Y/N POV

I was on the bus headed to Yokai Academy. Since I knew the secret of the school as I was going to fit in just fine with my soul being bound to a War Goddess' own soul since birth, I decided to amuse myself and the driver by bantering with him.

Nurari: Heh. You're fucking crazy, kid. Eagerly going to a school of monsters? Only mad men would agree to that. Then again, you have a war goddess so you're more than just crazy.

Y/N: *Scoffs* I'm crazy? Have you been ignoring that you're a horrible bus driver?

Nurari scoffed with amusement and immediately hit the brakes and started drifting the fucking bus into oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding crashing into other cars. The entire time we kept insulting each other. Eventually the fun had to come to an end as we passed through the tunnel that would lead to Yokai Academy. After that, we switched to a more serious approach to our conversation. He began to explain figures I should do my best to avoid for the time being until I've been accepted by the majority of the school. I heeded his warnings and asked if my homeroom teacher, Shizuka Nekonome, had been informed about the situation which he confirmed she had been. With that, we continued on with idle chat until we arrived. I then got off.

Nurari: Look out for crazy bus drivers.

Y/N: Look out for unhinged Americans with trench sweepers.

With that, I began walking toward the school as Jacklyn finally appeared.

Jacklyn: Finally alone~.

Y/N: You look hot in that kimono~.

Jacklyn: Why thank you~. I figured you'd like it~. Now~, it's best we start walking so you're not late.

Y/N: Fair enough. *Begins walking* So you're able to tell what monsters I encounter are, right?

Jacklyn: Yep~. I'm sure it'll be beneficial for you.

Y/N: More than beneficial. I'm sure you know the strengths and weaknesses of all Yokai?

Jacklyn: It comes naturally being a War deity. *Levitates and hugs him from behind* I'm sure you know why~...

Y/N: *Chuckles* Sun Tzu once said, "If you know yourself and know the enemy, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither yourself nor the enemy, you will succumb in every battle." There's a reason why the gods and goddesses of war named their greatest creation after him.

Jacklyn: That's right~. I'm sure we're going to have fun here~.

Y/N: I certainly hope so. Human school was always so damn boring.

As we continued talking, we noticed a bat was following us. I waved to it before continuing on with my conversation with Jacklyn but just a few seconds later, the bell of a bicycle began to echo loudly and frantically.

Y/N: That doesn't sound good. Jacklyn-

Jacklyn: *GIF below* Good luck. The less people who know about our pact, the better.

Y/N: Wait! Jacklyn! Tell me where it's coming from!

Jacklyn: 6:00, less than half a mike away.

Y/N: You bit-

Before I could finish my two word sentence, I felt the bicycle crash into my back, causing me to fall to the ground but I quickly braced myself. After recovering from the sudden impact, I let out a groan and began to help myself back up but I felt my hand on something that was definitely not dirt. I immediately removed my hand once I saw I was holding onto a girl's thigh.

Y/N: Oh! I apologize! I didn't mean to grab your thigh. Are you okay?

???: Mmmm... it's fine. I'm sorry, I'm anemic... I get a little dizzy sometimes...

Y/N: (Wow! Not gonna lie, She's beautiful and cute.) Well I'm glad you're okay. *Goes to stand up and give her his hand* Here let me help you u-oh. *Notices his hand's bleeding* Mmm... *Puts down his bag* That's not good. One moment please.

???: Oh no! You're bleeding! I'm sorry!

Y/N: Don't worry about it. I know how to handle this. Good thing, I usually carry a small med kit on me. *chuckles* Something my mother constantly advised me to do. Not surprising since she's a nurse though.

I immediately dug through my bag to discreetly grab a small med kit from the emporium. Once I had it, I pulled it out a small piece of cloth and then grabbed some gauze and tightened it around the cloth, ensuring it would stay on. Afterwards, I put the kit into my bag without sending it back to the emporium since I might need it later on.

Y/N: There we go. See, no need to worry about...*notices ??? Shuffling nervously* you okay?

Jacklyn: {Y/N, she's a vampire.}

Before I could process what Jacklyn said, the girl apologized, confirming that she was a vampire as Jacklyn said. She then sunk her fangs into my neck. I tensed up for a brief moment but realized that it didn't really hurt all that much, so I relaxed as much as I could. As the girl drank my blood, Jacklyn questioned my decision on this but I told her that I didn't perceive the vampire girl as a threat just yet. Once the girl stopped, she removed her fangs and began to apologize profusely for her actions.

Y/N: Hey, it's okay. Mind if I ask you your name?

???: Ah? Oh! My name is Moka Akashiya.

Y/N: You have a nice name. Sounds elegant and cute.

Moka: *Blushes* T-Thank you!

Y/N: *smiles as he nods his head* I'm Y/N Murphy. Nice to meet ya.

Moka: Y/N Murphy? It doesn't sound like a local name.

Y/N: *Laughs* It's not. My family and I moved from the state of Missouri to Japan.

Moka: Oh! So you're from America?

Y/N: Yep~. Anyways. *Offers his hand again, which Moka takes and he helps her back to her feet* We should probably get going before we're late for the commencement ceremony. *Grabs her bike* Would You me to hold this for you?

Moka: O-Oh! S-Sure, thank you.

Y/N: *Nods his head* No problem.

As we began walking and making idle chat, Moka suddenly asked me a question.

Moka: Hey, Y-Y/N?

Y/N: Yes?

Moka: Do you like vampires?

Y/N: Do I like vampires? *A little flirty* Depends on the vampire, but if they're like you, I would love nothing more than to spend more time with them~.

That made Moka really happy and we both decided we'd talk more after the commencement ceremony.
