BRYAN KENDRICK'S POV

"Kendrick?" I heard someone said after three knocks on my door.

"Come in." I said and continue fixing my polo.

"Ang tagal mo namang magbihis, naunahan pa tuloy kita." she said and then sit on my bed. I just look at her and continue what I am doing.

"May mga bagay akong dapat gawin para hindi ako mabisto." sabi ko sa kanya at umupo sa tabi niya. Tinitigan lang niya ako with a puzzled expression.

"Mabisto? What do you mean by that?" she innocently asked.

"Always put in your mind, alam lang nila na ako ang "wangja" nila once they saw my tattoo. Other than that, they don't have any identification para makilala pa ako."

"How about the others? I mean yung mga nakakita na sa'yo, anong ginawa mo sa kanila para hindi magsalita?"

"Take precautionary measure first, before telling my true identity." I answered and gave her a meaningful smile.

"Halika na nga sa baba, baka naghihintay na dun si appa." sabi niya tsaka hinila ako palabas ng kwarto ko.

"Ah wait, before I forget. I am your cousin, okay?" she said while looking in my eyes.

"Cousin?" I confusingly asked.

"Yes. How to say this? Ah, right, I am just taking some precautionary measures." she said and then grin in front of me.

"Ginaya mo lang ang sinabi ko sa'yo kanina."

"Ganun din naman yung sasabihin ko." she said and then continue walking down the stairs.

Naabutan namin si appa na may kausap sa phone, some important business maybe. Iba kasi ang ekspresyon ng mukha niya. Parang sobrang seryoso ng pinag-uusapan nila ng kausap niya sa telepono dahil hindi niya kami napansin na pumunta sa tabi niya.

"Oh, you are already here." appa said while putting his phone in his pocket.

"Let's go?" masayang aya ni ate kay appa. Tumango na lamang ang huli bilang sagot.

"Are there many people in the skating rink today?" my sister ask while going inside the car.

"Maybe no. It's very cold today." appa answered. I just silently went inside the car. Tahimik lang kami sa buong byahe namin. I can see from the peripheral view that my sister is happily looking on the sight of busy Seoul.

"Ganito pala kadami ang tao dito pag gabi." she suddenly said.

"Yup. Ganyan talaga, gising sila pag gabi." sagot ko naman sa kanya since I think appa will not talk to her. He doesn't want his cover to be blown.

"Ibig sabihin marami ring tao sa skating rink ngayon." nakasimangot na niyang sabi.

"Hindi po. Kasi sobrang lamig. Sinong matino ang pupunta doon ng ganito kalamig?" I sarcastically said. I thought she will get pissed by my words but instead she suddenly gave me a shock expression.

"Nag 'po' ka? Himala! Gumamit ka ng 'po'" natatawang sabi niya.

I just heaved a sigh. Hindi niya nalaman na punong-puno ng pagkasarkastiko lahat ng sinabi ko. After a while, we arrived in our destination. And just like what appa said, there are only few people inside the skating rink. There are no private skating rink here in Seoul. All of the skating rinks here are for publis uses. The three of us took skating shoes in the counter and put it on.

"Sa wakas masusubukan ko na ring mag-skating." masayang bulong ni ate.

"Let's go." our father said while smiling at us. My sister went inside the rink first. When I am the next one to enter, appa block my way and said something to me.

"Being silent and just observing you sister. Not bad." he said then entered first before me.

"Ayoko lang sirain ang kasiyahan ng kapatid ko." mahinang bulong ko sa sarili.

When I entered the rink, I saw my sister, together with appa, happily skating around the rink. Both of them wear a smile on their faces.

"Kendrick, punta ka dito!" ate shouted. I just obeyed and went to them.

"Ay wait, kuhanan ko kayo ng litrato." she said then bring her camera out of her sling bag.

"Ading, alas-kwatro okay. After 3." she whispered to me then went infront of us to take a picture.

I just gave her a confuse look. I saw her gave me a sign, that only the both of us know. That's when I understand what she had said.

