As the party continued I stood with my father and Lily. Now I was annoyed, this always happened and it was bugging the shit out of me.

"Is everything alright, Rose?" Lily questioned

"Peachy. Dad why do you treat Chuck differently from me?" And there it was I couldn't leave well enough alone.

"Pardon?"

"Chuck has a talent, one I which I know  you're not fond of but he knows his stuff. The speak easy." he sighs

"Can we not do this here?"

"I'm not causing a scene I'm having a conversation, block me and I will have the biggest tantrum you will be begging on your knees for me to stop." I smile. Bass men may be strong but they have nothing on me. I've had plenty of practice,

"Fine." he agreed backing down. "Your brother needs to grow up, bars, womanising are not something to be proud of. One day he will take over and I want to be sure he's ready."

"Yet when he tries to show you, you think he's being childish? Chuck is many things I should know since out of the two of us I've spent more time with him. He tries to make you proud, but you either block him or scare him off. He actually explained to me that your little conversation before the summer trip freaked him out. Let him go at his own pace, the more you push the more he goes back instead of forward." I stood up for that idiot. I couldn't help it, he was my twin.

"Rosalie"

"You know it actually does affect him that despite the mistakes I make, in your eyes I can do no wrong."

"You admit your mistakes, you own up to them and you change for the better. Look at you, you have a job you work hard at school and a direction."

"I love you Dad. I do but you need to work on how to raise a son." The two looked away and I saw some reporters talking with Serena and Eric. Lily left to go over. We followed

"Excuse me. I just need to borrow Serena."

"You said we were a close knit family?" Uh-oh Serena's gonna blow.

"I'll bring her right back. And I'll tell you all about the wonderful time we had in Mystique. It was such fun."

"Don't you mean you and Constantine or did you forget the same way you forgot to say goodbye to me and Eric every time you left." She retorted

"Serena don't do this, if you have issues with Bart, fine but don't sabotage this." Lily tried to reason with her daughter. But Serena being a bitch wasn't having it.

"What I'm not doing anything. We were just sharing memories of what a close family we are. I remember this one time when we were 11. Eric and I wanted a white christmas. Luckily, Mom's husband was a raging coke head, so he left blow everywhere" I smirked. I honestly wanted to judge but I couldn't we didn't have the easiest of parents. We had to be tough kids, sometimes though that wasn't always easy

"It wasn't everywhere. Just on the shiny surfaces." Eric added

"Was that German Klaus with a K or Danish Claus with a C. I can't ever remember which one she actually married or which she just decided was more important that her children. You know I was wrong. it's not Bart at all. It's you." Serena left and the party was in shock.

"Well that was certainly entertaining." Chuck whispered in my ear.

"This isn't that funny." I pulled him aside "Our parents may not be that great and to be fair I would have probably done the same thing. But we owe Lily for at least making him a better man than he was, so we're going to fix this."

"And how do you suggest we do that?" he wondered curiously

"You do still remember how to play the piano right?"

"I do, your request?"  I nod, we went  over to the piano and I whisper in his ear and pull away He raises an eye brow but begins to play and I start to sing

People stopped talking and turned their attention to me

I glanced at my father who held onto Lily, she rested her head on his shoulder. I noticed that Vanessa was here and she had her phone out.

during the song I started to think of Dan how I wish it could be simples as the movies but it wasn't.

When the song finished I opened my eyes, there was a round of applause. I smiled slightly and bowed.

-3rd Person-

Serena wasted outside Nate's places after what happened. Dan was walking to the same place when he spotted Serena and tried to leave but she spotted him.

"Dan, is that you?" He turned back

"Are you talking to me?" he questioned

"You're the only person here." She replied leaning on her hands on the porch of the closed Archibald residence.

"Right, but that's never stopped you before." he sassed,he internally smiled, being around Rosie had made him more confident to sass people

"I deserve that."

"I haven't started."

"Fine. Sit. Pile it on. My night couldn't get any worse." Serena sighed and he thought about it, then sat down.

"So, what are you doing at Nate's anyway?" Serena wondered

"Well, Nate and I are friends. At least I hope we are. What about you?" he questioned

"I just had to get out of my house, talk to someone. Blair is busy, Chuck is Chuck. Rosie I don't even know where we stand right now. The only person I really want to talk to I can't anymore. So I came here." she told him

"Pretend I'm Nate." he replied

"What?"

"Pretend I'm...Well, look  he pretended to be me so it's only fair." he shrugged

"Really?" he nodded

"Well, my mom hosted this big party. It was supposed to be about our new family but of course it was for publicity. So blew up at her in front of everyone. This whole time I was thinking that Bart was the problem but i realise it's all her." she explained

"You ever actually think your mom acts like she's perfect because she to ashamed to acknowledged how far from it she's really been." Dan suggested to her

"I thought you were pretending to be Nate?" Serena joked "Kidding. I'm sorry."

"You don't think I'm right."

"No, I mean, I'm sorry about everything." she apologised

"Me too." A limo pulled up and Serena groaned

"Ugh, they must have chipped me in my sleep." Bart got out

"Hey, Mr Bass." he nodded to him

"Hello, Daniel. I'd like to take you home Serena." she slipped his hands into his pockets.

"I should probably go. Test out some of those theories of yours see if they hold up. I'm really glad your Nate's friend, he really needs someone like you right now." she stood and slipped into the limo Bart followed.
