Dinners at Stark Tower were never quiet. It was always noisy.
Loki sat across from me during dinner as the both of us tried to ignore the rest of the Avengers. Natasha was on my right while Bucky was on my left.
"Hey, Maya!" Stark called from his seat at the end of the table.
"What, Stark?" I asked.
"When are you gonna be placed back on missions. It's been at least a month," he said.
"Soon." I raised my eyebrow at him. "Why?"
"Nothing. Just curious."
"Right."
Stark was never just curious but then again, I was more willing to trust Loki at this point than Stark and that's saying something.
"Maya," Captain Rogers said as he shoved the peas on his plate. "Is there anything you want to discuss with us?"
"No."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, Steve. I'm sure there is nothing to discuss."
All dinner table discussions then ceased. I looked up to see every Avenger except Loki looking at me.
"You just called me Steve."
"If memory serves me right that is your name, isn't it?" I asked taking a bite of my sandwich.
"No. Not that. You just called me by my first name." I really didn't see why this was such a big deal. "You usually call me Captain Rogers or Captain or Mr. Rogers."
I chewed and swallowed. This needed more mayonnaise.
"Yes, well," I looked over to Natasha who flashed me a knowing smile. "I'm trying to be.....nice."
"How come you still call Tony by his last name?" Wanda asked me.
I snorted. "I said I was trying to be nice, not a saint."
Stark sent me a glare from his end of the table which I ignored. I saw Loki smirking from my peripheral vision and kicked him underneath the table.
"You should call me Clint," Agent Barton said. "I feel old when you call me Agent Barton."
"Aren't you an old man?" Pietro asked showing out of nowhere. "I heard that you have children and wife, no? If what Wanda told me is right, you've named one after me."
"I can still kick you out of the tower," Agent Barton said. "Just because I can't summon thunder or have a metal suit or turn into a giant or have super strength, doesn't mean that I won't do it. I'm warning you, Maximoff."
Pietro flashed a smirk that wasn't as sinister as Loki's or mischievous as Starks, it was a what you may call a 'shit eating grin.'
"Catch me first, old man!"
He zoomed off leaving us behind.
"Brothers," Thor and Wanda sighed at the exact same time.
"You can say that again," I muttered underneath my breath.

After finishing my dinner, I went back to my room where I sat down at my desk and continued my search for Amid.
The flash drive was proving to be harder than I thought and way too much for me to handle so I turned it into SHIELD hoping that somebody could crack it open for me.
I knew when i had been defeated. Only this once would I let men with more knowledge take over.
With the flash drive being taken care of, that only let me with tracking all of Amid's purchases and trying to figure out what the hell those men in the bunker were under.
How did they turn normal men into savage zombies?
In this day and age, everything shouldn't be a surprise and yet here we were. The result had come back. The disease was inconclusive. Nobody had seen anything like it for years.
I hated going so slow. It's been nearly a year since I've started and well.....not much progress is being made.
My fighting skills were better. I could hold my own against Nat.
Yeah. That's about it
I leaned back in my chair, stretching my arms above my hair as I yawned.
The clock read midnight, meaning that I had to go to sleep so that I could go to my therapy session tomorrow with Dr. Franz. I would be no good if I fell asleep during the session.
I dragged myself away from my computer and curled up in bed.
Right now, I just wanted to sleep peacefully.

Shady bars weren't Tony's favorite place to be but it was the best place to find information.
Tony Stark was a man who didn't like investing too much work into something he didn't have to do and preferred the easy way by hiring someone to do it.
However with the newest recruit being a pain in his iron behind, he had to use the hardest way possible. Which meant him sitting in some diner waiting for someone who had some much needed facts about Maya I-Have-No-Last-Name.
The things he did to prove others wrong.
"Are you---?"
"Yeah. Yeah. Just sit down," he waved impatiently.
His 'contact' was dressed in a nice coat that probably cost as much as this entire diner. He wore a button down shirt and some slacks that screamed rich kid. Why would a guy like that know a girl like Maya. It just didn't make sense so that's why Tony had his eyes set on this kid who looked around the diner nervously. Dark blonde hair and watery green eyes with a pale complexion. This man looked way to young to even be here.
