Jace's POV

"Rieleeeeeeee!!!" I moaned her name

There was no respond and it was silence

"Riele?." I said walking into our living room (they got an apartment together now btw)

I see Riele sitting on the couch watching Orphan Black (if you like mystery and drama that is the showw)

"Yes?" She finally responded looking at up at me

"I called your name like twice." I stated

"I know but my mouth was to to lazy to reply." She shrugs

I groaned and flopped down sitting next to her "I'm head is gonna blow up if I keep studying."

"Well this is our last year of college, then you can take a one week nap to recover." She told me

"True." I agreed

"Meanwhile I should actually study myself cause I've just been watching Orphan Black all weekend." She says shutting off the tv getting up

I grab her hand stopping her from leaving "Do you have to leave now." I wined

"Yes, Jace I have a test to study for tomorrow." She nudges turning around but I grab her waist standing up in front of her

She bite her lip and looked up at me "Your legit acting four years old right now."

"Don't you wanna do something else beside studying right now." I rose an eyebrow at her

"Like..."

"Maybe this..." I tightened my grip on her waist and brought her closer to me smashing my lips on hers laying back on the couch with her straddling my lap

This caused a very heated make out session

Sadly this amazing moment got interrupted by my phone ringing on the coffee table right in front of us

"Riele, babe." I said in between the kisses "The phone."

"It's not important." She says continuing to kiss me passionately

I break away from the kiss "What if it is important." I said looking into her eyes

She bite her lip and groaned getting off my lap "Fine."

"It'll be a quick second." I said grabbing my phone and the caller ID is the person I've been waiting to call me

I answered "Hello."

"Good afternoon, is this Jace Norman that I'm speaking too?"

"Yes it is." I replied back

"The ring that you choose 2 weeks ago is finally ready for you to pick up." The person on the phone told me

A smile appeared on my face "That's amazing, when is a good time for me to pick it up?"

"Today is actually perfect because we gonna close in an hour and we're gonna be pretty busy next week."

"Oh right now?" I said shocked "Oh I'll be right there to get it."

"Great see you then." The person said hanging up the phone

"What was that about?" Riele asked still sitting on the couch

"Uhh... I let Sean borrow one of my books with notes in them and I have to go get them back from him so I can study more."

"You sure seem happy about getting a book back?" She questioned

"Well I mean I don't wanna fail." I softly chuckled

"Can I come with you then." She says getting up

"Oh no no no." I stop her by placing my hands on her shoulders

"Why not? Your gonna go to the dorm building and while you get your book back I'll say hi to Ella real quick." She states

"But weren't you going to study."

"Yeah but your little make out session stopped me remember." She crossed her arms over her chest

"Well now you have the time to study without me distracting you. It'll only be a few minutes anyway." I kiss her forehead before leaving the room

Riele's POV

I was only five minutes into studying and I already gave up and got bored and went to snapchat for a while and started looking throw people stories

I came across Sabrina story and I literally screamed

I screenshot it and went to iMessage to text Sabrina

Riele: *sends photo* GURLLLLLLLL😻😻

Sabrina: ikr😌

Riele: you little bish how come you didn't text me first after he proposed like omfgg your gonna be married!!!

Sabrina: Ella literally asked me the same thing 😅

Riele: WHEN DID HE PROPOSE?

Sabrina: like literally this morning!!!

Riele: ok, you, and Ella all need to meet up tomorrow before my parents dinner so we can discuss how your gonna be Mrs.- wait what's his last name😂

Sabrina: Tarver

Riele: oooo Mrs. Tarver 😏

Sabrina: we should also talk about when are you gonna become Mrs. Norman

Riele: 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Sabrina: like when is he gonna propose by the time you guys are 40!

Riele: aye idk 😂 no pressure

Riele: but I should probably go back to studying, ttyl Mrs. Tarver ;)))

I shut off my phone and went back to the boring books

Only 20 minutes later I got bored of studying again so I decided to go back into the living room

I walked back inside the living room and Jace walked in scaring the shit out of me "Oh my god Jace what the fuck." I said out of breath

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He calms me down chuckling

"Took you forever to get the book back, and the dorm building isn't really that far too." I stated

"Sorry, me and Sean started talking and I guess I lost track of time." He admitted

"Did you also lose the book?"

He eyes went big like he totally forgot about the book "It turns out I didn't need the book after all so I let him use it more." He shrugged

"Mhm." I nodded going along with it

He changes the subject "So did you see Sabrina story."

"Yeah, she better make the maid of honor." I joked sitting down on the couch

He sits on the couch next to my putting my legs on his lap "Who will you make your maid of honor, Sabrina or Ella."

"Ugh, that's a hard answer. They'll both find a way to make themselves the spotlight." I chuckled

"But I don't know, I'll answer the question if you wanna put a ring on my finger."

"I guess you like the name Riele Norman." He smirks

"Yeah I guess." I playfully rolled my eyes trying not to blush

"A ring would look good on your finger." He holds my hand

"Yeah it would."

