3// Jerk
(Omfg look at that adorable face. I swear, this boy is going to be the death of me ❤️)
Ariana
"Hey, watch where you're going, Drama Queen," he growled, shoving her forcefully into the wall. Her eyes widened in fear, and he smirked.
"I didn't mean to," she retorted angrily. "And my name is Ariana."
He kept smirking.
"Look, dude, I don't know what your problem is, but you're walking around like you own the place. What were you doing standing at the door anyway?"
She knew she had caught him red handed when his face paled. He had been eavesdropping on her and Calum's conversation! She knew he was a jerk from the beginning, but she didn't realize he would stoop so low. And he had her pinned to the wall!
"Eavesdropper," she muttered, ducking under his arm, which was resting on the wall, and grabbing some clothes. She decided she was going to take a shower.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" He stopped her by closing the door and blocking it.
Her eyebrows raised. "Going to take a shower?"
"I'm not done with you yet," he growled, pushing her so hard up against the wall that she dropped her clothes. He smirked at her, right before his lips met hers forcefully. Her eyes opened wide as she tried to push him away. He pulled away to catch air just as the door opened, and there stood Calum.
"Calum!" She shouted, attempting to push Luke away. He didn't budge. He kept her pinned against the wall as if Calum wasn't there.
"Help!" She mouthed to him, and he looked a little hurt. Maybe he hadn't understood her.
"Help!" She actually said, and Luke turned around, dropping her so abruptly that she fell on her bum. Calum's eyebrows furrowed as he met eyes with Luke. He took a step towards them, looking at Luke then to Ariana, then back again.
"What is going on here?" He asked, a stern expression directed at Ariana. She shook her head, as if to say, it's not what it looks like. But it was what it looked like. Calum's crush and Calum's enemy making out in their dorm room.
"Ariana, is he bothering you?" He asked, and she nodded vigorously. She pointed to her lips, and his eyes widened as he got the message. Luke kept his gaze locked on Calum. Calum glared at Luke.
"Guys, I - "
She was interrupted by Luke dashing at Calum, and before she could even blink, they were rolling around on the floor, punching the bloody living out of each other.
"Guys!"
They were shouting obscenities at each other, and Ariana winced. She wasn't used to hearing obsessive swear words, and only cursed occasionally.
"Guys!"
They were too busy punching and swearing at each other. She had had enough at that point.
"Stop!"
She stood, realizing that she was still sitting flat on her bum. They stopped, looking at her, then at each other. Calum pushed Luke off of him and stood. "I'm sorry," he said simply. She nodded, excusing him. But then she shifted her gaze to Luke, who was leaning his back against the side of his bed. He had blood dripping out of his nose, as did Calum.
"This is ridiculous!" Her voice went so high it squealed. "Luke, stop being a damn jerk!"
He just smirked at her, nodding, as if to say, so this is how you want to play? Alright.
"And Calum, stop taking his shit and ignore him." Calum winced. He knew he had done something wrong, because of the way she was glaring at him.
"Ugh, solve your own problems. I need a shower," Ariana scoffed, grabbing her clothes from the floor.
Luke
Calum was his enemy. He always has been. Ever since last year, he's hated Calum with all his heart. Last year, Luke was after a girl. But Calum was after the same girl. They fought over her, and in the end, Calum got her.
The same thing was happening with Ariana, and Luke was determined to prevent the same ending. Sure, they had just met the other day, but he felt that with enough teasing, she'll come to appreciate him.
"Calum," he challenged, glaring. Calum glared back, but made no move. Ariana stormed out with her clothes, so it was just them.
"Give up, Luke. You heard what Ariana said. Stop being a damn jerk," Calum said, stalking out of the room. Luke glared lasers into the door, as if doing so would make Calum come back.
Sure, Luke could've walked right into the shared showers, right into Ariana's stall. After all, the college was not sex-separated.
But something kept him from doing so. It was an odd feeling. All warm and fuzzy inside, almost like..
He cared.
Ariana
Ten minutes into her shower, and Ariana heard Calum's voice outside the shower stall. She had just finished washing the grime out of her hair.
"I'm sorry, Ariana."
She sighed. How could she already know this kid so well?
"It's okay," she replied, "You didn't know what was going on anyway."
She could almost hear the smile in his tone. "How could I have? I'm just glad you aren't mad."
"I'm practically bulletproof at this point," Ariana started, "like Titanium."
"What do you mean?"
"I've had so many insults thrown at me, I'm getting used to the feeling, like you're getting punched in the face."
"Luke did this to you?" He asked as the shower turned off and Ariana stuck her hand out, demanding a towel. He handed it over, and she took it.
"No. He's insulted me, big time, but not they way they used to." She sniffed disapprovingly.
"They?" He questioned, and she sighed sadly. She wiped her face dry. "These boys..in high school. Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall. They..well, they made me do things."
She heard Calum gasp as she stuck her hand out again and demanded her clothes. She soon felt the fabric in her hands, and she pulled back, unfolding the clothes and starting to put them on. "They sexually assaulted you?" He asked, and she detected a tinge of anger laced in his tone.
"Not exactly. They didn't steal my virginity, but they still..touched me." She winced. It was always painful telling people these things. Ariana stepped out, and as soon as she did, she was engulfed into a Calum hug. It was warm, and it smelled fondly of home.
"I'm sorry something so bad happened to you," he said sadly, "If I could, I would track them down and..well, you get the point. But you should never deserve such treatment."
She was never fond of telling people her dark past, because it all seemed so cheesy. She would trust someone with that information, and they'd freak, like, 'oh, I'm so sorry, you shouldn't deserve that' and everything really deep. Like what Calum just said.
"Look, Calum, it was sweet and all, but I don't need your sympathy. I made it through, and sometimes I wished I was dead, but it's over, okay?" She sniffed.
"Did you ever tell your mum?" He asked, and it was barely above a whisper. She had to lean in to hear everything. "Yes," she nodded, and he smiled. "She wants to forget it though, and she acts as though it never happened. I try to be strong around her."
He pulls away, grabbing her stuff and setting a comforting hand on the small of her back. "I guess it's time to go face Luke again," he says, leading her out of the showers.

When they got back to the room, Luke was sitting on his bed, and Calum shot a disapproving glare at him as Ariana sat down on her bed and started to sob. He patted her back and murmured comforting words in her ear.
"What's wrong with her?" Luke said, and he genuinely sounded like he didn't give a shït. Calum glared. "She's having an emotional moment. Shut your asshole."
Ariana looked up, her face red, blotchy, and swollen. Calum swore Luke looked a bit worried, but it vanished from his face the instant they locked eyes. "You look like shît," Luke pointed out, and she just started sobbing harder. She leaned into Calum's chest and cried into his shirt. He wrapped his arm around her and continued murmuring comforting words.
Soon, though, she quieted, and as the sky grew dark outside the window, Calum realized she had fallen asleep leaning on him. He was a bit cramped, so he - as gently as possible - unwrapped his arm from around her and outstretched his arms and legs. He realized as he checked the time that they still hadn't eaten dinner, and Ariana was most likely hungry.
"Ari," he murmured softly in her ear, "it's time to eat. C'mon."
She started to stir, and she opened her eyes, which were foggy from sleepiness. It was nine o' clock on the dot. He took a glance at Luke, who had fallen asleep with his earbuds in and his phone resting on his chest.
Calum held his hand out for Ariana, and she took it, pulling herself to her feet and stretching. They walked out of the dorm building, Ariana, having snaked her arm around Calum's waist and leaning into his side, was half asleep. He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer.
"So, what're you up for?" He asked, looking down at her petite frame.