"Okay. 1, 2, 3." she said.

After hearing the signal, I kick the knee of the person who is at the 4 o'clock. The guy fell and I saw a gun slide away from him.

"Ah! Gun!" I heard my sister shouted and pointed to the gun and then to the guy that fell in front of us. People inside the rink started to panick.

The guy tried to get up but I stopped him by stepping on his back. I heard him shout maybe because it hurts. That's when I realize that it really hurts since I am wearing skating shoes. Not long enough, two policemen went to our place and took the guy to their custody. They also took the gun not far away from the place where the guy fell.

Ng makaalis na ang mga pulis, narinig kong mahinang tumatawa ang ate ko. I approach her.

"How did you know that he has a gun?" I ask her while looking at her suspiciously. I didn't saw her looking somewhere or someone. So how did she knew that there will be a guy that will come near us and shoot someone from us?

"Hmm, instinct maybe." she answered me while giggling.

"Let's go home. Its not safe here anymore." appa said then drag ate to the car. His protective side is coming out. This is going to be fun.

"Sayang, hindi natin na-enjoy yung pagpunta natin doon. May epal kasi." sabi ni ate at tsaka sumimangot. I saw father look at her, or specifically at her facial expression.

"Do you want to eat?" he suddenly asked. I can't believe he will ask that question.

"Yes." ate said. I also answered 'yes' for my sister.

"What do you want to eat then?"

"I want something spicy." she said then beam a flashy smile.

"I know a place where we can eat that kind of food." appa said.

The car stopped in a small restaurant. Its small yet there are many people coming in and out of the restaurant. We went inside. A waiter greeted us and guide us to our table. Appa ordered foods for us, not bothering to ask us what we want.

"I want you two to try the foods they serve here." appa said then smile.

"Are the foods spicy?" ate asked appa.

"Some foods only, princess."

"Stop calling me princess, please. I am not a child anymore. And also, there is someone who is looking at us from the time we entered this restaurant." she said while whispering the last sentence.

"Where?" appa asked her.

"He is 5 tables away from us, wearing a red long sleeves and eyeglasses." she said then started playing her fingers.

"Oh, don't mind him. I know him." appa said.

"Okay, I thought he is someone that will do something bad on us just like the guy in the skating rink."

"Don't worry, appa will always be here beside you and protect you. I will not leave your side anymore." appa said and gave her a reassuring smile.

"Thank you very much." she said. That is the time when the food arrive and we happily eat the food.

"Sobrang anghang." I heard ate whispered while eating. I giggled and I saw her look at me.

"Bakit?" she asked me and stopped eating.

"Kakain-kain ka ng manghang hindi mo rin pala kaya." natatawang sabi ko.

"Ang sama mo. Look appa, Kendrick is bullying me." pagsusumbong ni ate kay appa.

I just heard appa giggled and looked at us while smiling.

"Kendrick, tinatawanan tayo ni appa. Nakakatawa ba tayo?"she said while giving me a funny look. I started to laugh because of her facial expression.

"Pati ba naman ikaw? Tinatawanan mo din ako? Ang sama mo." then her face turn into a sad one and her eyes started to glisten.

"Hey, don't you ever try to cry in front of us." I warned her.

But instead of hearing what I said, she started to shed a tear. I saw appa glare at me. I can feel my inside starts to panic.

"Hey, hush now. We are just joking around." I said while patting her shoulder. I am not use to this.

She hide her face in her hands and cry even more. But I didn't mind that because I saw her shoulder shaking as if she was silently laughing.

"Yah, are you making fun of me?" I asked her.

She remove her hands in her face and smiled widely at me.

"Peace." she said then continue eating.

"Tss." I also continue eating. She really is good in acting.

While eating, my mind wandered somewhere in the outer space making me think about my sister. She's acting weird making me think that she is planning something and started something fun. Ano pa man iyon, I will do my duty on her. And that is to teach and protect her no matter what happens.
