When they reached the Gryffindor common room, Ron and Rose flopped down in front of the fireplace.
"Those dragons were cool," said Rose. "I've never seen one in real life before, only in pictures."
"Yeah, I guess," said Ron. "They're my brother's thing."
Rose could see that Ron was still embarrassed about what his brother had said earlier. She decided to change the subject. "So why do you think they have the dragons in the forest?" she asked.
"I don't know, probably something to do with the tournament," said Ron.
"Yeah, I guess it would mean the first task involves dragons," said Rose.
"Well they did tell us that the Triwizard Tournament was dangerous," said Ron. "Now we know why they banned anyone under seventeen from entering."
"Do you think they know that's what they have to deal with?" said Rose.
"Well, no. They were keeping it secret," said Ron. "We should probably warn Cedric though. Just so he doesn't get hurt."
"Yeah, good point," said Rose. "Let's go and find him."
Ron and Rose left their common room and went looking for Cedric. They headed to the Great Hall first, but he was not there. Rose walked over to the Hufflepuff table where a group of boys were sitting.
"Hey. We're looking for Cedric, do you know where he is?" said Rose.
"I saw him outside in the courtyard," said one of the boys.
"Okay, thanks," said Rose.
Then Rose and Ron walked outside to the courtyard. There were a lot of children moving around and chatting outside. They quickly scanned through the crowds until Ron spotted Cedric.
"There he is," he said.
Ron then walked over to where Cedric was standing. "Hey, Cedric. Can we talk to you about something?" he said.
"Hi, err... Weasley," said Cedric. "What's up?"
"It's about the Triwizard Tournament. We saw something that we think you should know," said Ron. "The first task involves dragons."
Cedric looked thoughtful for a moment. "Dragons, hmmmm," he said. "Well thanks for letting me know, umm, dude."
"That's okay," said Ron.
Cedric went back to his friends, though his thoughts were now filled with worries about dragons. Ron went back to Rose, and they went back inside the castle.
"So what are we going to do now?" said Rose. "There's still another hour until lunch."
"Dunno, could go and see what Hermione is doing?" said Ron.
"Okay," said Rose. "But I'll just pop to the toilet first."
"Alright then, I'll go ahead and wait for you in the library," said Ron.
Ron carried on along the corridor to the library, while Rose turned off and walked towards the girls toilets. She went inside, then went into one of the cubicles and sat down.
When Rose had finished peeing, she stepped back out of the cubicle to go wash her hands. As she did, she spotted that Fleur was standing at the sinks. Rose stopped and froze awkwardly. She felt her face start to blush.
Fleur was in the Triwizard Tournament too, so she would be facing the dragons as well. It would be dangerous, and Rose didn't want anything bad to happen to her. She thought that she should warn her of the danger too.
Rose stepped forward towards Fleur. As she got closer, Rose's heart started thumping in her chest. She got close enough to smell Fleur's perfume. It was getting harder for Rose to breath as she was so nervous.
"Hi," said Rose.
Fleur turned around and smiled. "Hello," she said.
"Your name is Fleur," said Rose. "That means flower in English."
"Yes, that is correct," said Fleur, patiently.
Rose gulped nervously. "My name's Rose," she said. "So, umm, I'm a flower too."
Rose wanted to die of embarrassment.
Fleur laughed happily. "Ah yes, this is true," she said. "We are both flowers."
"I, umm, wanted to warn you about something," said Rose. "It's the first task, there's going to be dragons."
The smile dropped from Fleur's face. "Dragons. That does not sound good," she said.
"No. That's, umm, why I thought I should warn you," said Rose.
"Well thank you for telling me, my little flower," said Fleur.
Fleur stepped forward to give Rose a hug to thank her. Rose's body froze when she felt Fleur's arms wrapped around her. Her face went red and she couldn't breathe.
After what felt like hours, Fleur took her arms away and stepped back from Rose.
"I should go now," said Fleur. "I need to see what I can learn about dragons."
Rose struggled to make any words. "Okay," she managed.
Fleur turned and walked out from the girls toilets. Rose staggered backwards into one of the cubicles and sat down on the toilet lid. She took some deep breaths and tried to calm herself down.
Eventually, when Rose felt like her legs would work, she stood up and left the toilets. She made her way through the corridors and into the library.
Ron and Hermione were sat at one of the tables, when Rose came over to join them. Hermione put down the book she was reading and looked up at Rose.
"Are you okay?" Hermione asked. "Your face looks a bit flushed."
That just made Rose blush again. "I'm fine," she said.
"You don't look fine," said Hermione. "You look like you are sick."
"No, it's nothing," said Rose.
"Ron, I think you should take Rose to the hospital wing," said Hermione.
"No, please. I'm fine," said Rose. "I just, umm, bumped into someone in the toilets. It was embarrassing is all."
"Okay, well if you are sure?" said Hermione.
"Yes, you don't need to keep worrying about me," said Rose.
"Okay, okay, I'll change the subject," said Hermione. "Have you both finished writing your essays for Snape?"
Rose and Ron looked at each other blankly.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "It is due on Monday," she said.
"Ooohhh, yeah. That essay," said Ron. "I haven't started it yet."
Hermione shook her head with mock disappointment. "It's a good job I'm here to look after you two," she said.
"Yeah, thanks Hermione," said Rose.
Hermione reached into her bag and pulled out a parchment with her notes written on it. "Here, use these," she said.
Then Rose took the notes from Hermione, and her and Ron got to work on their homework.