"So are you ready to go to your parents dinner." He asked me

"Of course not." I lay my head back on the couch

"Why, it'll be nice to finally meet your dad."

"No both of my parents are literally just gonna judge and correct my life decisions." I laughed

"Your doing amazing in school, I'm just worried your parents won't like me."

I cup his face making him look at me "Trust me once my parents get to know you they'll like you better then me." I smiled

the next day

"Hey Jace I'm hanging out with Ella and Sabrina today but I'll be here in time to get ready for the dinner." I said fixing my hair a little more

Jace walks inside the bathroom and leans against the side of the door "You look good, too good. Are you sure your only hanging out with Ella and Sabrina?"

"This honestly isn't even that much." I said looking at my outfit

"And yes I'm only hanging out with Sabrina and Ella." I said grabbing my phone and walking up to him

"Just don't forget that your mines." He says smirking grabbing my waist kissing my lips

I pull away from the kiss and smiled "I never will."

"And I gotta go, I'll call you." I told him before leaving the bathroom and the apartment

Ella, Sabrina, and I all met up at Olive Garden

"Bro look at these throw back pictures."

"Gosh we were only like 19 there." Sabrina says laughing with joy

"A couple of 19 years olds that got kicked out of Walmart cause we were being retarded." I laughed

"Now were just 22 year olds who are still are crazy and retarded." Ella joked

"And one of us is getting married!!" I squealed at Sabrina

"So who do you plan on making your maid of honor?" I asked Sabrina taking a sip of my ice tea

"My cousin Vanessa only because we promised each other when we were little that we were gonna be each other's maid of honor, but of course you guys are going to be my bridesmaids." She says

"Cool with that." Ella adds and I agree with her

"So who's next between y'all two?" Sabrina asked pointing at me and Ella

"What do you mean?" I question

"Who's wedding can I plan next after mines." She states it again

Me and Ella both look at each other and shrug

"It's probably gonna be Riele, I don't think Landon gonna do it that fast we've only been dating for like 10 months now."

"Of course I would love Jace to propose but I'm not gonna force him or whatever."

"And do you know know how cute you and Jace's baby would be." Ella squealed

"Let's hope the baby at least has my brains." I chuckled

I walked back into our apartment to be hit with the sent of Jace colon and see him all dressed up and ready

"Ugh, we have another full 2 hours before the dinner why'd you get dress so early?" I said confused

"I actually have to go somewhere real quick...." He says with a suspicious tone in his voice

"And that somewhere is?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest

"It's gonna sound really weird if I tell you." He says fiddling with his fingers

"Are you gonna go to a strip club?" I joked

"What no! It's just I need to talk to your dad." He finally speaks up

I looked at him confused and shocked "My dad. Why?"

"Just need to talk to him about something."

"What is it?" I asked

"Nothing." He shrugs

"Jace."

"Riele." He mocks me

I pout my lips looking at me "I'll be back in an hour to pick you up." He says placing a kiss on my cheek before grabbing his keys and leaving

What the hell is up with him...

I spray some Victoria Secret Bombshell perfume to finish off my look

I actually got ready fast with 20 minutes to spare so I decided to use those last 20 minutes to FaceTime Ella

"Heyyyiuuu, shit!" She yells looking down at the floor in pain

"What happened?" I asked

"I just stubbed my fucking pinky toe on the table." She bites her lips from screaming in pain "Ow son of a bitch!"

"Well... your day is going great. Hey can I ask you something?"

"Sure. You can talk I'm gonna get some ice cream from the fridge."

"I just need to know if you can explain to me why Jace has been acting so weird."

She came back with the ice cream bowl and a spoon "Ok besides usual, how is he acting weird."

"Well for starters, yesterday me and Jace were hanging out inside the living room and he gets this call sounding like he has to pick up something and when I asked him what it was he said he had to pick up a book from Sean, but he said it with a weird tone. And you know what makes it more weird is that when he comes back he has no book!!" I explained to her

"Mhm, that is sketchy." She nodded licking her spoon full of ice cream

I continued on "And then after I came from hanging out with you and Sabrina I walked in and Jace was already ready. Like TWO hours ready, and he never gets ready that fast. So I asked him why he got ready so fast he said he needed to talk to my dad. MY DAD? And I kept asking him what he was gonna talk about with him but he doesn't what to tell. Like what could Jace Norman possibly have to talk about with my dad that I can't know?"

Ella jaws dropped and she puts down her spoon "Oh my gosh Riele how can you be so clueless about that one!!"

I gave her a confused look "What do you mean?"

"Jace obviously wants a blessing from your dad because he wants to marry you!"

My heart kinda stopped at that point "Um... I don't think so.."

"Uh I think yes!" She disagrees "Gosh everybody getting married already."

I take a deep breath "Oh my gosh Jace is gonna propose to me! Wait what if he isn't and I get my hopes up for nothing- but then again what if he does what do I do!?"

