I awoke to something burning.

Springing out of bed, and dashing around to spot any smoke i instead see Pete by the stove. He was cooking something and obviously burning it.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I say with my groggy voice.

He spins to see me "Oh Alex! Your awake-" putting the pan in the sink, he turned the faucet on and the water hitting the hot pan making it sizzle.

I stood there staring at him dumbly.

"I was attempting to make breakfast for you an I, but things didn't go well.." He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Well ya scared me. Thought there was a fire." I said, running my tired eyes.

"Yeah, sorry bout that.."

"....."

"Hey, how about i just go get us something from McDonald's? They have some good breakfast stuff." Pete offered, putting on a smile to try to butter the fact that he almost burrnt the house down.

"Fine with me." I shrug.

As he did a air fist pump, i sighed and trudged over to the couch. Plopping myself down, he grabbed his Keys and headed off.

"I'll be back in a bit." He called out.

When he came back, i must've passed out without noticing, because i awoke to someone poking my arm.

Almost karate chopping said person, i take a sec to realise it's just Pete.

"Don't kill me now! I brought food." He lifted the familiar brown paper bag and i can feel my mouth drool.

He hands me a a plate of pancakes, a hashbrown, and a cup of organge juice. Life just got 10 times better.

John: hey u alive

I hear my phone ding, indicating that someone texted me. I put my oj aside, and reach for my phone.

Alex: not inside. Hbu

John:  wow. Im actually at the park with my little brother

Huh. Didn't know John had a brother.

Alex: didn't know u had a sibling :0

John: oh. Well i do :P

Alex:  kewl.

John: he's convinced that the monkey bars should have real monkeys on them. And tbh i agree, why name it that if there's no monkeys?? I say we sue somebody-

Alex: lmao. I have to agree with him on this one,

John: wanna come over? Im bored and all alone with a 4 yr old ;-;

Alex: but.. S u n l i g h t

John: yes, and you need it alot. Come outside you inside dweller

Alex: caNt maKe mE-

John: i packed Capri suns

Alex: ight. Be over in 10

John:  ;D

There was only one park in this part of town. It was not the best park, only having a few swings and slides here and there, but mostly it's were teenagers or elderly people hang out. Old people feeding bread to the ducks that never leave, and teenagers hanging out while smoking.

"Over here!" I snap my head toward who was yelling and it was John. He was sitting at one of the tables with who i assumed was his little brother.

"Hi." I greeted.

"Sup. Glad ya came, now here's that Capri Sun™ i promised." He tossed me one, and it was strawberry-kiwi flavored. The classic.

"Thanks. Also is that your brother?" I asked, while poking the straw into the pouch.

"Oh yeah, this is Henry. Say hi Henry."

"hi.." He shyly said, hugging John's leg.

"He's a bit shy. But once he gets to know ya he'll never stop bothering you."

"Im gonna go slide." Tiny Henry mumbled to John, and scurried away.

I sipped my juice, somewhat awkward now.

*a magical time skip bc writers block reasons*

Upside down on the swings, screaming from that weird drop inside your stomach. Hair dangling into the mulch while eyes are crinkled from the evening sky.

Laughs fill the air, as i push my body back upwards. Adjusting myself, i see John sitting on the swing next to me.

Everything is in slow mo as he reached over and cupped my face.

Heart is racing as soft lips touch mine, a jolt of shock coursing in my veins. So soft and smooth, i kiss back. But as soon as i do, the moment is short lived.

"Im sorry.. I don't know why i did that.."

"I kinda liked it."

"No.. It's.. No."

"But you liked it."

"And that's the problem. I loved it."

Another kiss, more passionate. This time a litte longer than the last. A burst of fireworks going off inside my chest.

He pulls away again, and looks into my eyes.

"And i think i love you.."

Years later, the most amazing day has arrived.

Rose petals decorate the floor, as the tiny child known as Phillip walks down the aisle. In his tiny hands the flower basket. Right behind him is me.

Take it slow but it's not typical

A white suit, black tie. Hair done in a low pony tail as i usually do, with a small flower clip behind my ear.

The love of my life is awaiting me ever so anxiously. 

He already knows that my love is fire

Arriving toward this lover I'll spend my days with, i see a glint of hope in there eyes. A small red rose in their hands.

"You look stunning." I whisper.

"As so you." They whisper back, smirking.

His heart was a stone but then his hands roam

"As we join these two lovers in holy matrimony, may they always be there for each other in sickness and in health, forever. Anyone who objects, may speak now or forever hold your peace."

I turned him to gold and i took him higher

"You may kiss the groom."

But I'll be your daydream

And we kissed, cheers from family and friends in the background.

"The stem of a rose might be covered in thorns, and trying to hold it with soft hands will prick you. But the flower never fails to be beautiful."

Its 3am. And i finally finished this god forsaken fic :'). Sorry if this was a crap ending but at least it ends happy. I just wanted to get done with it tbh. I hope this long ass chapter was worth it bc i never made a chapter this long before-
