Rosepaw stared at Kestrelstar as she talked about her clan.

Did she have Scarletkit?

She thought no, Scarletkit was most likely dead.

Rosepaw sighed and looked at her paws, but looked back up when Jadestar of ShadowClan began to speak.

"ShadowClan is doing well, we have one new warrior and two new kits!" Jadestar said happily, then nodded to Mossstar, who gave another boring speech about her clan.

Why do all the other clans get blessings? She thought as Mossstar finished.

"Gathering dismissed!" Risingstar yowled and hopped off the rock.

Rosepaw stood up and padded over to the rest of the gathering ThunderClan.

All the way back to camp, she couldn't get Kestrelstar's calmness towards the situation. Why did she act like she already knew?

Rosepaw shook her head, thinking it was just her imagination.

When they reached camp, everyone padded to their dens and laid down in their nests.

With Goosepaw and Burningpaw eating a thrush in the clearing, Rosepaw padded in to the apprentice den and curled up in her nest, in the dark, and alone.
