Secrets and Scar
"Miss Turner," My science teacher calls.
"Um, yes, Mr. Heaton?" I raise a little in my desk, hoping he hasn't called for me to answer a question.
"The principal told me to have you get your stuff together." Mr. Heaton explains.
A few 'ohs' come from the back, as I get up.
"Why?" I question, pulling my bag up.
"Scarlett." He sighs.
I was out the door quicker than the Flash.

Reaching the doors, I push through them, and run to the middle school-that is adjacent to the high school.
I pass Todd Blake and his daughter Vikki in the hall. Vikki is crying like crazy, and her father looks ready to kill.
Oh gosh.
"Rose!" Scarlett shouts as I enter the office.
"Hey, baby, you okay?" I squat in front of her, examining the rather large gash on her knee.
"Better now." Scarlett throws her arms around me, crying softly.
"It's okay, I know." I hug her tightly.
"Miss Turner," Mrs. Highlander's voice rings through the small area, making me jump.
She was the nicest principal in the world, I know for a fact, but still she could get scary.
"Yes?" I turn slightly to face the older lady, still keeping the small blonde close.
"This is the third time within four months that this has happened." Mrs. Highlander states.
"I know, but-"
The grey haired lady holding up a finger shushing me. "Let me finish before you start making excuses for her. Vikki Blake has been suspended for two weeks. If this continues she will be expelled." She finishes.
"Really?" Scarlett looks at her supervisor in awe.
"Yes, Scarlett," Mrs. Highlander ruffles her hair. "She can't hurt you for awhile." She goes to her desk and grabs something. "Now I think it'd be appropriate to allow you to leave early." Mrs. Hughlander turns back to us. "That is if your sister doesn't mind leaving with you?"
Scarlett looks up at me. "Do you, Ro?"
"Of course, I don't mind." I say, standing up. "Thank you,"
"You are quite welcome. I seem to remember another little girl who had trouble at this age with a Blake." She says, smiling. "Now go on."
****
"Where do you want to go?" I ask the smaller blonde.
"Home." Scarlett sighs. "I just want to watch TV and forget about all this crap."
"You wanna watch Clueless?" I suggest as we near home.
Scar immediately brightens at the mention of her favorite movie. "Can we?"
"Of course," I say. "Who do you think taught you to love that movie." I laugh.
She hugs me excitedly, forgetting all about Vikki. "What did you and Nana watch when you used to get sent home for Kelly?"
I think about it a second. "We'd either watch Heathers or Mean Girls." I answer.
Scar scrunches her nose in thought. "What's Heathers?" She asks, causing me to laugh.
"Don't worry about it, kid." I laugh.
"Seriously what is it?" Scar asks again.
"When you get older we'll watch it, okay? It's just a movie about the mean people getting what was coming to them." I state.
"But you were my age, weren't you?" She inquires, beginning to walk again. One thing about my eleven year old little sister was she loves to ask questions.
Before I can respond a red convertible pulls up to the sidewalk.
"Hey, Amber." A guy about a year or so older than me gets out of the car and runs over.
"Hi?" I protectively wrap an arm around Scar.
"You curled your hair." He declares. "I like it."
"Thanks,"-I glance at his letterman jacket reading his name-"Ethan, I'm glad you like it." I decide to play along.
"Trying something new for the party tonight?" He questions, touching my hair.
"Party?" Scarlett echoes.
"You haven't forgot have you? We talked about it just last night." Aiden sounds suddenly worried.
"Oh! No I haven't forgotten." I rush out.
"Good." He smiles uncomfortably at me. "I'll see you at eight, babe." He leans forward quickly and kisses me on the cheek.
He then gets in his car and drives away.
"What in the heck was that!" Scarlett exclaims.
"That was us finding out Amber's dirty little secret." I reply with a smile.
Oh AJ tonight is going to be something else entirely.
"Let's go we've spent enough time outside." Scar tugs on my hand, leading me across the crosswalk.
Double update!
This was orginally part of the last chapter, but it would have been almost 2,000 words if I'd left it together. Bye - Izzy
