Family Time

"Wassup, my people." Johnny's voice rang happily through the parking lot.
We all turn to see him making his way toward us.
"Johnny!" I squeal, attacking him in a hug.
"Good to see ya again, buddy." Phillip pulls him into a hug as soon as we part.
"You too."
"Nice, to finally see you out from behind bars." Kai jokes as they do some kind of guy hug.
"Same, Mister." John laughs, detaching himself from Kai and wrapping an arm around my shoulder.
"Like the shorter hair." He whispers in my ear.
I smile in response.
"Where's Dylan?" John asks as an afterthought.
"Steve's football practice." I scoff. "I almost regret recording that video."
Phillip laughs. "But like that went viral and it was the best thing to ever happen to Kelly." He says. "Plus now everyone knows she's a skank." He adds, causing us all to laugh.
My phone dings and I jump in excitement. "Listen, I love all of you, but Papa just got here and he didn't come alone. I gotta go." With that I race home.

Bursting into the house, I find Grandma and Papa talking. It makes me so happy.
As much as I love Gramps ever since writing the books, I've rooted for them. I actually got mad while writing that she chose Phillip. I know that's silmy, like I wouldn't be here if it had been the other way around.
"Hello, Rosie." Papa turns toward me with a smile.
"Papa!" I jump into his arms.
"How's my Rose?" He asks.
"Good." I answer, letting go of him.
I open my mouth to say something but before I can someone cuts me off. "But Rafe didn't come alone."
Smiling insanely, I turn around to find Aunt Dee. "Deanna!"
She pulls me into a bear hug. "Hiya, Ro-Ro." She kisses my forehead. "It's good to see ya."
"You too, Aunt Dee." I hug her tightly.
"Did someone start the party without me?" A new voice joins the mix.
Aunt Janna stands in the doorway with Scarlett next to her.
"Janna?" I ask surprised. She hardly ever comes around.
"Hey, Babe." The wildly curly redhead side hugs me. "What you say?"
My family in one place. Only a couple were missing....
"Uncle Connor and Aunt Nancy are going to be here later tonight." Scarlett tells me happily, hugging tightly onto Papa.
She loved him so much it wasn't even funny.
I left them in the kitchen and went to my room.
I lie down on my bed, shutting my eyes.
"Hey, Ro, I need to tell you something." Janna says sitting next to me.
"Okay?" I sit up a little.
"I'm-" Jan pauses. "I'm going to have a baby!"
I completely sit up, jumping onto my knees. "Oh my gosh! Are you for real right now?" I practically scream.
Jan nods. "Found out last night. Thought you'd like to be the first to know." She assures.
"Jan, that's great. Does Grandma know yet?" I ask.
"Nope, but Mom is going to freak when I tell her." Janna pats my knee. "I'll let you get back to your nap." She gets up and leaves.

Papa sits in the living room playing checkers with Scar while Deanna watches.
"I win!" Scarlett yells as Deanna cheers for her.
The blonde high fives her before sticking her tongue out at Papa.
A smile forming on my face as I watch her.
Suddenly Scar stops. "Whatcha doin', Mama?" She asks.
"Nothing much, Scar." I join them on the couch. "Having fun?"
"Lots." She beams. "Deanna is suppose to play me next, but I want you to do it for me, Mom."
"I think I can do that." I nod, setting the game up. "Let's go, Aunt Dee."
"Is that a challenge?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.
"You bet." I nod.

We end up playing four games in a row. By the time one of us finally finishes the last game (which I won), Scarlett is asleep with her head in my lap, and Papa has gone to talk with the others.
"Hey, Ro?" Deanna says causing me to look up.
"Yeah?"
Deanna glances at the blonde on my lap before continuing. "I couldn't help but notice she called you mom earlier." She says. "Does that bother you at all?"
I shake my head. "Scar doesn't remember Noah at all. I mean she was only one. But she remembers me being there a lot so she just calls me mom anyway." I sigh. "It's fine with me though."
"You're a good kid, you know that?" Dee hugs me from the side, and strokes Scarlett's hair back.
I want to correct her, tell her the things I've done in the past two months. Tell her how I filmed of my twin's best friend in the back seat of some guys car and gave it to Lip to leak. Ruining her relationship with a guy she didn't deserve.
Tell her about knowing my sister is doing drugs and dating a Junior and I haven't told, but instead I just say yeah.
"We're here!" Two voices ring through the house as the front door slams, causing the youngest to wake up with a start.
"Sh, go back to sleep." I calm her.
"I'll stay with her. You go see who's here." Papa takes my place on the couch, holding Scar.
I nod and together Deanna and I make our way to the hall.
Aunt Nancy and Uncle Connor stand side by side.
I smile brightly at the sight of them.
Uncle Connor was practically destroyed when my mother died for they were twins. But he eventually got better. He was the "cool uncle" who never got married
Nancy never got married either. They live in an aparment, and Connor helps her raise her six year old daughter Noah. Nancy really never changes. She looks like she did as a kid.
"Rose?" Connor inquires. "You look so big!" He pulls me into a quick hug.
"And look at her hair." Nancy states, as Noah-who's on her hip claps. "I love it." She hugs me afterwards.
"Hey, guys." I say. "Hi, Noah."
Noah reaches out for me so I take her from Nanc. "How are you, little one?" I ask, tickling her.
"Good." She giggles.
Noah is the spitting image of Nancy as a child. Which means she's an adorable little girl.
She leans her head tiredly on me.
"Sorry, she hasn't had a nap today." Nancy apologises.
"It's fine." I bounce the child lightly. "I don't mind.
