🦋 Alone🦋

I sat in the emergency room value area, my head resting on my hands.

My father was pacing and my mother was crying her eyes out.

The more I thought about how Yeonji got to Hoseok's car, the more I could put the little pieces of the puzzle together.

I felt sick at the thought that maybe...gosh....

My sister was in surgery with internal injuries. The doctor said that the impact of the airbag had caused a rib to pierce her lung.

I was still in shock, everything happened in a split second. Like in a Hollywood movie.

My phone buzzed continuously. Hoseok..

I ignored him. My thoughts didn't let me go of the suspicion that maybe it could be him with whom Yeonji is in love?

It was his car...his damn car.

The air in this hospital choked me, I got up and ran outside.

I was crying, breathing as fast as if I had run a marathon twice.

"Yeonji!" I murmured, sobbing.

"Jani??!" someone touched me from behind.

I turned around and Hoseok was standing right in front of me.

"Baby what are you doing here?" he wanted to hug me but I backed away.

"Don't!" I whispered, my heart beating so fast.

"Why are you here?" my voice trembled.

"My car...this girl, she drove it into the wall, the police said she was badly injured. I wanted to know how she was! But why are you here?"

Tears were running down my face, I felt so bad.

"I'm going to ask you something Hoseok, and I want to know a few things from you!"

"Baby what happened?" he took another step towards me.

"Don't you fucking come near me!"

"Jani!" he stopped abruptly.

I took a deep breath and looked at him.

"This girl...who stole your car...her name!"

"Why do you want to know?"

"What's her name Hoseok!"

He didn't answer right away...

"Jani, I...I..!"

"Her fucking name Jung Hoseok!"

"Yeonji , okay her name was Yeonji! Why is that so important?"

As of this moment, I could have died. I was breaking inside. I sobbed.

"Do you know her last name?" I whispered.

"No, she never mentioned it! Jani..she means nothing to me. She's crazy!!!"

I was devastated.

"Her name is Min Yeonji, Hoseok...!"

"Like you!" he frowned.

"Yeah right, like me and you know why? Because that crazy bitch, as you called her, is my little sister!"

"What?"

I could read the shock in his eyes.

"Oh my god...!" i turned around and grabbed my forehead.

Then I started laughing and crying at the same time.

"You....!" i turned to him. "You're that idiot I was trying to protect her from!"

Then I went at him. I pushed him over and over again. Cried, called him names. Until he grabbed me and held me tight.

"I didn't know...I swear to God I didn't know!"

"Let go of me!" I squirmed and squirmed, trying to get out of his grip.

"Jani..baby...i love you! I love you!"

And then I looked at him, feeling nothing but hate, and I lashed out and spat straight into his face.

It has been almost a week since Yeonji's accident .

She was still in the hospital but on a good way.

But she wouldn't see me, wouldn't talk to me and I don't know why.

I keep wondering if she hates me, if she knows about me and Hoseok? How did she find out? If only I had known...

I felt bad, guilty...

I spent the whole week at home with my parents, I just couldn't go back to the Mansion and pretend nothing happened.

Every time I passed my sister's room, everything inside me tightened up.

And then there was this moment when I pushed down the door handle of her room, went in and saw my father sitting on her bed.

I had never seen him like that before.

He looked like a broken man, sobbing....

"Appa?" I said in a calm voice and walked up to him.

He wiped away his tears when he saw me and turned his head away from me.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I...I...!" actually I didn't know either.

"I miss her too Appa, but she'll be okay!" I sat down next to my dad, but he stood right up.

"You should be the last one to miss her!" his demeanor changed .

My father turned to me, I was still sitting on Yeonji's bed, looking at him.

"The car belonged to Jung Hoseok! What had you dragged her into?"

I knew it would come to this.

"Appa I..!"

"You and your escapades, your frivolous life, and then you drag your little sister into it!" he cut me off.

"Yes, that's so easy...!" tears welled up in my eyes.

"This has an end Min Jani!"

"Yes, the evil daughter who doesn't live by the rules of the house must be the culprit!" it burst out of me.

I wanted to leave. Not to listen to his sermon. I felt guilty enough as it was.

"You're going to Tokyo!" my father said.

"I know you want to get rid of me as soon as possible, Appa!"

My father approached me.
"Watch your mouth!"

Tears streamed down my face.

"You have once again shown that you are not my blood!"

It was as if he was turning the knife he had bored into my heart a long time ago.

"Appa!" I sobbed.

"Your things are being taken out of that dirty house you stayed in for the last few days and you will pack today!"
he showed no expression.

"What do you mean?" My heart was racing.

"Your flight leaves tomorrow morning. You will stay at your uncle's house for the last semester. You will be driven to the university and brought back! No parties, no alkehol and especially no guys!"

That was the moment Min Jani died.

"Why don't you put me in jail right now!"

"Your cousin will stay by your side and take care of you. He is well educated and you can learn manners from him!"

And then he reached into his jacket pocket and threw me something.

"I found this among your sister's things that the police gave me."

It was a crumpled hard paper. I smoothed it out and my heart stopped.

A photo...

Me...sitting on Hoseok's lap, my skirt half over my thighs, his hands on my ass....

The evening at the club with his friend Jimin....
🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

"Did she get back to you?"

Tina shook Hoseok's arm, who just grinned at her and sipped his beer.

"Did you call her?" Tina was starting to get pissed.

The music at the club played the same song as the day he saw Jani on the dance floor for the first time.

He'd fallen head over heels in love with her and now she didn't even want to be near him.

"She blocked me and you know what? I don't give a shit!" he looked at Tina and toasted her.

"You're drunk!"

"Not yet enough!"

Tina reached for her phone and held it out to him!

"Call Jani!"

Hoseok rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"What are you trying to do Tina! She doesn't want to anymore. Let it be!"

Tina heaved an angry sigh and opened the text message app, holding out a text from Jani in his Face ."

"She's leaving Seoul tomorrow!"

Hoseok didn't even look at Tina or the text message.

"Wherever she goes ..she should be happy."

Tina slammed her phone down on the table.

"Fuck..you're really getting on my nerves with this fucking 'I don't care' behavior. What's wrong with you!"

Hoseok leaned forward to her

"What do you want Tina!"

"That you talk to Jani before she's up and away"

"I won't , okay!"

Tina saw the chance of Jani and Hoseok ever finding each other again fading.

"It's not your fault or Jani's! Yeonji is crazy okay! ....She's flying to Tokyo tomorrow morning around nine...!"

"Just stop it Tina. It's over!!!"

Hoseok stood up and disappeared into the crowd.

I packed the last things before my father's driver came to get my luggage.

Once again I looked around my room.

Anything was better than staying in Seoul. So I wordlessly agreed with my father.

I closed the door behind me and went to the car.

It was early in the morning and the sun was rising, the birds were beginning to chirp.

My mother was standing by the car crying when I joined her.

"Eomma!" I hugged her, "I'll see you in a year!"

"Behave yourself Min Jani, prove to your father that you are a good daughter!" she kissed my cheek.

I nodded and then I got into the car and drove to Incheon airport.

When I arrived at the airport, I checked in, my father spared no effort to punish me and booked economy class.

I took my ticket, handed in my things and just wanted a coffee.

I went to the lounge , got my coffee and sat down, watching the people.

Some were in a hurry, others said goodbye in tears.

There I sat, all alone, no one to say goodbye to me.

And then, out of nowhere, I saw him.

He was wearing sweats, a long dark coat and a beanie.
