(Izuka's POV)

I watched as the giant robot I punched fell down, crashing into some of the destroyed buildings below. I can't believe I did that. I get myself start to fall. I looked down and I'm starting to head towards the ground really fast.

Izuka: I-I'm falling! I'm falling! Wait! Was that All Might's power?! Is that how I jumped so high?

I looked back, seeing my arm and my legs are broken. Tears welded up in my eyes as my body suddenly registered the pain.

Izuka: OWWWWWWWW?!

I kept falling down to the ground. I know All Might said that I wouldn't be able to get used to his power, but this is insane! Well, duh! I'm an idiot! It's only been ten months! I can barely contain it! I got carried away in that moment!

Izuka: I've only been given a place at the starting line! That's all!

I looked down at the ground as I'm getting closer to splattering on it. Think! What do I do?! What do I do?! Maybe I can do a Detroit Smash like All Might to break my fall! But my legs and right arm are shot! Gotta be the left arm! If I can aim at the ground...! But timing is everything!

Izuka: Too early or too late and I'm dead! Even if I pull it off, I've still got no points! And with my left arm broken... I can't possibly pass! I'm going to have to do another smash! Here goes!

I brought my left arm back and got ready to punch at the ground. Right before I could though, I saw a blur of red petals dash at me and mixed me into them, turning me into green petals. The bundle of petals landed on the ground and I turned back to normal. I looked ahead and saw (Y/N) breathing heavily.

Izuka: I'm saved... But is he ok?

(Y/N): You're... Safe now...

I saw (Y/N) fall down to his knees as he kept taking deep breaths. Thank goodness. I started to crawl forward using my left arm.

Izuka: Urghh. Just... One point...!

Mic: It's all over!

I heard a loud buzzer go off. I... I didn't get a single point. That giant robot was worth nothing. Absolutely nothing... I felt myself start to pass out from the pain I'm in. I closed my eyes as tears still escaped from them. I'm sorry... All Might...

(Readers POV)

I looked over and saw Izuka on the ground, passed out. Her arm and legs are bent in all the wrong directions and her arm is now a dark reddish color.

(Y/N): Just what was that? Izuka let out such strength. That had to be a Quirk. I know it has to be! But there's no way it could the case, right? For as long as I've know Izuka, she's been Quirk-less. Did she just now develop her Quirk over the past ten months?

Recovery Girl: Yes, well done.

I looked over and saw an old, short woman walking towards the scene. She started to hand people gummy bears.

Recovery Girl: Well done. Good work. Yes, yes. Haribo candy for you all. Eat up.

She walked over to me and handed me a few pieces of gummy bears. I put them in my mouth and eat them. They aren't as good as cookies, but they are still pretty good.

(Y/N): Who is she though?

Yuga: That mademoiselle. She's the backbone of U.A.

I saw her walk up to Izuka's body.

Recovery Girl: Oh my. So your own beloved Quirk did this to you.. Almost looks as though your body isn't used to it.

Her lips got super long as she placed a kiss on Izuka's body. I jumped back from shock! Thank goodness she didn't do that to me!

Yuga: Her Quirk is a Super Healing Factor. It's in large part thanks to her presence that U.A. dares to host such wild exams.

I looked closely and saw Izuka's body get fixed right up and any miss colored body parts went back to normal. I let out a sigh of relief. I thought I was going to only be seeing her in a hospital.

Recovery Girl: This one will be fine. Any other hurt children?

(Y/N): N-Nope! I'm completely fine!

(One Week Later)

I'm laying down in my bed. I'm waiting for a letter to come into the mail and it will tell me if I pass to go to U.A. I keep thinking about what I saw Izuka did to that giant robot. I just can't wrap my head around it.

(Y/N): Why didn't she tell me that she has a Quirk?

Yang: Who has a Quirk?

I jumped up from the sudden voice. I looked over and saw Yang standing next to my bed.

(Y/N): Oh hey sis.

Yang: Are you still thinking about what you told me about Izuka?

I nodded my head at her.

(Y/N): It's weird though. We are friends and I've known her to be Quirk-less, but she suddenly has a Quirk now. It just kinda feels like what I know about her was a lie.

Yang: Don't say dumb stuff like that! From what I heard, she had some serious firepower behind her punch so maybe she didn't tell you so you wouldn't get hurt by it.

(Y/N): Yeah... Maybe that's why.

Yang: Anyways I'm going to head out for some food. You want to come with me?

(Y/N): Are we going on your motorcycle?

Yang: You know it!

I jumped out of bed.

(Y/N): Let's get going! I'll bring Zwei!

Yang: Maybe not that last part!

(Izuka's POV)

I'm sitting at the table, eating dinner with my mom. My mind is still clouded up with what happened at the test. I didn't get a single point.

Inko: Izuka... Izuka? Izuka?! Are you ok?! Stop smiling at the fish!

I got snapped out of my thoughts and saw I was holding a fish head with my chopsticks.

Izuka: Ah, sorry... I'm fine...

I finished my food and got up from my seat. I walked over to the couch and sat down on it. By my own calculations, I just barely passed the written portion. But my incredible goose egg score in the practical makes it all pointless. And All Might hasn't contacted me ever since.

Inko: The letter... It should be come today or tomorrow, right?

Izuka: Mhm...

Inko: Oh! Your dear old mom thinks it's wonderful that you even tried!

Izuka: Mhm...

