Chapter 18

"Who are you?" The security guard says eyeing me before looking down at the list in his hands.

"Tanna Carson...I'm with Sunset Curve. I'm their photographer."

Since the boys saw the photos from the last photo shoot I took of them for school, they were very adamant on me becoming their photographer.

It was a really cool opportunity and I mean I was at every concert and gig of theirs anyways, so at least until I became over flooded with college work I accepted the offer for now.

"Please, Not this again." I whisper to myself, tapping my foot against the floor as the man gazes over the list again.

"Sorry Miss Carson, you may go ahead." He nods his head, making a smile break out across my face as I thank him.

"It is packed outside you guys!" I exclaim as I walk towards them all standing around a high table. "Like, the cue has gone all the way down the street."

Luke nudges the boys on either side of him out of excitement as their smiles grow. I open my camera bag, taking out my camera and hooking on the strap before hanging it around my neck.

"I see that you didn't have trouble with security this time." Alex says chuckling making me look up at him from my camera and roll my eyes.

"Just almost. It took him a while until he let me in. How was the sound check?" I ask, noticing the sweat glistening off their bodies.

"It was so tight! Too bad it was only the sound check." Reggie says shrugging.

"Yeah man, but tonight's going to be awesome, I mean we're playing the Orpheum you guys!" Luke exclaims excitedly and I can't help admire the passion that shines through his voice.

"Agh I can't even wait much longer!" Alex says as he turns to Reggie who starts talking to him about the gig.

"Umm, all good?" I ask, lifting my camera up to see Luke's eyes on me through the lens and I take the opportunity to snap a photo before tucking the camera under my arm.

"I-uh yeah." He says rubbing the back of his neck nervously making me giggle.

"Luke, nervous, I've never!" I tease as he shakes his head with a smile on his face.

"I mean, we're playing The Orpheum Tan, what did you expect?" I nod my head with a smile as he walks around the table and steps closer to me.

"Like I say almost everyday, you guys are seriously talented, you don't have to worry because I know once you're up there, you'll forget about the nerves and play your heart out like you always do." His eyes sparkle as he hears the words that leave my lips as he nods.

He takes a step closer to me but I place my hand on his chest, keeping him away slightly which makes him pout.

"You're sweaty Luke."

"Come on." He says looking at me with those enchanting eyes making it difficult to look away. "I need some luck before the show."

"Don't look at me like that, you were fine before I moved to LA." I just shake my head, pulling a face at him as I step back making him sigh.

"Come on Luke, we gotta get ready, doors open in five." Alex says patting Luke's shoulder before him and Reggie run onto the stage, getting their instruments ready.

"Aww okay, I'm sorry." I say walking closer to him as I place my hand on his cheek, kissing his other one while he wraps his arms around my waist. "Good to go now?"

His smile widens completely as I move back to look at him. My eyes watch his face as he playfully tugs on the ribbon in my hair making me roll my eyes.

"This is cute." Suddenly the ribbon falls loose before dangling in his hand making me giggle. "Sorry Tan."

I take the ribbon from his hand before wrapping it around his bicep as he keeps his eyes on me.

"Double good luck, You better go now." He nods with his bottom lip between his teeth with a smile as he looks down at me.

I watch as he turns around before walking towards the stage.

"Man that shirt does wonders." I say to myself, picking up my camera again.

"Heard that Carson!" My eyes widen and my cheeks flush red as I turn to see Luke back at the table. "Forgot my guitar pick." He holds it up in the air, waving it slightly before winking and walking away.

"Oh my, I'm gonna die." I cover my face with my hand while shaking my head in disbelief.

"Please don't."

"Patterson leave!" I hear him chuckle before he runs the rest of the distance before climbing onto the stage.

Soon enough the venue was packed with mostly teenagers who were all waiting impatiently for the boys to come onto stage.

I stood at the front of the stage near the security where there was enough space for me to move around and take the photos I wanted to.

The lights in The Orpheum dimmed slowly as the mist once again filled the stage, which only enhanced the excitement of the audience.

"What's up everybody!" Luke's voice hollered through the venue as screams echoed back at him. My eyes were fixated on him as a smirk grew on his face at the response.
"So, We've got some new songs on the setlist tonight."

"Are you guys ready?!" As soon as the crowd screamed in excitement, the familiar chords of 'Where I belong' sounded throughout The Orpheum making the crowd shout even louder if that was possible.

I smile to myself as the boys each sing their own solos from the song that Luke wrote with me that night in the studio.

I found a reason
And suddenly I'm not so alone
I'm finally breathing
Like I never could on my own
Start the countdown, let's get it on
Scream our lungs out to our favorite song
'Cause this is where I belong

As the three of them sing the chorus together the crowd goes wild and the boys smile through their singing, knowing the crowd liked the new song.

At the end of the concert, I made my way backstage to the boys dressing room, finding them in awe and completely out of breath, spread out on the couches.

"That was, I actually don't even have the words to describe it!" I say moving to sit next to Luke who shifted upright to make space for me.

"Right! That's what this is all about, the energy in there was insane, it's like we were just feeding off of their excitement." Luke exclaimed which set off a whole conversation of how incredible it was for the three of them.

"Hey Al, Chuck me that cable please?" I say gesturing to the iPhone cord on the table in front of him.

I use the cord to connect my phone to my camera, syncing some of the photos to my phone as Luke drapes his arm around me.

I turn to him with narrowed eyes, not saying anything because I know he knows.

"You'll live Carson." He chuckles as I roll my eyes at him before sending the boys the photos.

"Woah Tan, these- your talent is just-"

"Cat got your tongue Patterson?" I tease as the boys laugh at my response before Alex speaks out.

"No but seriously Tan, you are so talented, like every single one of these photos are phenomenal."

"Ah thank you guys, seriously, it means everything coming from you." I smile shaking my head as I lean into Luke's side after resting the camera in my lap.

"Let's go grab milkshakes?" Reggie asks out of the blue as we all turn to look at him.

"I'm down." Alex says nodding as he pushed on his thighs to stand up.

"I've got work to do for class." I pout, shaking my head. "But you guys must go."

"We aren't going without chu." Luke says to me making me roll my eyes.

"Come on Tan, we won't be long." I sigh, contemplating whether it would be a good idea or not.

"You promise?" The boys take that as a yes, dragging me outside towards the car. I can't help but laugh with them as we I climb into the back of the car next to Luke before Reggie drives us to the diner.
