Like I'm Going To Lose You by Megan Trainor
***

The rain continued to fall. Each drop continued to soak me to the bone. I shivered involuntarily and wrapped my arms tighter around my body. The ground was hard, I couldn't feel my bottom because of it, and I had absolutely no idea where I was.

Great. How awesome was this? I had no extra clothes, no food, no money, and absolutely no shelter.

As I studied the wet sidewalk, my thoughts drifted to the past.

"Out! Get out and never come back!" I knew I must obey or I would probably be killed. And by my own father. But my mind hinged on the words: never come back.

"W-what do y-you mean? N-never come back?" I carefully took a step back from my angered father.

He stomped towards me and harshly grabbed my ear. "You have disgraced me for the last time!" I whimpered in pain as he dragged me from the training room to the porch. "I am sick and tired of your uselessness and I forbid you to ever coming back. Now, begone!"

Tears poured out of my eyes. I wanted to plead another chance. I wanted to stay. I have never been outside of this house and the world outside was a scary unknown. But I knew, no matter how much I pleaded, my father was not going to budge. I obeyed my father and slowly made my way outside of the Hyuga gate. The rain was only sprinkling at this time.

I would probably never again see my father or my sister.

I wiped the tears that has unknowingly sprang threw. "Why must I-I be so weak?" I couldn't hold back and I let out a sob. Why? I placed my head in between my knees and continued to cry, the sobs racked throughout my body. The rain made its water indistinguishable from my tears. I'm only good for crying.

I wiped my face as best as I could and stood up. I was not just going to sit here and cry. I knew I had to find shelter, water, and food or I was never going to make it. I took a deep breath and started running.

I, in all of the sixteen years of my life, have I ever stepped out of the Hyuga compound. I didn't know where I was going, but I absolutely did not want to back.

I forgot how long I was running for, but my legs began to ache and exhaustion was taking over me. I was still stuck in what looked like a town (at least from what I've read in books) and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was going in circles.

My life is a mess.

I saw a corner up ahead and I ran to turn. I felt myself collide into something and the force propelled me backwards. I felt my head hit the edge of the sidewalk and the last thing I saw before I blacked out was blonde hair and the color orange.

~~~
Sunlight beamed in through my eyelids making me groan. My head was pounding and my legs were quite sore. I heard nothing, which was unusual because the maids and other residents of the Hyuga compound were all hustle and bustle in the morning.
I cracked open one eye and saw a different ceiling than I usually wake up to. It was a light grey while mine is a light lavender. Where the heck was I?
I fully opened both eyes and sat up. I looked around to see an orange room with a closed closet, a dresser with photos I couldn't make out from here, and the bed I was lying on. I looked down to see myself in my undergarments and a big T-Shirt.
Then it hit me: I wasn't home.
The memories came rushing back and I bit my lip to keep it from quivering and to keep me from crying. I stopped biting as soon as I tasted the metallic sting of blood.
If I wasn't home, then where was I?
I shivered at the thought of some pervert taking me and changing me. I hopped out of bed and softly landed on the cold tile floor. I shivered. I walked to the door and opened it, hastily. I swiflty got into attack position as I prepared for the worst. But I was greeted by nothing.
I walked out of the room and walked into what I guess was the living room. There was a big brown sofa with a glass table in front of it and behind that table was a T.V. There was a plant in dire need of water in the far left corner. There was a sword hanging on the wall. Well, this person is into some weird kinky stuff.
There was two doors left, beside the kitchen from which you could see the it perfectly from the living room. I grabbed a spatula that I found in a cabinet and prepared to open the door on the left. I took a breath and opened it wide.
It was another regular room, almost the exact same, except this one was black. Literally. The walls, ceiling, drawers. I figured this person was very... dark. I closed that door and braced myself for the door in the middle.
I pressed my ear against it and I could hear very faint, muffled sounds. I raised the spatula higher, so I could land a very hard blow if need be. I put my hand on the doorknob and counted to three.
1.
2.
3!
I opened the door with a mini war cry, when the sound caught in my throat from the view I had.
A blond, blue eyed boy stared back at me. There was whiskers on his face, and I inferred that they were probably drawn on. My gaze shifted lower to where I saw he was only had on a towel wrapped around his waist and his skin gleaming from still being wet. Found the bathroom.
I knew my face was as red as a tomato. A loud clang erupted as my spatula hit the floor. My vision got blurry and I fainted but not before thinking, at least I got a hot pervert.
~~~

I woke up to someone poking my face.

"Oi! Wake up! Woo Hoo! Wake up, sleeping beauty."

I slowly opened my eyes to a face mere inches away from mine.

I did the most reasonable thing.

I screamed.

"Oi!" The blondie quickly covered my mouth with his hand. He wasn't naked anymore and now had orange pants and a black tee. I felt my face grow hot. "Quiet down, will ya? The neighbors will think I'm killing someone or something." He said this with a smile on his face. He was beside the bed I woke up in last time and I was lying on it.

I screamed again. Only this time, it wasn't loud because it was muffled by a hand on my mouth.

"Stop yelling! I'm not gonna hurt ya or anything. Please calm down." He smiled softly and slowly removed his hand.

I didn't scream. He seemed harmless and pretty nice. But then again, I've read this in stories. The bad guy always seems nice, only to catch you off guard and strike you where it hurts.

So I did the most reasonable thing.

I jumped out of bed, grabbed his hand, flipped him around, and sat on him, squishing him by sitting on him. I had one of his hands underneath my left knee and the other in my right hand.

"Stop p-playing the nice guy. I know what you really w-want. You want to g-get on m-my soft side. Maybe pretend to be f-friends. But i-in the end, you're g-gonna give me a poison a-apple or lock me in a-a dungeon or s-something."

"No! I swear, I was just trying to help you!" His voice was muffled because his face was plastered on the ground.

I laughed. "I'm n-not going to fall for t-that trick!"

"Naruto, is this really how you pick up girls? Tsh. Dobe." I quickly looked up to the source of the voice. A dark haired boy with piercing black eyes stared at me. He was wearing black jeans and black v-neck shirt. He was leaning against the doorframe and had his arms crossed.

I let Blondie, or I guess Naruto, go and scrambled on the bed. I stood on it and turned my back to the corner of the room, so if these two boys tried to attack me, I'd have no blind spots. I put up my hands in a attack position.

"W-what's going o-on?" My face was still blushing, probably from the fact I was in the same room as two boys as the same age as me.

I had never met boys my age, except Neji-nii-san. But he was two, three years older than me and my cousin, so he doesn't count. Meanwhile, I never had a regular life and sure as hell never encountered a situation like this.

Naruto got up and sat criss cross applesauce. He scratched the back of his head and cracked a grin, "Well, that's kinda a long story."
