that has lost its signal, and then it all went dark.

It's the year 3000, and nearly everything the Jonas brothers said is true except living underwater, but that will probably happen within the next few years as well since global warming is still causing the oceans to rise.
My name is Ross Kenati Joseph. I'm 23 and not exactly as you would picture me. Some girls say I'm attractive, others call me a "babe", but I don't mind all that. I'm a detective for a secret military force that hasn't been released to the public yet. They say we're the "secret weapon" or the "Holy Grail" of the United States, but we'll never find out for sure until we get placed on a mission and it ranks successful.
I've been in the police force for five years. Fighting crime at the county level, a few theives here, a couple speedsters over there; I was the youngest in the state to serve on the police force and I ranked higher than most sheriff's in the Nation. It's pretty insane if I do say so myself.
I was raised in poverty. You can say I was the Aladdin of the Bronx, stealing what I couldn't afford, making the most out of what was available all the fun stuff most kids don't ever have to experience.
My mother died during childbirth. I never got to meet her, but the town adored her. She was the light to this messed up town and when she passed the town sank under. My old man was a drug dealer and still is. He wasn't there when I was born and he hasn't given a damn ever since I took my first breath of fresh air, so I was raised by my Aunt Claude, and like a phoenix rising from the ashes my life slowly got better which brings me to who I am today.
Every morning, I wake up and follow the same routine. I always have had this thing for routines since I was little. It helped me stay on track, now it's just a habit and the routines have changed quite a bit now since I actually have my life together.
Daily Routine (age 8)
▫ Brush teeth
▫ Get dressed
▫ take out the trash
▫ wake Aunt Claude
▫ "Grocery Shopping"
"Grocery Shopping" is exactly what you think it is. Aunt Claude could only make enough to save the house. Shelter has always been more important to her than food, so that was my job. Rummaging through the streets finding and stealing all the food I could without getting caught. Typical Aladdin of the Bronx, but this isn't a fairytale.
Now that I'm older, I no longer have to search for scraps. I can afford food and help pay the bills on Aunt Claude's house. All because one day in July of 2993, the day I finally got caught.
Annnnnnd we are back! I'm so excited about this book. I feel like my writers block won't affect me as much in this story since it's an adventure story so hopefully it's bound to be good. I also want to be able to incorporate my readers into the story! At the end of every chapter I'll have a few questions for readers to be able to answer to help spruce up the creativity and storyline of the book so stay tuned!