I never told mom about All Might. That's a secret I have to keep. I have to keep it a secret, even from my mom and (Y/N). So All Might can continue being the Symbol of Peace. I reached over to a weight and started to lift it up and down with one arm. All Might! I don't know what you saw in me. I'm sorry. But... I did what I thought was right. I did what I thought you wan-

Inko: Izu-Izu-Izuka! Izuka! It's here! The letter!

I looked over and saw my mom on her hands and knees and held out a letter that is signed by U.A. High School. I put down the weight in my hand and took the letter out of her hand. I got up and walked into my room. I walked over to my desk and sat down on my chair. I looked down at the letter. I don't even want to open it. I have to though!

Izuka: Urgh!

I ripped the letter open. I saw some small device land on my desk. It started to light up and a screen appeared above it.

All Might: I am here! In projection form!

Izuka: All Might?!

I looked down at the letter.

Izuka: Huh?! I thought this was from U.A.?!

All Might: It's been awhile. There's been much to deliberate on.

I saw All Might bow down on the screen. I noticed that he's wearing a nice yellow colored suit.

All Might: Apologies!

All Might stood up straight and looked at the front of the screen, making it look like he is staring right at me.

All Might: I'm in town for one reason only. I've come to teach at U.A.

Teach?! At U.A.?! All Might is?! I saw a hand come from the corner of the screen and pointed at All Might, making him look at the person that the hand belongs too.

All Might: What's that you?! Get to the point?! Whatever I want to say to her... Can be said later?! Ah, fine. Got it...

I looked at All Might, waiting to hear what this message has for me.

All Might: Even if you pass the written portion, getting zero points on the practical... Naturally results in failure.

I started to shake. My lips started to quiver as I tried to hold my tears in.

Izuka: I knew it! I knew it! I knew it, but...!

I gripped onto my pants tightly. I'm pathetic...!

All Might: But that's not the end of the story! Let me entertain you! Please watch the screen!

I looked up and saw All Might holding onto a remote and pointed it at a tv. The tv turned on and showed the giant robot from the practical. The scene zoomed in and showed everyone running from it and me crawling away from it.

All Might: As you can see, when the faux villain showed up, everyone ran away from it. Even you started to... But there was one person who didn't. Who you may ask?! Stay tuned!

It zoomed in again and I can see (Y/N), struggling to get his hood out from under some rubble.

All Might: Certain doom was about to hit this helpless boy! Everyone just ran to save themselves, except for you! You ran right at the villain and destroyed it in one attack and ruined your shots at passing just to save someone in need! This exam, you see, we weren't just watching for villain based points! A Hero course that rejects those who do the right thing is no Hero course at all!

I stood up from my seat in shock. There's no way... No way that I did pass...

All Might: Think this is all for the cameras?! Think what you want! In this job, you risk your life and put your money where your mouth is! Rescue points were also a factor here! Another fundamental way for U.A. to evaluate you! Sixty points for Izuka Midoriya!

I jumped up from both shock and excitement. Tears of joy perked up in the corner of my eyes.

Izuka: I... I never thought...

All Might held his hand out towards me, keep that never ending smile on his face.

All Might: You're in. Come now, Midoriya. This will be your Hero Academy!

The device turned off. I wiped my tears away. My life really has changed. All the help I got...

Izuka: YEAHH!!!

(8 P.M.) (At The Beach)

I was told to go to the beach and I saw All Might in his skinny form standing around.

Izuka: All Might!

I ran over to him while crying. He looked at me and blood spurted out of his mouth. I heard some people nearby that are looking around the beach.

Man: All Might?! No way?! Where?!

All Might: Repeat after me. "Just my eyes playing tricks on me!"

Izuka: Just my eyes playing tricks on me!

All Might raised his hand at me.

All Might: Congrats on passing.

I high-five'd All Might.

All Might: You should know that I haven't told the school about our relationship. You seem like the type who'd worry about favoritism. And I wasn't a judge.

Izuka: I appreciate it... So you're a teacher at U.A., All Might? That was a shocker. That's why we're netting here... I get it. Even though your office is located in Tokyo's Minato Ward, Roppongi-

All Might: Stop it.

All Might turned to look at the water, the water being slightly illuminated by the stars in the sky.

All Might: I couldn't tell anyone until the school made it public knowledge. I figured I could take the job at U.A. while searching for my successor.

Oh right! He was gonna choose from among the students! With their amazing Quirks... And raw talent... I looked down at my hands.

Izuka: One For All... My body is broken after a single punch or kick... I just can't wield it.

All Might: That's just how it is. If someone suddenly grew a tail, it's not like they'd be able to do tricks with it right off the bat.

Izuka: Huh... So you knew this would happen?!

All Might: Well... There wasn't enough time... But everything worked out all right. Or should I say All Might!

I awkwardly chuckled at All Might's little pun. I saw him reach down and picked up two empty cans from the sandy ground.

All Might: For now, it's still all or nothing. But once you figure out how to regulate the power, you can put out just as much as your body can handle. The more you temper your vessel, the better you can control the power!

All Might went all buff and crushed the two cans in one of his hands.

All Might: Like this. Like when passing the Olympic flame, the new torch burns weakly at first. But the coming tests and trials will fan it.

Man: Whoa. Huh... All Might?! Where'd he come from?!

All Might: Crap. Let's run.

All Might started to run away and I quickly kept up behind him.

All Might: Yes. My own flame will slowly wither and die... My duty fulfilled!

Izuka: Wow... So somber!