'Is this guy even legal?'
Tony didn't even want to know.
"You want anything? These guys make a mean shake," he offered.
"No but thank you, Mr. Stark."
"Okay then," Tony shrugged. "Let's get to the point. Tell me everything you know, pal."
The man looked around the diner once, clearly looking for something--or someone. He then leaned in close, lowering his voice just enough so that Tony could hear him.
"Look, I hired a guy," he said. "I was in a mission in Madrid about six years ago. It was simple guard job, nothing much."
"Cut to the point," Stark said.
"Right. So I go over to Madrid because I get a call from my head of staff. Of course I thought that it was just a money issues. Good god, I was totally wrong. Ever heard the name Rose Red?"
Tony wasn't expecting to hear that. He didn't want to hear that. He wanted to hear about what she had done and why SHIELD had her put away.
"That's an odd code name," Tony snorted. "Was Snow White taken or something?"
"That's what I thought too until I saw the bodies that she left behind. There's only some things you can only drink to forget, Mr. Stark."
"That many bodies, huh?"
"Too many bodies and a diamond gone. No security footage, it was all wiped. Also, there wasn't a trace of her or what she did to my men," Brett said. "I decided to dig into this because it was bad for business. It was then that I heard about them. Have you ever heard about the Anwar Clan, Mr. Stark?"
"Not really. No."
"Then consider yourself blessed. Anyway, these men are dangerous."
"And is this Rose Red is related to them?"
"I don't know for sure but I can tell you that she got mixed up with them. She did something really bad though and I don't mean petty crime bad, she did something terrible that put her in a cell."
"You know I'd appreciate it if your weren't so vague."
He prattled on, ignoring Tony.
"I've never really seen this Rose Red, only what she's left behind. She's not the only one though. There are two others. One guy who calls himself the Prince and another women that calls herself Snow White."
"Fairy tale fetish much," Tony scoffed.
"The man who's the head of it all is known as the King and he's responsible for several known terror attacks all over the world. This guy is way more dangerous."
With shakey hands, he passed a file that he fished from his jacket over to Tony.
"Aren't they all?" He rolled his eyes, opening his files. His eyes scanned through the information until he found a picture of Maya.
Her hair was much longer, reaching past her shoulders. It was a much younger version of her. Next to her were two figures, one of them clearly a female.
Maya still had that dangerous look in her eyes.
Once upon time she might have been a good person but from what he was seeing, she's wasn't so good.
He didn't want a traitor on the team.
"That's it? You've got nothing else for me?"
"What else do you want to hear?!" The man raised his voice getting odd stares from the other patrons. He glared at them and lowered his voice. "The Anwar Clan and Rose Red are ghosts. Completely untraceable. More powerful men than me have tried and failed."
"Great," Tony poured himself a drink. "Every person I've met today has told me that."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark," he said unapologetically. "But there is something you should know."
"I'm listening."
Tony watched as the not so young man debated if he wanted to sell his soul or not. Personally, Tony wanted him to.
"While that whole HYDRA fiasco in SHIELD was happening, I got a buddy who got a whif of information on where she was located. The rest was totally blacked out. The only guy who even had those files is the Director himself of this organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. It has everything about her on there."
The agent took a sip of his water with trembling hands. He really hoped that nobody would find out about this but hey, money was money and he needed some.
Drugs ain't cheap and his business wasn't doing so well at the moment.
"Maybe you're aren't so useless, after all. I'll have my people talk to yours people, Brad."
"It's Brett."
"Sure, Bryan."
He waved the bartender over, signaling for two shots.
"Do you know how she killed her victims?"
"No."
"Do you have a last name?"
"No."
"Do you know where I could start?"
"It was pretty hard to trace but I had a guy down in Mexico who found this." Brett fished out an envelope from his jacket. "There's only person that related to her. If you want answers. I'd suggest you start here."
"And how do I know that this isn't a trap?" Tony downed his shot quickly.
"Why would I want you? You're giving me money," he took his shot, hands trembling. "Besides, I don't want to be anywhere near this bitch. You can only stare death in the face once."