"Um say yes." She chuckles

"Oh my god now I have that running threw my mind through the whole dinner. How am I suppose to go throw a whole dinner with accidentally bring it up?"

"Just don't think about cause you might ruin it. You never know he may not propose to you that night because he has something special planned." She told me

I hear keys jiggling threw the doorknob

"Hey Ella I gotta go I think that's Jace."

"Ok but don't say anything stupid Riele." She told me quickly

"I'll try not to." I said before ending the FaceTime call and Jace walked in the apartment

"Hey your back." I smiled at him

"Yeah, and you look amazing."

"Thanks." I said getting up "We should probably get going." I walked past him

He turns around confused "Are you mad at me or something?"

I shrug "Don't know what your talking about."

He just stood there and looked at me

"Do you wanna take a picture cause we're gonna be late."

He rolled his eyes grabs grabbing his key "Let's go."

I watched walked him past the door pissed, I sigh

We were only half way into the dinner and jace was only having having full on conversation with my dad

I mean like yeah he would have conversations with the rest of use, but they there were tiny conversations

What also sucks is that I couldn't hear what they were talking about because my dad decided to sit right next to Jace so they were basically whispering to each other

I'm starting to rethink about this whole jace proposing because he already talked to my dad before this dinner and what could be this important that he's still talking about it now

"Riele I could use your help in the kitchen for the desert." My mom suggested getting out of her seat

"Sure it's not like I'm needed here." I mumbled getting out of my seat and walking to the kitchen to meet my mom

"Riele why are you acting so moody?" My mom asked me while putting on some oven mitts

I cross my arms over my chest "I am not."

"Just tell me what's wrong honey." She states

"It's Jace and dad haven't you not notice that ever since this dinner started they've been distance having there own little conversations." I said answering her questions

"Did you try asking jace what's wrong?" She says while opening the oven and getting apple pie out of the oven

"Wellll..... not exactly. But I'm not even gonna try cause if he's whispering to dad for me not to here he's definitely not gonna answer if I ask him." I replied going to a cabinet and getting four dessert plates

"And I think he's mad at me right now because I was kinda being snappy before we came here." I exhale sharply

She removes her oven mitts "What if it's a surprise."

"Don't think so, Jace knows how much I hate surprises." I shrugged getting 4 forks also

"You never know, you may be shocked." My mom mumbled the last part as she placed the apple pie on a different tray

I turn to look at her "Do you know what the surprise is?"

"No." Her voice went higher as she looked down

"Mom I know your lying cause your voice always goes higher. What's going on?" I asked

"I should bring the apple pie to the table now." My mom said leaving the kitchen completely ignoring my question

"I love how people tell me things around here." I rolled my eyes grabbing the plates and forks

I walked back to the dining room to hear them having a full on conversation until I walked in the room then it went completely quiet. I put down the plates and and forks and sit back down in my seat peacefully

"Ok I'm not trying to cause a scene or anything but it would be nice if my parents and boyfriend could like yunno tell me what's going on cause I'm very confused." I stated and I was hoping someone would at least say something

I got of my chair really losing it "Ok if you guys really don't want me to know it probably isn't smart to talk about it through the whole dinner."

"Riele trust me it's nothing to go crazy over right now." Jace says getting out of his chair to calm me down

I scoff and get out "I'm going on a walk." I said leaving the dining room and walking to the door when the door surprisingly open seeing a person who I had no clue was coming over

"Reyia?" I said shocked

"Hey sis." She says with her suitcases and closing the door behind her

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"I came to spend the weekend." She says with a smile on her face

"Does no one tell me anything anymore." I snapped confused

"Anything."

I looked at my sister with a stare "Aren't you suppose to mature at 30."

She just laughs shaking her head

"Riele wait-" Jace said walking inside of the room

"I was just about to-"

"You can go without letting me do the surprise for you." He says

I looked at him confused as he got on one knee and took a box out of his pocket

He opened it to reveal a beautiful big diamond ring, I gasp and cover my mouth "Ohmygosh." I said out of breath shocked

"Riele I love you to the moon and back. I honestly couldn't go a day without you because you make me a better person. You are my everything. You make me the happiest person on earth and I wanna make you feel the same. I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Riele will you marry me." He pop the big question

"Yes, of course I will." I felt tears ran down my face as Jace slipped the ring on my finger

I wiped my tears and wrapped my arms around Jace "I feel like such an asshole right now." I chuckled

"I'm just really bad at keeping secrets." He smiled at me kissing my forehead

"Ok wait time out-" Reyia paused me and Jace moment "Real talk real quick I'm obviously gonna be your maid of honor right."

I playfully roll my eyes "How could I forget the promise we made each other when we were little."

"That's good." She nods "Ok back to your lovely duvy stuff."

I ignored and smiled at Jace biting my bottom lip

"Can't wait to be Riele Norman."

"Me too." He agrees
