Red Rose
Rose Darling, why were you so red? Now, here's a rose color that I actually knew existed. I gave one to you on our first date, do you remember? My mother had been growing them, and a secret you never knew was that after I gave you that rose I realized my mother would kill me if she found out. Turns out, she noticed. She had been peaking through the window curtains and saw me give it to you and she teared up when I came back home later that night because she knew that I had fallen in love. I don't know how, I guess you can call it mother's intuition, or maybe she knew that a red rose signified love, but she was one-hundred percent correct to believe that I had already fallen in love. I had fallen truly, madly, deeply in love with you and I didn't know why or how it had happened so fast, but even to this day I still am. I knew you loved me too, and that kept my heart beating and it kept my blood flowing because I knew that no matter what, I always had someone who loved me unconditionally. And you were right to say that you could tell I loved you because I always said it and I always meant it. It was never a lie. Never. I never would've stopped loving you, and even now that you've gone to heaven, I won't stop loving you. Here's your red rose.
