When we got home, Natalie went straight to her room. I was going to but needed to speak to mum first.
"Mum, honestly did you know Nat's mum was going to be there?"
She didn't reply,
"Mother?"
"Fine, yes I did," I couldn't believe this.
"Why!?! You knew how she feels towards her!" I was livid. Absolutely livid.
"She said she wanted to build a better relationship with you both!"
"Well she had that chance and she blew it! Especially with Nat!" As I stormed out the room, I glanced at her, her mascara running down her face.

I ran upstairs and peered into my sister's room: she was already asleep. If I'm honest, I don't know how she'll react in the morning.

I walked to my room, raged with anger, and flopped on the bed. I couldn't stop asking questions: why would mum arrange something that would hurt Natalie? What will Nat think? Is she going to move out? Gosh, I hope not. I just laid there and waited for the exhaustion to take over me.

T I M E S K I P

I awoke around 5:30 to shouting and could distinctively make out Natalie's voice, I couldn't quite hear the other voice but I presumed she was arguing with Mum. Natalie had obviously dominated the dispute, shouting mixed with the occasional sob.

This went on for around 7 or 8 more minutes until a door slammed. Curiously, I went downstairs, I wasn't going to shout at Mum, but I was going to make sure she knew how I felt. 

To my immense surprise, I found Natalie crying, leaning against mum. Who on earth was that argument with? I watched from behind the bannister on the stairs, to see how this played out.

"I'm so sorry Nat, she just asked me to - as a surprise!"

"It's not your fault Aims, She gets what she wants and won't take no for an answer," Nat sniffed. 

"You want a cup of tea?"

"Umm, yes please," Mum got up and left.

This seemed to be going well, so I went down. 

"Natalie," I went in and hugged her. "Why didn't you come and get me?"

"Because, It's half five in the morning and I was going to tell you later,"

"I don't doubt that for a second, but anything that makes you this upset is worth waking up early for, if you need help, I want to help you," I released her from the embrace.

"Thank you..."
