Please introduce yourself.

I'm Alex, aka MiniMoxx! I'm a writer from the UK, and I've been writing for 20+ years. I have a degree in Creative Writing, and I'm traditionally published!

When did you join Wattpad and why?

I joined WP in 2012 after old site run by Harpercollins, Inkpop, closed down. I took a long break for life stuff (degree, getting married etc but came back in 2019! I like the way the community is here with giving feedback and making writing friends!

What inspired you to start writing?

My grandparents did! My grandpa loved telling stories from his military days, and my grandma loved writing short stories. They were really really close to me growing up so I think I got it from them!

Tell me about your story that won in the Rose Gold Awards.

Fragmented Lies won in the mystery genre and was overall winner. It's a mystery/ romance book about a girl whose childhood sweetheart was murdered by a friend, and five years after, not all is as it seems when she starts receiving strange messages.

How did you come up with the story idea?

So I LOVE mystery/crime dramas, and l'm a romance writer. I've wanted to write one mixed for ages, and this idea just popped into my head when thinking about how I could do a mix. Winter and her story just jumped onto my idea page and I HAD to start writing. The twist in chapter 3 was where I'd planned and needed to write it down. I kind of came up with the rest as I wrote it lol.

How long have you been writing it?

I drafted the first draft in around 4 months, which is a long time for me! :P I was writing another book at the same time.

Who is your favorite character in your story and why?

My favourite [Spoiler alert] has GOT to be Cal. He's such an idiot, an immature idiot who doesnt get it, ever. But as the story goes on he FINALLY FINALLY learns and does his best. Creating him and his story was just so much fun.

What is your favorite chapter/scene and why?

I think my favourite chapter(s) are 42 and 43, because the pure humanity between the two of them are alight in the whole scene. In the first draft, the 2 chapters were 1, and it was a much shorter scene, but I lengthened it in future drafts because the whole story just to me, comes together here and the emotions all finally come out. I'm really proud of it.

LOL. I would also say chapter 3 for the major main twist XD

What do you love about your story? What makes it unique and interesting?

I think my favourite thing about the story is the characters. The 2 of them just grow and mature so much, and despite being in this weird and extraordinary situation of his own doing, they really just grow and find each other again. They really are 2 of my favourite characters ever. They go from pure immature selfish idiots to maturing adults <3

What do you plan to do with your story in the future? Will you try to get it published, or just keep it on Wattpad?

Right now it's on Wattpad, but I do plan on publishing - or querying it - in the future. I have a publisher for another story right now and they might like it! Fingers crossed!

Have you made any other accomplishments with your story? If so, what are they?

I do! It won "All's Fair in Love" contest by the Ambassadors this year! It's also been featured quite a lot by Ambassador profiles <3

Are you writing or planning to write any other stories? If so, tell me a bit about those.

I am, I'm ALWAYS writing lol. Right now, I'm writing One More Fight, which is a suspense/romance/mystery genre bend title.

It's a forced proximity, second chance romance trope and while it took me a while to get into with writing, l'm now (time of writing) on chapter 16 and LOVING IT. I also have a romcom planned next, called Royally Bumped. I'm also really hard at editing. I've just got a publishing deal for one of my books, ironically A Fighting Chance which won best sex scene in this award, so I'm hard at editing that too! I'm super busy right now Imao.
