Old memories

*SHATTER*

Bits and pieces of brown glass from an empty beer bottle go everywhere.

Pete was mad again. His cigarettes were empty. I forgot to buy more on the way home..

"I tell you one thing to do. And you failed." His words slur together, as he slowly approached me.

My heart was in my throat, i was sure this wasn't gonna end well. Wouldn't be the first time this has happened.

He digs his hand into the pockets of the dirty jeans he was wearing and pulls out 10 dollar's.

"I'll give you 20 minutes. Go to the gas station up the street, or you know what will happen." He throws it at me and i nod vigorously. As he huffs away i make my way to the door and get out as fast as i can.

I was walking along, the sidewalk cracked by the roots of tree's. A 4 pack of cigarettes in my pocket, all for him to get messed up on. One day those ciggs are gonna get him sick, but he won't listen to me. I know he isn't the best uncle, but he's all the family i have left. He's only mean when he drinks one glass to many, but just 3 days ago the kindness of his broken soul took over. He gave me his old picture of mom.

"Hey Alex, I've got something to show you."

I look up from my half eaten bowl of cereal. "What is it?" I ask quietly. I hushed my voice somewhat only because i was unsure if he was trying to be nice or not.

"Come. Your gonna love it." He smiles warmly, and ushers me to follow.

I follow suit, kinda nervous of what this surprise is. He leads me to his room, which is quite messy.

He rummaged through a drawer, digging out a small box. Opening it up, he took out a picture. Just upon glancing at it his eyes went soft.

"It's an old pic of ma. When she was alive." He hands it to me.

I stare at it.

Ma..

She was in her favorite dress, light green with white dots all over. Her short hair messy and smile pure. My heart ached and eyes became glazed over. I miss her so much..

Pete then breaks the silence.

"Remember when she use to yell at us for eating all those cherries?"

I break eye contact from the picture.

"Yeah.. It got all over us." I say, grinning sadly.

"You and James were stained red for awhile. She was gonna make cherry pie but y'all were inpatient."

"To be fair, they were pretty sweet. Best cherries ever."

Who knew such a mean person at times could be nice.

As i kept walking along, the sun was slowly setting. Another day passes, and shadows of tree's and houses paint the sidewalk. My old converses dragging along, bringing back to when i use to walk the neighborhood in Nevis. The smell of people cooking dinner from open windows, all kinds of spices being drifted into the summer air. So humid out that the kids would play with the hose or splash in a blow up pool.

So much nostalgia clouds my head, that i don't even notice a someone walking behind me.

Yes it's been awhile my dudes. Slowly drifting away from the hamfandom, that idk if i wanna continue this. Don't really know where it's going and im not really reading lams fanfics anymore. I still will forever ship it, but this fanfic is going nowhere and i feel like y'all aren't into it as much. And i rarely update anyways, but school started up again and ya girl has been busy. I never wanted death so much in 2 weeks lol. But besides all that non sense rambling, point is that this fanfic sucks and there is no real plot happening so it might just die :)
