"Lucas don't make a sound. Be strong." , I whispered to the little boy crying in my arms. He bit on his lip to keep from screaming. He shook harder as we listened to the thing tearing the house apart as it searched for us.

The boy let out a strangled cry as the thing turned enough so we could see its face. It was too late, I couldn't cover his mouth in time.

"Its mommy." , the boy sobbed. The creature turned around and faced the closet we were hiding in.
